By James Kurokawa on 2023-10-25 08:54:00

10/24/23 Results of New Japan's Super Jr. Tag League -  Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan:

1 - Oskar Leube, Shota Umino and Ren Narita vs. Callum Newman, HENARE and Great O-Khan

O-Khan forced Leube to tap out to a head and arm choke.

2 - Yota Tsuji, Shingo Takagi, and Tetsuya Naito vs. Yuya Uemura, Taichi and SANADA

Both teams battle to a time limit draw.

This was a battle between Uemura and Tsuji in the final moments, as both former young lions were in the ring until the referee called for the bell.   As much as there is connection between Ren Narita and Shota Umino, so will there be comparisons between Yota Tsuji and Yuya Uemura.

3 - New Japan World Television Championship:   Boltin Oleg vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

Oleg used his power to his advantage early in the match.   He traded blows with ZSJ on the floor.  ZSJ ducked a chop and Oleg hit the ringpost.  ZSJ began dissecting the arm.  Oleg hit some power moves, which ZSJ sold well.  ZSJ tried applying submissions but Oleg powered out. They traded blows. ZSJ applies a cross arm breaker.  Oleg taps out.

Zack Sabre Jr. retains the New Japan World Television Championship.

Zack Sabre Jr. made Oleg look like a monster.  Oleg still seems tentative in the ring, but getting much better.

Catch 22 attacks before the bell.  They battle all around ringside.  HENARE screams at his teammates to attack, while dropping some bad words on the English commentary.   War Dogs attack Newman at ringside.  It finally settles into a tag match.  The trade finishers.  Two counts.  Conners pushes TJP into the referee.  Conners hits No Chaser  on TJP.   Moloney with the Drilla Killa on Akira.   They hit Full Clip on TJP.

After the match, Moloney hits a Drilla Killa on Callum Newman.   They wrap a chair around TJP's head and Conners tells O-Khan and HENARE to stay out of the ring, or they will break his neck.  Conners hits Akira with a chair and O-Khan and HENARE clear the ring.  War Dogs escape to the back.

This pairing of War Dogs and Catch 22 is the best option (with lots of heat) for Wrestle Kingdom at this point.  War Dogs have already beaten Catch 22 twice.  TJP and Akira will have to win the tournament to get their revenge and get their titles back at Wrestle Kingdom.
