Spotlight Match: J George vs Bobby Buffet

Some quick reversals early but George is just bouncing off the hungry man. J George wants a retake of that spot, he’s boxing right into the abs. Nah. Bobby slaps him stupid and kicks him right into the top rope. J George with a stunner on the rope…he tries to slam the giant. No. Big cross body! Leg lariat! He hits a….banzai drop! He is too small to make that effective and he gets launched. Hard chops in the ropes! Ripcord black hole slam! J George dodges the finishing splash. Scissor Kick. He tries to slam Buffet but falls backwards and Buffet crashes on top for the three!

Winner: Bobby Buffet

Paul Crockett & Brother Greatness are on commentary. Rich Palladino is your announcer. It’s a Thursday in Worcester. Let’s do this!

Match 1: Pedro Dones vs Ray Jaz

Dones ain’t waiting and blasts Jaz during his entrance. Hit start as they brawl through the crowd. Jaz is introduced to the bar on a face first basis. Ray slaps a drink out of a fan’s hand and slams Dones into the ice. Dones slams him into the merchandise table! Jaz grabs a chair but Dones gets it back and blasts Jaz with a pair of shots! The ref calls this a no contest! Dines grabs a door and sets it up! Jaz with  powerbomb through the door! This is insane. Jaz yells that Dones is nothing and storms off.

Winner: No Contest

Dones comes to and rolls out of the ring to run to the back. This MIGHT still be going through the night! It’s clearly not OVER.

Match 2: Paris Van Dale vs Kennedi Copeland

This crowd LOVES Copeland. Paris? Not so much. She fakes out the lockup and Kennedi just runs her over with a thez press. She goes for the cross arm breaker but Paris gets the ropes. Van Dale hits her short ddt but Copeland won’t stay down. Running double knees in the corner but Only a two. Van Dale talking trash and walking her opponent down. Step on the hair and pull her up owwww. Kennedi with a page turner! PK to the arm! Kennedi lighting her up! V trigger! Surfboard curb stomp! Kennedi with the emphatic win!

Winner: Kennedi Copeland

Match 3: Joe Ocasio vs Landon Hale (w/ Loveless Douglas) 

Joe comes out aggressive but Landon is more than happy to match that fire! They are just going to war in these opening minutes. This is great back and forth stuff as Landon is really showing that he can hang with the Landmine. . Doug is saying that Landon wanted his help also that he told Landon not to do this match. Ocasio starting to take over with a shining wizard and huuuuuge toss across the ring. Splash! Landon kicks out! Exploder to the corner! Landon kicks out! Joe with a bear hug… Hale is fading.Doug trying to rally him. Hale with a handspring cutter!!! Chops and slaps back and forth but Hale hits a back cracker! 619! Joe won’t stay down! Hale popped up into a flapjack. Joe tries to end it but runs into a flying knee! Joe shoves Doug at ringside. Doug right back up and takes a shot at Joe! Oh no it’s a DQ! Hale showed so much fire in this match, how dare Doug cost him the W!

Winner: Joe Ocasio (by DQ)

Doug and Hale facing off. Hale is furious but wants to hug it out. Doug walks off as Hale turns into a flying headbutt from Ocasio. Doug just lets his “friend” lay there as Ocasio stares him down. This is a triple threat in the making.

It’s ranch time. We sure hate Stetson. 

Match 4: Steven Stetson (W/ Danny Miles) vs Brett Ryan Gosselin

BRG right in and chopping Stetson and bashing him into the buckle. BRG playing right into our desire to see our most hated people take a beating. Stetson trying to escape this whipping but BRG is staying on him. Ryan with a dive to the outside but the cowboys meets him with a headbutt! BRG is so fired up though that he’s fighting through the pain. Stetson finally lands a wicked chop that cuts Gosselin in half. Hard whip to the buckles. Saddle senton! BRG tries a sunset flip but Stetson just drops an elbow to his back. BRG won’t give up that easily. Stetson stunned but BRG’s back is showing the wear and tear. He can’t lift him but Brett is just gonna take his head off instead. Stetson runs for cover but can’t dodge the dive this time. Running superkick to a stunned cowboy for two!  Eh to the top but Stetson intercepts….we’re down to one minute left! BRG pushes him off the top. Huge elbow! This should be over but Danny Miles distracts the ref. Hammer Tunis distracts BRG from the outside as Stetson recovers and blasts the northern jersey lariat for the win. The ranch has a new ranch hand, it seems.

Winner: Steven Stetson

It’s a three on one beatdown as Tunis is officially introduced as the newest member. Let’s see how long it takes Stetson to poison yet another partnership. 

