FIRST EVER SUPER CRAZY VS. JAY LETHAL MATCH ANNOUNCED, MICK FOLEY, BRYAN IDOL, SUNNY BEACH, SUPER 8 2024 AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2023-09-28 09:45:00

Congratulations to Masked Republic's Kevin Kleinrock and his family on the arrival of their new twins, Oliver Thomas and Abigail Renee!

The first-ever Jay Lethal vs. Super Crazy match has been announced for the 10/22 WrestlePro return to Rahway, NJ.  Already announced for that event is NWA Champion EC3 vs. Pat Buck, AAA Latin American Champion QT Marshall vs. Gringo Loco and a 30 Man Rumble.

Mick Foley was interviewed by Oregon's Eugene Weekly to discuss an upcoming signing there at this link, noting that about 40% of the fans who come to meet him now weren't alive during his active in-ring career and that his matches have been passed on within their family.  “I don’t get to tell people what’s important or memorable to them,” Foley said. “I’m absolutely fine if they want to remember me as the guy from Hell in the Cell or the guy who defeated Dwayne [“The Rock”] Johnson — who’s the biggest star in the entire world.”   Foley will be appearing next month at New York Comic Con at the Headlocked Comics booth.

FOX News 13 in Florida featured a piece on the FTW Wrestling School operated by Bryan Idol aka The NWA's Mercurio at this link.  Idol was interviewed as part of the piece.

Former WWF and Herb Abrams' UWF star Rick Allen filed a trademark on his old wrestling persona Sunny Beach on 9/27 for "Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of a wrestling club; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer."  Allen last wrestled back in 1996.  He worked as Sandy Beach during his WWF run.

Al Snow spoke to People about Netflix's Wrestlers at this link.  On the series, Snow commented, "“The business has always been the idea of us trying to create this illusion of reality.  It’s always been close to the chest and private, so we had some reservations about the series. But by showing so much backstage and being so open, and allowing fans to see the actual people and the challenges they face, it was my hope that they’d get a new appreciation for them. And hopefully, we’d expand the audience for wrestling as a whole, not just OVW.”
