Wrestling Open Week 96

11/2/23 Worcester, MA

It’s Thursday! It’s Wrestling Open! We have a LOT of new blood on the card tonight, starting right here with the spotlight match!

Spotlight Match: Sammi Chaos vs Krystal Moon

Pair of debuts tonight. Moon gives up a lot of size to Chaos. Moon plowed over early but stuns  Sammi with a knee strike and bulldog. Moon is gonna do a slingshot spear? Seems ill advised. Sammi catches her and blasts a ddt. Hard whips and body splashes from Chaos. Krystal trying to fight back but Chaos is just running her over. Samoan drop for two! Moon trying to fire up and screams as she slowly backs Chaos into corner. Running double knees for two. She goes for the running knee again but Chaos grabs a bear hug. Moon out and trips up Sammi and scoops up the pin. 

Winner: Krystal Moon

And we’re live! Paul Crockett and Brother Greatness are at the commentary booth. Rich Palladino is on the announcer’s mic. Let’s do this!

Match 1: AJZ (Andreas John Ziggler) vs Bobby Orlando

I hate to hate on new people debuting but Mom is on the other side of this match so AJZ is just the worst to us here in Worcester right now. Orlando is working him over early but AJZ is just rising from the dead like some kinda denim Jesus. Orlando tries a superplex but gets faceplanted off the top. AJZ with a popup punch. Orlando starting to fire up as AJZ is showing to be a bit off the mark. Bobby slam! Sick trick cutter! Mom puts AJZ to bed.

Winner: Bobby Orlando

Match 2: Armani Kayos vs Saraya Sabre

Armani with a show of disrespect to the newcomer and Sabre uses that fire to start running Kayos the f*** over. Heavy big boot. Kayos coming back and hits a hangman’s hip attack for two. Huge suplex. Split leg drop for two. Kayos getting frustrated and losing his cool as Saraya won’t stay down. Sabre kicks out if a stuff bronco buster at one! Kayos tries a seated cobra clutch…Sabre fighting back! Spine buster for two! Kayos catches a crossbody, truly impressive. Finlay roll and a slick spring moonsault finish the job.

Winner: Armani Kayos

Match 3: Travis Jacobs vs Landon Hale 

Lot of fresh faces in Worcester tonight. Hale trying to tie up that arm and Travis is quickly getting out of trouble. Travis blocks the arm drag, Landon tries the double knees to the back but Travis dodges and one arm slams him. Jacobs is strong. Hale having a bad time as Travis chops him up. Hale stuns him with a boot. Kick to the back of the head! Sunset flip into the ring and another head kick! Hale tries the German but settles for a cross body. Travis tries a pumphandle but Hale reverses to a backstabber! Reverse Hidden Blade into the corner! Slingshot forearm into the back of the head gets Landon another W! Good showing for Travis but it’s really good to see Landon’s fans growing week over week.

Winner: Landon Hale

Hale reminds us that the REAL Love Doug is back. And they talked a bit…and they decided to team up as the Love Doctors to take a run at all the tag glory and gold that Wrestling Open has to offer! 

Match 4: Kingpin Brian Milonas vs Mortar

Mortar has wanted a piece of the kingpin for weeks. It this going to be too big of a bite? Mortar is right in Milonas’ face and unloading but Kingpin just seats him off eventually. Hard whips, big slams, clubbing blows, the crowd very much wants this win for Mortar but Milonas is unrelenting. Mortar stuns him! 619! Top rope elbow! He goes for a discus lariat but Milonas rakes the eyes. Ref Scott tries to stop him but Milonas throws the ref down. Call for the bell 

Winner: Mortar (by DQ)

Milonas isn’t done. Huge swinging side slam and he drops the earthquake splash and walks out in a chorus of boos. Mortar sure doesnt look like the winner right now. 

Match 5: Zayda Steele vs Amira

Zayda says she’s gonna be nice tonight before she sucker smacks Amira. Bad move. Amir chases her out of the ring and batters her on the apron. Amira not letting up. Steele uses the ropes for leverage and going for the eyes. Amira landing some heavy chops. Zayda with a hangman’s backstabber for two. Step on the back and delivering multiple short stomps to the back of the head. Amira dodges the kill shot…trading forearms…lariat! Big slam! Zayda dodges a dive and hits a cross body for two. Zayda runs up in the corner…Amira catches her there and hits a sitout bomb for the win! 

Winner: Amira

Match 6: Sammy Diaz (w/ Brother Greatness) vs RJ Rude (w/ Rex Lawless) 

RJ Rude has a bone to pick with the church. The chain of Tyree Taylor is nowhere to be seen. I don’t think Sammy has a real chance here to stop RJ’s momentum. Brother Greatness is a distraction as he runs away from Rex and RJ is now on the receiving end of a top five beatdown.  Greatness calling to make him suffer. Rude finally hits a jawjacker and back elbow. Diaz snatches up a cloverleaf! RJ refuses to tap. He’s too damn tough! Sammy just slapping him repeatedly and RJ unloaded a crack that sends Diaz right into the ropes! Lariats! Greatness is upset as RJ hits a lionsault for two. Sammy still fighting…RJ with an enziguri…top rope rana! Killswitch style headlock driver for the win! RJ staring a hole in Brother Greatness as he tries to get his man out of there. 

