ACTION Wrestling “SHARPSBURG SHOWDOWN”
9/29/23 - Sharpsburg, GA
Now Available on IWTV.live
I have been massively behind on Action lately….then again, they’ve run 3 shows in the last 4 weeks. ACTION has left their normal stomping ground of Tyrone and are doing a high school school. Lot of kids in this audience and that is always a fun and sometimes unpredictable vibe.
Match 1: Bobby Flaco vs Kasey Owens
TWE’s Kasey Owens making his ACTION debut! Owens just stomping Bob right out of the gate. This is actually all Owens and the crowd does not like what’s happening here…but if you’re gonna make a statement in ACTION, Flaco is the person to do it against. And then he makes a mistake and tries to disrespect Bob…nope….FLaco with a high cross body for two. Suplex reversal to a stunner and a AYOOOOOOO cutter from the second ends Owen’s night out of the blue. Still…..good showing from Owens.
Winner: Bobby Flaco
Match 2: Spectre vs “Duckman” Rob Killjoy
Another debut tonight, Next Up’s Spectre is taking on the returning Rob Killjoy….who is now DUCKMAN. He may be less Ugly but we’re all still quacking and Spectre doesn’t like it. Great quick takedowns and pin attempts from killjoy. Spectre has a bit of a size advantage but he’s getting quickly picked by his veteran opponent. Spectre drags Rob to the post and just bends him back around the steel. Owwwwww. Rob comes running and Spectre just one arm flings him back to the floor. Hard slam to the apron. Spectre eats a moonsault and Duckpin is heating up. Chop to the back and a hangman’s knee to the back of the head! SPectre kicks out of it, he gets a head scissor off the rope and spikes Killjoy into the mat. They fight over a backside….Duckman runs up the buckles and flips it into a pin for the three!!!
Winner: Rob Killjoy
Match 3: Devlyn Macabre vs Kelsey Raegan
I’ve seen this match a couple of times before in other promotions and I’m down for these two to have another round in their series. I think very highly of Devlyn’s rise this year and it’s clear she is getting more comfortable at riling up the crowd. This is Kelsey’s official debut for Action…but I’m not thinking it’s gonna be a good night for her. Kelsey with the quick roll ups right away…..Devlyn just cuts this off with a pull of the hair and starts unloading rights. Kelsey turns her right around and drops forearms. Devlyn powders but Kelsey hits a moonsault to the floor. Even Dylan Hales is popping hard for this match. Macabre wraps the arm in the rope and just cranks on it. DDT to the arm..the two count is really just to make Kelsey expend energy. Devlyn is laser focused on the limb and Kelsey is feeling every shot hard. Kelsey booting free and hits a cross body….but her arm is making it hard to follow up on any of this. She’s swinging with the good arm. Running boot wash! Rolling slam into a head kick for two! Devlyn tries a rollup but gets stuck in a crossface. Macabre claws to the ropes and she is MAD. Devlyn tosses her headgear across the ring to distract the ref. She goes under the ring for something, Kelsey tries to intercept but gets a face full of black mist. Devlyn spikes her head into the mat….eat da feet into a koi clutch and Kelsey’s light go out. First pure banger of the night. Loved this.
Winner: Devlyn Macabre
Match 4: Alex Kane (w/ the Wall) vs Damyan Tangra
Speaking of bangers….these two have a long story of bad blood and betrayal. And with that betrayal comes Kane’s Good Hand posse…and of course Suge D gets the mic. He says it’s time to teach these kids a lesson in destiny. Suge and Kevin Ryan head to the back to prep for their tag title match and leave the Wall at ringside to be an enforcer. Kane doesn’t let Tangra get into the ring before he attacks. Tangra looking staggered and Kane starts warming up the Suplex Machine early in this contest, and just folding up his former partner over and over. Tangra is looking rocked as Kane clubs him in the side of the head over and over. Tangra starting to throw some leg kicks on the MLW champ but it opens him up to eating more suplexes. Tangra blocks a ripcord…pump kick! Kane is getting shook! He wants a DVD but Kane just tosses Tangra overhead. A lariat sends Damyan to the floor and he’s staring at the lights as the ref counts. Kane with a knee to the gut as he tries to get back in…Kane is more than happy to win by count out. Damyan keeps coming back into the fight. He blocks an attempt to bomb him into the front row and stomps Kane into the apron! Drive by boot! Good Hand is back in full at ringside and Tangra is quickly worried. He catches Kane trying to blindside him…dragon screw! Running forearms! Kane’s knee is becoming a liability. Spinning Michanoku driver for two! Tangra to the top. The distraction game finally works and the Wall decks him. Kane hits the mark of Kane from the second rope for the win. The night has started right for the Good Hand….can Suge and Kevin bring it home for Action’s most hated faction.
