Paul Levesque took part in a media conference after the end of WWE Fastlane. Highlights:
14,529 fans were in attendance at the PPV.
The company set the record for the highest grossing event WWE has ever done in Indianapolis, including Wrestlemania, Summerslam and Survivor Series events that have been held in the city. They set a company record, gate record, sponsorship records and more.
He was very happy for everyone involved in Judgment Day vs. Cody and Jey Uso.
He said the return of Carlito was "overdue" and HHH is happy to have him back home and to see what he can do in this run.
Leaving NXT for the main roster is like leaving college football to the NFL and to see IYO SKY's transition from where she was in NXT and seeing her pulling it out on the main roster is incredible.
HHH said Bayley was the unsung MVP of the women's division.
Triple H thanked John Cena for the moments he is giving LA Knight, Jimmy Usos and Solo Sikoa. He said that everyone should revel in the run.
He said it's hard to this a year ago that LA Knight was Max Dupri and to see where he is. He's trying to get Knight to enjoy the moment because he's so used to fighting uphill. He just needed the right time and platform and HHH hopes he can capitalize on all of it.
HHH said we are seeing the Shinsuke Nakamura that HHH always wanted to see in WWE. It's like he's a new person day to day and he hopes that Nakamura and the company can all keep to do that. He wants everyone in the world to see how special he is.
HHH praised the work Shawn Michaels and his team is doing down at NXT. He said they are producing some of the best content that WWE has been producing. He said there are some talents who have only been doing this 6-18 months and to get to that level is unbelievable. When he sees the talent they have right now and then down in NXT and he thinks, "What a future" meaning Jade Cargill, Carmelo Hayes, Roxanne Perez, Tiffany Stratton and everyone coming up behind them.
He was asked about the level of work everyone is doing given that they keep breaking records. HHH said that Cody referenced that the locker room and everyone else is one team now where in the past, it was more of everyone for themselves. HHH said there's this a camaraderie where everyone is going in the same direction in the same boat and that's rare. Vince McMahon was so instrumental for so long like no one else. He said that he doesn't know if there would be a pro wrestling industry if there wasn't a Vince McMahon. Now everyone is working on carrying on the legacy to take it into the future. They all see the opportunities with the merger and TKO and everyone is working to make it bigger and better. They are coming up to times where they set a record in a venue and return and wait to see if they break it again. He said in the Attitude Era, they were running hard and couldn't appreciate it because they were trying to be the best. Now is different and they can appreciate it. It's one of the greatest run, but everyone is excited for everyone else's success. They all want to be the best themselves but it's an enjoyment of the growth itself.
On Wrestlemania, Triple H said everyone wants one somewhere.
On when we will see Jade Cargill on WWE TV, HHH said it's when she is ready to blow the roof of "everything we do" and he's patient for things like this. Her rise has been incredibly quick but this is a different level. She's ready for it all and is ready to dig in and work her ass off. She's ready to be on this team and drive everyone in this team. He said you don't want to put someone in a position that they are sort of ready for - you want them to be damn ready for it. He said he didn't know where she was going. Everyone wants her and to work with her on their brand. That will create some incredible programming and she's going to be huge. They had eyes on her before and she took a different path that created a great opportunity for her and he's glad she's here now.
On Edge's departure, HHH said it was time. Time was right for him and for WWE. He had an amazing sendoff in WWE and he felt it was time and the company said they think he's right. There's no animosity. He's happy and proud for Edge and his family. WWE is a lot of work and it's a grind and has to be right for the person. You have to decide it's right for you. The machine doesn't stop for anyone. He guarantees that every young talent that sees him walk away wants to take that spot. There's a line of people more than capable of taking WWE to the next level the way Edge did when he was there.
On what the next evolution of WWE NXT might be, he said there was a lot of momentum but the pandemic crushed it - you couldn't recruit, train or have fans. The pandemic nailed the developmental system the most during that period, stopping the well while people kept drinking the water of the main roster. One of the things that TKO brings to the table is a growth pattern they've never had before. He's talked about international growth and global localization before. He still wants to do it, but the setup is there no matter where they want to go with boots on the ground everywhere. The growth was always unlimited but now they have the infrastructure.