Winner: RJ Rude

 Match 7: Paris Van Dale vs Notorious Mimi

It’s always a good time when Mimi is around. Paris is having a rough start as our angel is throwing knees to the gut and just manhandling Van Dale. Paris with a cheap shot and just starts dragging Mimi around by the hair. Corner double knees for two. Split leg drop for another near fall. Mimi fighting back…crossbody for two! Paris with a facebuster and applies that crossface choke for the tap out.

Winner: Paris Van Dale

Paris on the mic and no one wants to hear it. It’s a good thing she calls out Kennedi Copeland…cause surprise, Copeland is HERE! Thez press drops Paris and sends her running. Kennedi says that she wanted beat Paris…but now she doesn’t care about that. She says her motivation is to return the favor and make Paris BLEED. Are we getting First Blood at Open???

 Brad Hollister is here to talk about how he will dethrone Ichiban at Episode 100. He plans to spend the next several weeks returning to his original mission of destroying all our heroes. Tonight, he’s breaking our action figures.

Match 8: Big Bacon Brad Hollister vs Gal

This is starting off badly for Bradley. Gal tossing him around until Bacon hits a German. Gal throwing hard chops. Bacon Reversing and taunting everyone who can hear him talking s***.  He loses focus and turns to the crowd as Gal pops back and unloads a huge lariat for two! Gal dodges the jackhammer and hits a blue Thunder for two! Brad trying for a kill shot on the apron but Gal sends him back into the ring…and comes right into the jackhammer for the three. Bradford Baconbits is gonna be on a tear for the next month.

Winner: Brad Hollister

Match 9: YDNB (Griffin McCoy & Ellis Taylor) vs The OG’s (Alec Price & Ichiban) 

I love this tandem of the IWTV & Wrestling Open champions. YDNB is getting beat to hell in the early moments. Double punches on the corners. Griffin holds the ropes and Price goes flying out into an apron Pk. McCoy hitting some high power moves on Price, with a great press slam into the top rope. Ichiban trying to help but Price is getting victimized. Double hangman’s ddt off the top for two. Price with a double rana! Tag to Ichiban!  NUmber one with a double crossbody to the floor! High angle dropkick from the heavens! McCoy escapes the Ichiban Kai but eats a tornado ddt. Taylor in to help out and Ichiban eating so many suplexes and a double chokeslam that nearly ends thing but the Prize makes the save. McCoy tossed. German to Taylor! Ichiban with a destroyer! Handspring lariat from Price! Ichiban hits a leg lariat on McCoy as Price dives out at Ellis for the win! With 30 seconds left!

Main Event: Pedro Dones & Miracle generation (Dustin Waller & Kylon King) vs Ray Jaz & Swipe Right (Ricky Smokes & Brad Baylor) 

WOW, the three most punchable faces on Wrestling Open in the same ring at the same time. Pedro wants Jaz. Jaz does not want this fight so he tags Smokes in to take a beatdown from the shot caller and company. Baylor tries his luck against the IWTV tag champ but that’s a bad time too. Pedro with a great corner spear to Baylor before Kylon hits a northern lights for two. Smokes distracts ref bill and Jaz attacks Kylon from the outside. Red Team takes the advantage. Hard chops from Kylon but he runs into a snap powerslam. King trying to fight them all off but Jaz swarms with stomps. Smokes with a slingshot spear for two. Kylon with a double neckbreaker! Jaz tries to stop it but Dones tags in! Jaz escapes as Dones unloads on Swipe Right! Double crossbody! Ray tries to blindside but Waller meets him with a boot. Flying headbutt from Dones to the floor! Pedro with a Michanoku driver for two. Waller caught into a swinging side slam…too rope elbow for two! They’re going for the kill…Waller flips free and Kylon is in hot! Tornado ddt off the ropes! Triple enziguri to Brad! MG with the Powerplex and Pedro adds a top rope splash for the w—Jaz breaks it up! It’s a waterfall of finishes! Suplex cutter! Spear into a knee! Twisting brain buster! Jaz launches himself in with the sunset flip backslide and catches Dones for the three. Boooooooooooooooooo! Solidly good main event but godddddd I hate watching Ray Jaz win. BOooooooooooOOOOOOooooOOOOOOOOOO!

Winners: Ray Jaz and Swipe Right

 Swipe Right isn’t for with the tag champs and they keep brawling in the ring as the bells rings over and over. The locker room empties to break this up! They can barely keep them apart! Swipe Right sent to the back but they are convinced they have the champs numbers. Just when you think the show is over, the fight spills through the curtain again and Kylon dives into everyone! The IWTV tag own the ring as Swipe Right is dragged off. Good episode this week. A lot of new faces, which you love to see. Also worth noting that we are starting to see the results of Open’s call for more female talent to help expand their roster. The Eagle was hopping for another week, with another large turnout for people who has never seen an indie wrestling show before. Until next week!
