Former Ring of Honor owner and Ambassador Cary Silkin was briefly hospitalized last week, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
We'd like to send Silkin, who spent a lot of time and money to bring Ring of Honor to the masses and helped a LOT of talents on their path to becoming international stars all of our best wishes.
He is truly one of the great men who have been a positive force in professional wrestling over the last several decades. Had it not been for Silkin, ROH would have died in 2003 and instead he kept it going, along with his team, until Sinclair Broadcast Group took over ownership. At that point, Silkin remained on board as an Ambassasor and was deservingly named a member of the first class of the Ring of Honor Hall of Fame in 2022.
Silkin made a few appearances after Tony Khan acquired the company but has not regularly appeared since that time. I believe his final appearance was Grand Slam 2 during Chris Jericho vs. Claudio Castagnoli in NYC. Over the last year or so, he has been working on his memoir, which is currently in the final stages of editing.
We wish Silkin well and hope for his continued health.