Match 5: The Church of Greatness (Tyree Taylor & Sammy Diaz w/ Brother Greatness) vs Shook Crew (Bryce Donovan & Bobby Orlando)

The church has a present for Shook Crew and presents them with one of the Even Steven scarfs. Just a message of their future maybe?  Bryce almost in trouble early due to distractions but Sammy can’t follow it up and Shook Crew takes over. Brother Greatness remains a distraction though and Tyree uses that to beat down Donovan. Huge back body drop suplex combo.  Bryce tries for the black hole slam but gets caught with a huge uranage. Tyree misses a charge and eats buckle..tag to Bobby! Diaz getting trucked but Tyree doesn’t let that continue for long. Shook crew trying to chop the big man down. Black hole slam! Sammy intercepts the dab elbow! Tyree and Sammy hit a neckbreaker Samoan drop combo! Bryce kicks out! Bobby is still alive! Bryce sends Tyree flying! Bobby with the big dive! Virtue Signal to Sammy and Shook picks up the three!!!

Winners: Shook Crew

Tyree is not done and comes running in. He’s about to bomb Bobby but RJ Rude is here to face down Tyree! He has a bag??? It’s Tyree’s chain! Sammy runs interference but eats a fist of chain. Tyree rolls out and RJ is just furious as Brother Greatness yells that he will rue this day! 

Match 6: Big Business (Big Bacon Brad Hollister & TJ Crawford) vs Ichiban & Dezmond Cole (w/ Fancy Ryan Clancy)

Ichiban and Cole have a great entrance and are really well oiled as a tandem. Cole wants Brad but they are more than happy to work over TJ. Brad finally gets in there but gets shown up by the Wrestling Open champion. TJ plays distractor and BB takes over on the champ. They keep Cole away as best they can for a while but Boofa gets the tag and just runs through Bacon. Wild Michanoku driver! Rolling legdrop for two! TJ back in and he plants a PK in Boofa’s mouth. Ichiban flies in with a rana for the save! The champ dives but gets caught, setting BB to have no defense against a flying Boofa! What goes up to TJ! Bacon Bomb! Ichiban avoids the kill shot from TJ. Stunner! Handspring forearm! Ichiban goes for the Ichiban Kai but bacon pulls TJ out as the time limit expires. It’s a draw!

Winner: Time Limit Draw

Match 7: Gabby Forza vs Masha Slamovich (Dream Opponent Match)

Welcome back Masha! They trade aggressive holds. Gabby goes for a shoulder tackle but eats it?!? A second one does the job! Masha is here to fight…Gnomie with a press slam but misses the Vader bomb! Hard kicks from Slamovich. She snaps up a cross armbreaker…Gabby is fighting hard and gets Masha to break the hold but she lays a huge cost on the arm. Big lariats from Masha for two. German suplex! She catches a running cross body and tosses Slamovich back! Vader bomb for two! Masha tries a rollup. Kickout…Shining wizard for two! Masha going for the package piledriver…gnomes with a bridge for two! SPEAR! Masha kicks out! Crowd is split here! Gnomie goes for the Vader bomb again but Masha catches her in the corner! Bomb out of the corner! Package piledriver! Gnomie is down for the three! This was awesome and a hell of an opportunity for Gabby considering this is, what, her 12-13th match ever? Hell of a showing.

Winner: Masha Slamovich 

 

Main Event: Brick City (Victor Chase & Julio Cruz) vs Waves & Curls (Traevon Jordan & Jaelyn Brandyn) (Eliminator Cup Finals)

If Brick City wins, we riot. That’s the vibe I’m Getting right now. This is a VERY pro-Waves & Curls crowd and their faves are in serious mode and ready to take their flowers. For Brick City though, this is their second time making it all the way to the finals and they will not be denied this time (especially after knocking off Miracle Generation last week). Jaelyn taking the brunt of the punishment early. Traevon wants to help but it’s really just hurting his partner. Cruz with a delay vertical suplex for two. Jaelyn slips free and tags a very fired up Traevon Jordan. These bricks are getting laid into the canvas! Traevon running roughshod but the Bricks dodge a dive off the top…Jordan avoids a Brick end! Chase goes flying! Traevon top rope splash! Kick out! Jaelyn in, Chase stunned with a superkick! Doomsday crossbody!!!  Cruz makes the save! Traevon dropped but Jaelyn flies in with a splash for the breakup! Chase stomping out Jaelyn on the floor. Jordan avoids Business is booming! W&C hit the wave check! This should be over but bacon puts a foot on the rope! Cruz has the backpack full of bricks! Jordan keeps it away but eats a low blow while the ref is distracted! It’s a razor thing two count. Bacon is furious and almost gets thrown out. Cruz hits Jordan with a brick! Jordan is down for the three. Booooo! Brick City did it!

Winners (and Eliminator Cup 2023 Champions): Brick City

Big business celebrating. Boofa Clancy and Ichiban are here to face them down and help waves and curls. They surround the ring Shield style! Big Business getting the big beatdown! Ichiban is just strangling TJ in the corner. Fancy Clancy is just serving up stunners to everyone. Big Business is sent running as the faces celebrate their symbolic victory. Brick City are still the new Eliminator Cup champions.

 

Very good episode this week. Lots of uncharacteristic finishes all over this card, maybe just a reminder that the rules exist and the audience needs to be aware of them. But really, it’s just awesome to have shows this good at the ready on a weekly basis. It’s a great time to be a wrestling fan.