Match 5: Adam Priest(c) vs Bojack (for the ACTION World Championship)
This could be a very difficult matchup for the champ but I’ve learned to stop betting against ol’ Any Style Adam Priest. This is starting out in a baaaaaad way for the champ. Everything he tries just bounces off Bojack’s frame. Huge slam and a senton from the huge man. Priest with a clutch dodge and hits the DDT right into the apron. Priest trying to capitalize but Bojack rolls away from a leg drop. Hard chop….Priest just blatantly pokes the eye. Whatever it takes. Bojack will not be overpowered though….and he certainly ain’t gonna be slammed. Bojack scoops up Priest and gets his eyes raked again. Bojack is blinded but catches Priest out of the air and tosses him back. Priest with a dropkick but Bojack rebounds and falls down into a splash. That was almost the end of the match and it would have been Priest’s fault! Priest hits a splash….Bojack sends up with Priest and blast him into the corner. Flying lariat for two! This is not a time to go up top but that’s where this fight is….Priest avoids the superplex but Bojack decks him….Priest to apron….inside out superplex!!!!! Priest barrrrrrely gets the rope with those tiny hands of his. Back to the top….Priest in a fireman’s carry…….The champ hits a sunset flips bomb! DDT of the second rope! Bojack stands right up so Priest ddt’s him again for the win! Awesome. They share a bottle of water after a huge contest.
Winner: Adam Priest
Match 6: Diego Hill vs Terry Yaki
This could be wild. Yaki and Hill with quick evasive dives and dodges. This is already fun as hell and they are still in the feel out phase. Flip ups and kips ups….Yaki hits a dropkick finally. Hill thinks he’s tossed him but Terry with a quick Denton into the ring. Yaki with a flip kick and a PK to the mush. This is VERY even, both guys having a high velocity high risk style. Hill with a spinning kick to the head. He tries a frogsplash but Yaki hits a cutter out of the air and almost gets it! Trading chops and elbows…Hill with a handspring cutter! Diego Hill with a physics defying Springboard Phoenix splash ends this. I didn’t write as much here as I could have because these two just went wild and it was a pleasure to watch them just GO. We all won here.
Winner: Diego Hill
Match 7: Colby Corino(c) vs Brogan Finlay (for the NWA Jr Heavyweight Championship)
The kids spill from the bleachers to give Corino all the high fives. Brogan is…..not as popular in this room. Finlay just takes a lap around the room….and maybe almost walks off? Brogan doesn’t like this vibe and just wants to annoy everyone by refusing to fight. He even hangs out in the front row which finally brings the champ at him. Brogan thinks he has the lockup won but Colby locks him right up and gets the crowd clapping along. Brogan is UNHAPPY. He finally waits the champ into chopping the post….and it’s a LOUD thunk. Finlay posts him proper and NOW it’s time to really take his shot. That said, he doesn’t go all the way, straight up refusing to do some of his more fan friendly moves in favor of a disrespectful punt or slap. Colby fires back up, hard slam to Finlay. Diving bulldog! Kick out! Finally blocks a Styles Clash into a role. Knees connecting! Brogan pulls off his head pad and lands a kill shot to the back of the head but they are stuck in the ropes. Brain buster! Colby kicks out proper this time. Brogan just throwing boots but Colby catches him into a Styles clash…..kick out! Rana off the top…..Brogan tries to reverse to a crab…Colby rolls through and gets the three! The kids spill out of the bleachers! The champ is here!
Winner: Colby Corino
Main Event: Culture Inc (Eli Knight & Malik Bosede w/ Nick J Holliday)(c) vs The Good Hand (Kevin Ryan & Suge D w/ Alex Kane & The Wall) (for the ACTION Tag Team Championships)
Can Good Hand go 2-0 tonight? Will Suge D finally hold gold in Action wrestling? Well, the kids are all hyped up and surrounding the tag champs as they make their entrance. Culture Inc is for the kids. Suge is SICK of this and just starts yelling at everyone on the mic. We finally get this contest going as Alex Kane slides in on commentary. Dylan Hales really wants the MLW champ to stay put….he says he will. Mose is DOUBTFUL. Culture Inc posing with the belt but flips down and dropkicks Good Hand to the floor. They go for a big dive but the Wall plays his part. Kane is RIGHT OUT OF THE BOOTH…yep, Mose was right. Kevin Ryan is isolated by the champs for the early going…Suge with a blindside on Knight from the floor to turn the tide. Ryan just taunting Bosede into exposing his partner to more pain. Eli with a desperate dive and should get the tag but the Wall is there to faceplant Malik into the apron. The ref sees nothing though….that’s the numbers game. Eli finally gets the Good Hand to collide. High angle ddt to Ryan! Tag to Malik! Suge in too but he’s taking the beating. Ryan tossed to the floor! Triangle dropkick to the wall! Suge with a counter and a hard knee. Malik trips on the rope and Suge swarms! Malik back to the top…blockbuster! Ryan makes the save! Malik left alone but Eli breaks up the crucifix finish….rolling dvd! Eli hits THAT MOONSAULT! That was beeeeeeautiful. The Wall hits the ring and tosses Malik into Eli. Good Hand loses by DQ but the champs are taking a beating now that the Wall is “allowed” to beat on people.
Winners: Culture Inc (by DQ)
Nick Holliday can’t help his boys. The Wall is ready to kill him. Suge and Ryan choking out Eli. Ring the bell over and over. Erron Wade hits the ring and saves Holliday. Damyan Tangra hits the ring! Adam Priest blasts the Wall with the Action championship! Alex Kane hits the ring and has the title belt??? This is a huuuuuuuuuge wild brawl. Priest drives off Kane. Culture Inc, Wade and Tangra deal with Suge and Ryan. Good Hand eat a double ddt from Priest and Holliday to close the show and send the kids home happy! Very good show. I should have watched this weeks ago (but life). Kane literally has to drag Suge to the back. The Wall carries Ryan to the curtain while the celebration continues. Go back and check this one out on IWTV.
