10/1 NJPW ROAD TO DESTRUCTION RESULTS FROM TOKYO, JAPAN

10/1/23 Results from New Japan’s Road to DESTRUCTION from Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Japan:

At the start of the show, the camera opens to House of Torture attacking SANADA in the crowd.   Officials and the rest of Just 4 Guys come to the rescue. 

Interesting way to begin the show.  No matter who wins the World Title on October 9, the war between these factions will continue.

1 - Arm Wrestling match:    Chase Owens vs. Tanga Loa

They locked hands and the referee started the match.  Tanga won quickly.  Owen screamed he was not ready and wanted another chance.   Tanga agreed and they locked hands again.  Owens used all his strength until Tanga began to push forward.  Owens used both hands and Tanga slammed his arm down.

Tanga Loa wins.

Bullet Club War Dogs attack Tanga and smash his left arm with chairs.   Tama Tonga, Hikuleo and the rest come to help.    War Dogs run away.  They will all meet in an Elimination match in the main event.

2 - Oskar Leube and Boltin Oleg vs. Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano

Ishii pins Oskar with a sliding lariat.

3 - HENARE and Jeff Cobb vs.  Yuto Nakashima and Hiroshi Tanahashi

HENARE pins Nakashima after a Rampage.

4 - Callum Newman and Great O-Khan vs. Yota Tsuji and Shingo Takagi

Takagi and Tsuji hit a Pumping Bomber and Spear on Newman.

Takagi pins Newman.

5 - Best of 7 Series, Match 5:  Shota Umino, Master Wato and Yuji Nagata vs. Ren Narita, El Desperado and Minoru Suzuki

Wato kicks Desperado in the the head and hits Recientemente.

Wato pins Desperado.

Another fun match.  The record is 2-2-1 with two matches remaining.

6 - Lio Rush, YOSHI-HASHI and Kazuchika Okada vs. BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi and Tetsuya Naito

YOSHI-HASHI forces BUSHI to tap out to the Butterfly Lock.

Rush and Hiromu have words after the match.  They are hyping their title match big time.

7 - SHO, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL, with Dick Togo vs. TAKA Michinoku, DOUKI, Taichi and SANADA

Wild brawl to start.  Taichi looked and acted so pissed at Kanemaru.  Taichi was wearing his Just 5 Guys jacket in the match.

Kanemaru hits a low blow on TAKA and rolls him up for the pin.

SANADA takes the mic and teases another member of Just 5 Guys, as House of Torture retreats.

8 - Elimination Match:   KUSHIDA, Kevin Knight, El Phantasmo, Hikuleo, Tanga Loa and Tama Tonga, with Jado vs. Clark Conners, Drilla Moloney, Gabe Kidd, Alex Coughlin, Chase Owens and David Finlay, with Gedo

Hikuleo is eliminated over the top.   

Kidd is eliminated over the top. 

Coughlin is eliminated over the top.

ELP is eliminated over the top.

Conners and Knight eliminate each other.

Drilla and KUSHIDA eliminate each other.

Owens hits a Package Piledriver on Tanga Loa and applies the cross face.   Tanga is eliminated. 

Owens is eliminated over the top.

Finlay is eliminated.

Tama Tonga’s team wins.

Tama thanks the Korakuen Hall to send them home happy.

There will be another event broadcast on New Japan World on October 7, followed by DESTRUCTION in Ryogoku on October 9.
