10/28 NJPW SUPER TAG LEAGUE RESULTS FROM FUKUSHIMA, JAPAN

10/28/23 Results from New Japan's Super Jr. Tag League 2023 From Fukushima Japan:

1 -  Tomoaki Honma, Togi Makabe and Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Boltin Oleg, Oskar Leube and Yuto Nakashima

Honma forces Nakashima to tap out to a Boston Crab

2 - Ren Narita and Shota Umino vs. Callum Newman and Great O-Khan

Umino pins Newman with his version of the Hidden Blade.

Umino has been facing United Empire a lot on this tour because he will challenge Will Ospreay for the IWGP U.K. Title.    Callum Newman, in these matches, has been getting a lot of ring experience with Narita and Umino, all being overseen by O-Khan.  Newman’s timing is getting better in a New Japan ring.

3 - Toru Yano, YOSHI-HASHI and Tomohiro Ishii vs. Dick Togo, Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL

Yano low blows Togo and pins him with a small package.

Super Jr. Tag League 2023 Matches:

4 -  The DKC and Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Francesco Akira and TJP

Akira pins DKC after a 2X2.

Catch 22 earns 2 points, with 6 points total.

DKC and Taguchi remain at 4 points.

5 -  MUSASHI and YOH vs. TAKA Michinoku and DOUKI

Good match.

TAKA hits a Michinoku Driver on YOH.  DOUKI with a Daybreak on MUSASHI, who kicks out at two.  TAKA hits a super kick on MUSASHI.  DOUKI follows with Suplex de La Luna.  

DOUKI pins MUSASHI.

Just 5 Guys earn their first 2 points.

YOH and MUSASHI remain at 4 points.

6 -  Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru and SHO

The rest of House of Torture hit the ring.  A bunch of shenanigans occur.  Kanemaru tried the Suntori Surprise but hit SHO instead.  Fujita takes out Kanemaru.  Eagles school boys SHO for the pin.

Team TMDK gets 2 points, with 4 points total.

House of Torture remain at 6 points.

7 - Kevin Knight and KUSHIDA vs. Titan and BUSHI

Another fun match.  BUSHI hits a Codebreaker on KUSHIDA and Titan hits El Immortal off the top rope.

BUSHI pins KUSHIDA.

BUSHI and Titan earn 2 points, with 4 points total

Jetsetters remain at 6 points.

8 - Master Wato and El Desperado vs. Drilla Moloney and Clark Conners

War Dogs tried to rip Desperado’s mask which got heat from the crowd.    Good match.  Desperado got Conners in Numero Dos.   Conners tapped but referee took a bump on the floor.  Moloney hit Desperado in the head with a chair.  Conners ripped off Desperado’s mask showing his face.  Conners put a dazed Desperado on a chair and hit his head with another chair.   Referee is pushed back in the ring and Conners goes for a pin.   Desperado kicks out at two.

Moloney hits a spear on Desperado.   War Dogs were about to hit Desperado with their belts but Wato makes the save knocking Moloney out of the ring.   Desperado pulls his long hair over his face.

Conners blocks a Pinche Loco but Desperado punches him in the jaw.  Then hits Pinche Loco on the belt.

Desperado pins Conners.

Wato and Desperado earn 2 points, with 8 points total.  They take the lead in the tournament.   They also may earn a tag team title shot with this win.

War Dogs remain at 6 points.

After the match, Desperado covers his head with Wato’s T-Shirt.   He addresses Wato on the mic and gives him an honest handshake.

After being hated rivals for the past two years, Desperado and Wato may go on to win the tournament and face War Dogs at Wrestle Kingdom.
