RUMORS CIRCULATING THAT DWAYNE "THE ROCK: JOHNSON COULD BE ON THE WWE WRESTLING CARD IN PERTH

By Kendall Jenkins on 2023-10-04 13:19:00

Fans of WWE could well be in for something of a treat next year. By all accounts, and speculation is growing every day, a certain star by the name of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson could be set to wrestle at the event in Perth, Australia.

WWE is a beast in terms of its seemingly never-ending popularity, and a number of stars of the sport have gone to fame and fortune in other walks of life, more of which we’ll expand on, and the success of World Wrestling Entertainment may also see it become an event that fans can place a wager on.

The organization has been in talks with sports betting providers, including FanDuel and DraftKings, about the possibility of allowing betting on scripted match results. And on this subject, why not make use of this excellent FanDuel promo code to sweeten the deal with your latest bet?

The WWE is heading back to Australia after a six-year hiatus, and among the expected highlights will be a chance to see Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley compete in her native country.

The return of ‘The Rock’ to WWE is also a big deal and led to a huge increase in viewership for the SmackDown last month. Dwayne Johnson took on Austin Theory in Denver and got an amazing reception.

An increase of 23% was seen in comparison to the previous week, showing the allure and pull of a true A-Lister like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and on social media, the footage showing him in action secured over 100 million views in just a single day.

By all accounts, the battle between Dwayne Johnson and Theory had apparently been penciled in for earlier in 2023, with the actor stating;

'Alright, so, The Rock headlining WrestleMania with Roman Reigns, SoFi Stadium... that was locked,' Johnson said.

'We were doing it. We were doing it, but let me tell you. In the beginning of 2022, Nick Khan, he was very instrumental in bringing Vince [McMahon] and I together. We all flew to LA, me broke out, toasted life and the business we love, and we starting talking about the potential of what this match could be between myself and Roman Reigns headlining WrestleMania.

'So we decided to put our pencils down, and we agreed that there is a merger coming up and WrestleMania Philadelphia.’

'But again, let's figure out what that is. Because the fans deserve something incredible and unprecedented, but I also want to deliver to the locker room and the boys and the girls working their a***s off.'

It is worth noting that the WWE isn’t on the wane and isn’t looking to bring The Rock in as some kind of promotional stunt after all; the biggest show of the year, in Philadelphia, sold more than 90,000 tickets, bringing in an all-time record of $21.6 million in gate receipts.

Similarly, it's not as if Dwayne Johnson needs the publicity either. His film career is going along swimmingly, meaning this reunion is purely down to a mutual admiration between the former darling Wrestling and the fans that still adore him.
