10/31 NJPW SUPER JR. TAG LEAGUE RESULTS FROM TOYAMA, JAPAN

10/31/23 Results from New Japan's Super Jr. Tag League 2023 from Toyama, Japan:

1 - Tomoaki Honma, Togi Makabe and Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Boltin Oleg, Oskar Leube and Yuto Nakashima

Honma pins Nakashima after a Kokeshi from the middle rope.

2 - Ren Narita and Shota Umino vs. Callum Newman and Great O-Khan

Umino pins Newman after hitting a running uppercut to the back of the head, which is now called The Blaze Blade.

3 - Toru Yano, YOSHI-HASHI and Tomohiro Ishii vs. Dick Togo, Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL

YOSHI-HASHI forces Togo to tap out to the Butterfly Lock.

Super Jr. Tag League 2023 Matches:

4 - MUSASHI and YOH vs. The DKC and Ryusuke Taguchi

YOH put Taguchi in the Paradise Lock.  MUSASHI and YOH drouble teamed DKC.  Taguchi could not free himself.  MUSASHI hits a splash on DKC.  YOH hits a Direct Driver.

YOH pins DKC.

MUSASHI and YOH earn 2 points, with 6 points total.

DKC and Taguchi 

YOH's music plays and Taguchi was still in the Paradise Lock.  YOH went to Milano Collection A.T. to tell him to free Taguchi.   Milano untied Taguchi who looked embarrassed.   Hilarious stuff.

5 - TAKA Michinoku and DOUKI vs. Titan and BUSHI

Tetsuya Naito comes to the ring with Titan and BUSHI.

Fun match.  BUSHI hits a Code Breaker on TAKA and Titan hits Angel Inmortal.

BUSHI pins TAKA. 

Titan and BUSHI earn 2 points, with 8 points total.

Just 5 Guys remain at 2 points.

 6 - Kevin Knight and KUSHIDA vs. Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles

Another good match.  

Knight pins Fujita after a Spike DDT.

Jetsetters earn 2 points, with 8 total.

TMDK remains at 6 points.

7 – Drilla Moloney and Clark Conners vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru and SHO

War Dogs come to the ring in House of Torture T-shirts.

The match quickly becomes a fight between both Bullet Club factions and spills into the crowd.  Both teams did everything they could to get the advantage.  SHO and Conners kept trying for low blows.  Conners grabs his belt.  The referee tries to take it away.   Kanemaru hits the Suntori Surprise in the face.  Blinded, Conners goes for a spear but hits the referee.  Conners rolls to the floor.   Moloney superkicks both Kanemaru and SHO.  The rest of House of Torture hits the ring and beat down Moloney.   Togo was about to hit Moloney in the groin but Gedo makes the save.   EVIL and Yujiro argue with Gedo.   Conners and Moloney hit spears on EVIL and Yujiro.  Gedo throws chairs in the ring.  Conners beats on SHO and Kanemaru with the chair.  War Dogs low blow Togo.  War Dogs go for Full Clip on Kanemaru, but everyone jumps on the apron.   Referee is distracted.  Kanemaru low blows Moloney.  Conners comes off the top rope but Kanemaru knees him in the groin.   Kanemaru rolls Conners into a small package.

Kanemaru pins Conners.

House of Torture earns 2 points, with 10 total now tied for the lead.

War Dogs remain at 8 points.

War Dogs have lost by pinfall 3 times during this tournament.   The team that wins this tournament should get a shot at the IWGP Jr. Tag Titles.  However, since 3 teams have pinned War Dogs, those teams should have a claim to a title match as well.   I could see a multi-team match at Wrestle Kingdom 18.

8 - Master Wato and El Desperado vs. Francesco Akira and TJP

Great match.   Akira and Desperado had words before the match.  Catch 22 seem a bit slower due to their injuries.   They fought on the top rope, and Wato ended  up on Desperado's shoulders.  Akira came off the top rope with the Leaning Tower on Wato.    TJP and Akira went for 2X2 on Wato, but Desperado pushed Wato out of the way and took the double shot to the face.   TJP hit a Final Cut on Wato, with Akira hitting a double stomp.   TJP goes for a pin but Wato kicks out.   Akira misses a Fireball.  Akira and Wato exchange reversals.  Akira locks Wato in an STF.   Desperado tries for a save but TJP locks him in the Octopus Lock.  Wato reverses into Vendeval.   Desperado reverses into Numero Dos.   Akira is the legal man and gets to the ropes.  

Desperado tags in and hits Guitarra de Angel on Akira.  Two count.  Desperado with an Olymic Slam.  Two count.  TJP makes the save and hits a double dropkick.   All four men are down and out.  

Akira and Desperado trade strikes.   Wato tags in and hits a springboard uppercut.  Wato hits a deadlift German with a bridge.  TJP makes the save.   Desperado hits a spear on TJP.  Akira reverses out of Pinche Loco and hits a DDT.   Akira with tope suicida on Desperado.  TJP hits a Detonation Kick on Wato.  Catch 22 goes for a 2X2 but Wato ducks.   TJP catches Akira and whips him into Wato with a Fireball to the face.   Ouch!   They follow with 2X2.  

Akira pins Wato.

Catch 22 earn 2 points, with 8 points total.

Wato and Desperado remain tied for the lead at 10 points.

Akira gets the mic and tells Desperado "Happy Halloween m****er f****ker".  He points to Wato and tells Desperado to get his friend out of his ring.  TJP whispers something in Akira's ear, probably telling him to keep it respectful.  TJP tells the crowd in his country Halloween is a special holiday and he has a gift for Toyama.   Callum Newman comes to the ring in a Suicide mask (Christopher Daniels' old alter ego), and carrying buckets of candy.   They throw candy to the crowd.   O-Khan who was on commentary, comes in to to the roll call of United Empire.

Catch 22 has some work to do as they will face House of Torture tomorrow.   They will need to win out the final nights of the tournament.
