Wrestling Open “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”

10/26/23 Worcester, MA

It’s Thursday in Worcester. People are costumed up. We have a spotlight match between Uptown Andy Brown and Bobby Buffet. Buffet hits a great pounce and Brown with a crazy double stomp to the back of the head. Then the thing you never want to see happens and Brown lands wrong and immediately realizes something’s off. He heads right to the back and leaves the ref to call the match off. These two will tangle again but safety first, y’all. Paul Crockett and Brother Greatness are at commentary for the main card. Rich Palladino is your announcer. THIS….is Wrestling Open!

Match 1: Dustin Waller vs Brad Baylor

Brad says that he is in Dustin’s head and tries to try keep away on his comeuppance. Dustin finally gets his hands on the self tan Satan and unloads chops, dive and a slingshot somersault. Baylor is getting a lesson on why Waller is one of the IWTV tag team champions. Brad with an eye poke and starts to lay in a beatdown but Waller is quick on the rollups. Snap ddt. Running shooting star for two. Baylor tries to roll away but Dustin is all over him. Ref Bill has to pull Dustin off of him and the momentary distraction is enough for Baylor to roll up Dustin deep and steal the three. Dustin looks DEVASTATED at this loss. 

Winner: Brad Baylor

 

Match 2: Gary Jay vs Mortar

Mortar wants a fight? This is a hell of an opponent. Mortar with a hard toss across the ring. Gary Jay unloading some stuff chops and strikes. Roaring elbow for two. Mortar with a huge belly to belly toss! High cross body! Bottom rope moonsault! High knee from Jay! He stuns Mortar but eats a F5 for the win! A sprint but a hard hitting fight. 

Winner: Mortar

Pedro Dones is out here. He’s annoyed that Ray Jaz said whatever he said last week. If Jaz needs a reason to have another match, he dares him to come out and get that reason. Jaz is here and brings a chair to ringside. “This better be good.” Pedro has a TIP for Ray. He loves the White Eagle and thinks of us as a second home….but his first home is most important. And he says he will risk EVERYTHING. If Dones can’t beat Jaz…he will NEVER come back to Wrestling Open. Forever. Jaz says “that’s IT?” Pedro says he will stop. He will quit wrestling entirely and just go home. This is how badly he wants to kick Jaz’s a**. Jaz says it won’t be tonight but it’s on. Dones says this is about family and it will be a Thanksgiving Night Street Fight!!!!!

 

Who is Percy’s partner? He hired someone. Someone who wanted a change. Someone who wanted to learn how to be more aggressive. CPA??? Percy has given him a more aggressive death metal song but CPA just looks confused and uncomfortable. 

Match 3: Percy Ryan & CPA vs Shook Crew (Bryce Donovan & Bobby Orlando) 

Shook Crew encourages CPA to tear off his shirt but Percy says he shouldn’t do that. It’s not aggressive. Percy takes a Bobby punch to his precious jawline. What a crime! CPA gets aggressive with a series of confusing somersaults. CPA and Bobby shake hands after an exchange and Percy hates that too. Orlando plants that jawline firmly into Bryce’s knee. Percy grabs CPA and forces him to take the bullet of a splash for him. “That’s how you DO it” says Percy and hopes that CPA can follow up. Percy cuts off the Form 1099 and just boots Bobby in the head. This is ruthless aggression…I think. I don’t see anyone named Ruth. Tag to Bryce and he starts landing huge kicks that drop Percy. He just pulls him up from the ground and chokeslams him back there for two. Shook calling to break his jawline! Percy with the escape and tag! CPA hits a double dropkick! Tear the shirt? Percy says no! Bobby dropkicks CPA into Percy and snags a rollup on the tax man for the three. Percy calls him an idiot before leaving him. CPA is bleeding from that last shot and he walks out, despondent at yet another loss.

Winners: Shook Crew

Match 4: Tyree Taylor (w/ Brother Greatness) vs Dan Barry 

Tyree mocks Dan’s age…aren’t they the same age? Taylor says Dan can’t take him down…Barry quickly picks the foot and Tyree is on his a**. That sparks a true beatdown from Tyree. This is very one sided. Tyree doing everything he can to just embarrass Dan Barry. He may have gassed himself out beating on Dan….Suoerkick on the ropes! A trio of dives to the floor on the linebacker of praise! The kneesault! Kick out! Dan’s gonna pick him up? No. His back starts to give. Tyree Witt a spear into the corner! He wants a superplex…Dan with a double chop…he hits a burning hammer!!!! WHAAAAAT??? Tyree kicks out! Tyree is hurting. Dan to the top…….swanton hits nothing! Tyree winds up….Barry catches it…they are staggering each other but Tyree blasts a lariat and destroys Dan with a Brooklyn Zoo bomb. This was awesome.

