PILLMAN JR.'S NEW NAME REVEALED, HALLOWEEN HAVOC, DUSTY CLASSIC AND MORE NXT NEWS

Brian Pillman Jr. appeared in a promo during tonight's WWE NXT, doing a promo where he bashed pro wrestling and the fact his father and namesake died when he was four.  He revealed he would be using his stepfather's name, King in WWE.  PWInsiderElite.com broke yesterday (subscribe in link) that the word at the WWE PC the last few days was that Pillman's ring name would be Lexis King.  Lexis appears to be taken from the name of his late sister, who managed under the name Alexis "Lexi" Pillman, who passed away in a traffic incident several years ago:

At the onset of the show, Cody Rhodes revealed that the Dusty Tag Classic tournament would be returning and that there would be a Men's Breakout tournament after the current Women's tournament is completed.

Paul Heyman was shown speaking to Ava, The Rock's daughter, teasing a potential connection there.

Shotzi and Scarlett will be hosting the 2023 WWE NXT Halloween Havoc broadcasts on 10/24 and 10/31.  Already announced:

*WWE NXT Women's Champion Becky Lynch vs. Lyra Valkyria.

*WWE NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov vs. one of three contenders: Baron Corbin, Dijak or Carmelo Hayes.

*WWE NXT Tag Team Champions The Family, Tony D'Angelo & Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo will defend their titles against winners of a tag team battle royal.

Next week's WWE NXT will feature:

*Tag Team Battle Royal for chance at Halloween Havoc Night One WWE NXT Tag Team Championship match.

*Tegan Nox vs. Lyria Valkyria.

*Carmelo Hayes vs. Dijak vs. Baron Corbin  - Winner earns WWE NXT Championship match.
