Can we get a definitive question and answer response on when CM Punk is going to WWE? I saw he is going before the WWE Board of Directors on Twitter but none of this is on PWInsider and I come here to get the truth about what other people report.
I will give you the most definitive response I can ever give you. There have been zero conversations between the two sides that I have personally been aware of. Could they have conversed on the phone? Clandestine meeting? Sure, but I don't believe any of that has actually happened.
There would be ZERO reality where a pro wrestler would be meeting with the WWE Board of Directors, which by the way no longer exists. It's the TKO Board and again, there's zero reality where the Board would meet with a pro wrestler about his ability and potential to come in to perform. We have heard nothing from any WWE source about contracts being drawn up, creative plans being tossed out, nothing.
Punk himself has said he's pulled out of bookings and plans because he's taking care of Larry the Dog. It's not like the man is hurting financially. On their side, WWE doesn't need to rush anyone onto their TV right now since the company is so hot. If they want to bring him in, they will, but there's no pressing reason to make it happen NOW, RIGHT NOW, IMMEDIATELY.
So, while I'll never say it's not happening or can't happen because only an true village idiot speaks in absolutes about professional wrestling, where things change on a dime, currently, there's been zero movement in Punk-WWE talks that I am aware of.
All that said, if you are coming here so I can respond to what others report, in most cases, that's never going to be what I focus on. I'd rather work on breaking my own stories, as I did this week with CW-NXT and WWE-Giulia, among others. I'm never going to be leaning into Mike comments on what wrestling writer x said about wrestler y on wrestler z's podcast. That sort of content is meaningless, lame and worthless to me. No thanks.
How do you think Tony Khan feel knowing he got passed up for the CW Network by NXT? I saw a report he blew off negotiating with the network.
I don't think Tony Khan cares because based on the story that you linked in your question, Khan allegedly turned down meeting with a CW exec when AEW last ran Los Angeles. That would have been June of 2022. Nexstar didn't purchase controlling rights of CW until August of 2022, so that would have meant Khan would have been talking with someone who ended up no longer in power, since there's an entirely new management team and strategy for the network. That's like you going to potentially interview with someone for a job, but then they get fired, so it's not like they could get you the job after that. So, I don't think Khan cares, since it sounds like a nothing story - in my opinion - trying to connect dots where they aren't actually there under scrutiny when you look at the timeline of how things went. If he HAD met with someone then, they would have been out of power a few weeks later and the meeting wouldn't have led to anything of merit. So, that doesn't sound like Khan or AEW were "passed up" for anything. It was all potentials that never came to fruition because the CW changed from an internal, structulal standpoint.
Do you think WWE screwed over the NWA?
No, I don't. As I said on Eric Bischoff's podcast this week, what's to say the discussed Billy Corgan reality series, which would feature the NWA, doesn't air on CW before WWE lands there? We have a lot of time between now and the fall of 2024 to see what's the reality of the situation as opposed to assuming - and let's remember nothing was ever actually announced, so it was all assumptions to begin with, which is why we never reported anything here!
Whatever happened to the Tori who used to hang with X-Pac and Kane in WWF during the Attitude Era?
I haven't heard anything about Tori Poch in many years beyond she moved to the Pacific Northwest and at one point, had opened a yoga studio. She hasn't done any signings or convention appearances, so she's apparently moved on.
Do you see UFC having a fight as a Wrestlemania bout? Maybe WWE having a card in an Octagon?
I don't see it happening but you never say never. I don't see WWE having talents perform in an Octagon.