Winner: Tyree Taylor

 

Match 5: Brick City(Victor Chase & Julio Cruz w/ Big Bacon)(c) vs Fancy Ryan Clancy & Dezmond Cole (for the Eliminator Cup Championships)

Clancy starts strong but Brick City is a little more business-minded right now. Victor and Julio taking turns beating down the fancy man. Clancy has a moment of hope with a reversal to a ddt…tag to Boofa! Chase sent flying…rolling legdrop to Cruz! Kick out! Clancy heads to the top…flies in….whips boofa into a boot and German! Boofa slams Cruz! Chase grabs a brick from under the ring…He passes off to Cruz who blasts Cole while Bacin has the ref distracted. This is how we retain the medals. Big Business is back on the W side of the quarterlies.

Winners: Brick City

 

Match 6: Landon Hale vs Joe Ocasio (Special Ref Love Doug)

Doug calling it down the middle as Landon and Joel go to war again. Landon gives Doug some hell for being out of position and that is giving Ocasio some openings. Huge clothesline and slams and splashes from Joel, who is wishing Hale a painful happy birthday. Doug is kinda of…out of position a lot since he’s really not into this.  Joe is just running through Landon at this point. Huge shoulder breaker. Joe goes for a top rope splash and Hale dodges! Landon coming back! Drop toe hold to the buckle! Cross splash to the spine! Slingshot bulldog! Hale eats an electric chair…but a handspring stunner drops Joe! Exploder to the buckles! Hale eats a facebuster! Huge German! Joe with the flying headbutt but Landon gets the rope! Joe choking Hale like he did to Doug a few weeks back. Doug pulls Joe off and says that Doug can’t touch him. Who does Doug think he is? Doug looks like he’s gonna deck Ocasio. Joe says that LMK broke his heart because Doug isn’t a real Man. Doug with the rebound lariat! He leaves Joel prone for Hale…PHOENIX SPLASH!!!!! Hale gets the three! Doug and Hale have a moment but this is Doug’s time…they hug!!! Love Doug is back!

Match 7: Stetson Ranch (Hammer Tunis, Danny Miles & Steven Stetson) vs BRG and Waves & Curls (Traevon Jordan & Jaelyn Brandyn)

Waves & Curls come out to the Mariah Carey Christmas song. Wrong holiday! We still loved it. They redo the entrance. Let’s just do long entrances. There’s a guy dress like macho man who gives Traevon a creamer cup to chug. Only in Worcester y’all. Stetson is in dire need of a snickers. BRG wants to fight the cowboy but Stetson says I already beat you. Hammer and Danny are happy to get some spotlight while the boss hoss watches on. JB gets caught up in the corner…this is a branding as the ranch tries to break him. Tag to Jordan! Everyone’s dropped! Hammer escapes the chokeslam but eats a leg lariat! He goes for a charge but Danny with a crossbody body from the side! BRG unloading some sweet victory. Miles eats a triple bomb! JB tosses into the pin to break it. Jordan with the chokeslam on Tunis! BRG dodges the lariat! Tunis about to eat a kill switch but Danny runs in and gets a huge handful of tights for the win.

Winner: Stetson Ranch

 

Main Event: Ichiban(c) vs TJ Crawford (for the Wrestling Open Championship)

Long face off here…Crawford WANTS this. It’s a slow start. Ichiban out grappling early but TJ with a gut kick to take the advantage…and Ichiban flips right out. NUMBER ONNNNNNE. This speeds up hard as the my fly through moves trying to gain an edge. Right to a staredown…Ichiban pops to the top…flying forearm drops the challenger! TJ with a discus lariat! Ichiban trying to pop up to the top again but TJ sweeps the legs. Hard knees to the back. TJ working that back over….Ichiban with a drop toe hold. Quick rollup makes ref Tyler jump. Huge rebound back body drop! Crawford catches a handspring into a blue Thunder bomb! TJ getting frustrated as the champ kicks out. He mercilessly stomps the fingers. Straight rights to the head. TJ misses an elbow drop! Ichiban with a head kick! TJ eats a hiiiiiiiigh cross body for two. They struggle back up…slow trading of loud chops back and forth. TJ with the shining wizard! Kick out! TJ stuns Ichiban…he goes for a flying forearm but lands right into an Ichiban Kai for the win! Big Business won’t be holding all the gold. Big Bacon is upset and comes from the back to console his fallen teammate…TJ worked his a** off tonight and even Bacon knows it. TJ heads to the back as Bacon looks at the champ. 

Winner: Ichiban

Bacon is on the apron and has the mic. Red Sox/Yankees. Celtics/Lakers. Bacon/Ichiban. Hollister says they are gonna dance forever and he has to respect it. He has a business proposition. One more shot. Their last match was huge. Important. A high bar that they flew over. Bacon wants Ichiban not now. Not next week. He wants him in 5 weeks at WRESTLING OPEN 100.

Ichiban says “YES”
