PWInsider.com is sad to pass on that former Jim Crockett Promotions referee Ken Plakaros passed away on 9/27 at the age of 75.
Charles Ken Plakaros' passing was announced by CrawfordCounty.com website.
His official obituary reads:
It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Charles Kenneth Plakaros Sr, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. Charles, aged 75, departed this world on September 27, 2023, in the comfort of his own home.
Born to Kenneth Willis and Margaret Collins Frasure on November 29, 1947, in Ironton, Ohio, Charles faced life’s challenges with resilience and a warm heart. Raised by his adopted father, Agrious Plakaros, who preceded him in death, Charles cherished his family deeply.
Charles is reunited in the afterlife with his parents, his beloved wife Linda Plakaros, numerous brothers and sisters, and his grandchild Aaron Stiltner. His legacy lives on through his surviving children: Margaret Rader, Charles (Debbie) Plakaros Jr., Laura (Michael) Richards, and Tracis (Mike) Carpenter. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each a testament to his love and enduring influence.
A graduate of Ironton High School, Charles pursued higher education and earned a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media. His professional journey led him to the NWA, where he found his calling as a professional wrestling referee. Beyond the ring, Charles found solace in fishing, watching wrestling on TV, and quality time with his cherished family. He was an avid treasure hunter, scouring flea markets, garage sales, and thrift stores for hidden gems. Additionally, he generously volunteered his time to support the noble cause of St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Charles Kenneth Plakaros Sr. touched the lives of many with his warm heart and loving spirit. As we reflect on his life, let us celebrate the legacy of a man who cherished family, loved deeply, and made a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
