11/2 NJPW SUPER JR. TAG LEAGUE RESULTS FROM OSAKA, POWER STRUGGLE PREDICTIONS

11/2/23 Results from New Japan's Super Jr. Tag League; Finals determined and Predictions for Power Struggle From Osaka, Japan:

On English commentary, for the first time is Walker Stewart, with Chris Charlton on color.   Stewart will be replacing Kevin Kelly in the long term.  

1 - Hiromu Takahashi and Yota Tsuji vs. Gedo and Taiji Ishimori

Tsuji pins Gedo after a Curb Stomp.

2 -  Tomohiro Ishii, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada vs. Dick Togo, Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL

Tanahashi forces Togo to tap out to the Texax Cloverhold.

3 -  Boltin Oleg, Oskar Leube, Ren Narita and Shota Umino vs. Callum Newman, Great O-Khan, Jeff Cobb and Will Ospreay

Ospreay comes to the ring with two belts, one with the United States Flag and one with the United Kingdom Flag.

Umino pins Newman after hitting a Blaze Blade.

Super Jr. Tag League 2023 Matches

4 - The DKC and Ryusuke Taguchi vs. TAKA Michinoku and DOUKI 

DOUKI pins DKC with Suplex de La Luna.

Just 5 Guys earn 2 points, finishing with 4 points.

DKC and Taguchi finish with 4 points.

5 - MUSASHI and YOH vs. Titan and BUSHI 

Tetsuya Naito and Yota Tsuji come to the ring with their teammates.

YOH pins BUSHI with a Direct Driver

YOH and MUSASHI earn 2 points, finishing with 8 points.

Titan and BUSHI finish with 10 points, and they are eliminated.

6 - Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles vs. Drilla Moloney and Clark Conners

Zack Sabre Jr. comes to the ring with TMDK. 

Eagles pins Moloney with a quick cradle.

TMDK earn 2 points, finishing with 8 points.

War Dogs finish with 10 points, and they are eliminated.

7 - Kevin Knight and KUSHIDA vs. Francesco Akira and TJP

Cobb and Ospreay are in the corner of Catch 22.

Good match. Akira hits a Speedfire on KUSHIDA.   Akira and TJP hit a 2X2 on Knight.

Akira pins Knight.

Catch 22 earn 2 points, finishing with 12 points.

Jettsetters finish with 10 points.

This win guarantees a place in the Finals for Catch 22.

8 - Master Wato and El Desperado vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru and SHO

Another good back and forth match.   EVIL tries to interfere.  Wato sends SHO into EVIL.  Wato hits a German Suplex pin.  SHO kicks out at two.  Wato hits Recientemente II.   The referee is pulled from the ring by Kanemaru.  EVIL, Togo and Yujiro attack Wato.   Crowd is pissed off.  Desperado makes the save but Togo hits a low blow.  Kanemaru hits Desperado with the whiskey bottle.   EVIL hits Everything is Evil on Wato.  SHO is dragged on top of Wato.   Referee is thrown in the ring.

SHO pins Wato.

House of Torture earns 2 points, finishing with 12 points.

Wato and Desperado finishes with 12 points.

House of Torture will face Catch 22 in the Finals on Saturday at Power Struggle 2023.

Catch 22 runs to the ring to face House of Torture but the villains escape the ring.

Predictions for Power Struggle 2023 on November 4, 2023:

IWGP UK/US Heavyweight Championship:  Shota Umino vs. Will Ospreay

As reported by Mike Johnson, Will Ospreay's contract is coming due in February.   Ospreay has been more of a babyface in New Japan and been facing new faces like Yota Tsuji and Shota Umino.   I believe this is Ospreay giving back to the younger New Japan stars in having them showcase their skills with him.   Tsuji looked like a star after his match with Ospreay.   Umino will get the same treatment.   However, Ospreay will not lose here.   He will keep the title till Wrestle Kingdom.

NEVER Openweight 6-man Tag Team Championship:  Shane Haste, Mikey Nichols and Zack Sabre Jr.  vs. Tomohiro Ishii, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada

I expect the champions to retain.   Okada will need a belt to defend at Wrestle Kingdom.  He will keep the title till he gets back into the World Title picture.

IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship:  Taiji Ishimori vs. Hiromu Takahashi

I can see Ishimori winning the belt here.  Then having a rematch against Hiromu at Wrestle Kingdom in a singles match or a multi-man match.  With the Bone Soldier winning that will give Bullet Club some momentum.   However, I do see Hiromu winning back the belt at Wrestle Kingdom so he can pose with Tetsuya Naito at the end of the show.

Super Jr. Tag League 2023 Finals:   Catch 22 vs. House of Torture

SHO is the KOPW 2023 Champion.  House of Torture does not need the tag belts.  Catch 22 will win Super Jr. Tag League and will get their rematch against War Dogs at Wrestle Kingdom.
