UFC HAS BEEN TURNING CASUAL FANS INTO HARDCORE FOLLOWERS, BUT HOW?

By Kendall Jenkins on 2023-10-10 07:09:00

In the competitive world of combat sports, only a few of them match up to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The championship has so much explosiveness that you cannot begin with other forms of fighting. The raw intensity, the dramatic narratives, and the explosive action contribute highly to the global sensation that the UFC has become in this age.

In this light, many sports fans who have a knack for thrill have been constantly drawn to the sport time and again. According to recent research by Repucorm, a sports marketing research company, the MMA boasts over 300 million hardcore fans around the world.

The MMA Gives Ultimate Thrill for Blood Thirsty Fans

With the UFC, you are assured of maximum thrill. That is why fans will be all over looking for UFC odds of the fights because of what they are expecting to see.

During an MMA fight night, fans are seated around screaming at the top of their voices, calling out to their favorites to do something that will potentially black out their opponent.

“Kick him; elbow his jaw,” a fan from one side keeps on shouting. On another side, another young brunette is shouting, “Use your elbow!” From the stands, a fan is almost hiding his face from whatever is happening in the octagon.

In the match, one fighter looks quite beat, blood flowing from a nasty cut under his eyes, something that appears like a broken nose and a twisted mouth. On the contrary, his opponent looks quite fresh and strong. But the referee is doing nothing to stop the two men from fighting. The fight only ends when the man who was badly beaten finally blacks out for a few seconds.

Despite MMA fights being brutal, they are very popular. The UFC especially has crazy fights. The best are always going up against the best. The fights are always explosive.

Today, UFC events are held globally in over 26 countries. Its athletes have become world-level celebrities. When you mention people like Jon Jones, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Conor McGregor or Rounder Rousy, you will be turning heads all around.

The Nerve Wrecking Feuds

What makes UFC more thrilling are the feuds that happen among the fighters. All over UFC history, there are feuds that have sparked a lot of animosity against fighters, increasing the intensity of the fights. From trash talks to humiliating each other outside the octagon, here are some feuds that have taken over the internet.

1. Connor McGregor Vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov: Perhaps one of the greatest feuds in MMA history. As they squared up at UFC 229, the fight became perhaps the highest-selling pay-per-view of its time. The pair went on to fight for four rounds until Khabib finished off Connor. Even after the fight, there was mayhem between the two and their team members.

2. Jon Jones Vs. Daniel Cormier: This feud has been there since their first fight at UFC 121. The mind games and trash talks became very intense to the point that security had to be involved so the two could not fight before their fights. Even after retirement, the two remained big foes.

3. Chuck Liddell Vs. Tito Ortiz: This is a feud between friends turned rivals. The two were in three fights where Lidell won twice and Ortiz once.

Fights Fans Have Been Looking Forward to in 2023

The year 2022 was a great year for UFC. There were some epic fights that will go down in history as some of the greatest ones. It will be a while before fans stop talking about the Stephen Thompson vs. Kevin Holland and Ji?í Procházka vs. Glover Teixeira fights. However, 2023 has some crazy fights everyone is looking forward to:

1. Francis Ngannou vs. Jon Jones

2. Valentina Shevchenko vs. Zhang Weili

3. Leon Edwards vs. Kamaru Usman III

By the end of 2023, UFC fans will have gotten a treat of their lives.
