TEXAS DEATH MATCH AND MORE: AEW COLLISION REPORT

It is Saturday and AEW Collision Is live at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MN.  Our commentary team is Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness. 

We have the opening promos. 

Luchasaurus (TNT Champion when Christian Cage Remembers) vs Christian Cage vs Darby Allin

Cage tells Luchasaurus to take care of Darby and leaves the ring and sits on a chair. Darby goes to lock up and instead throws salt in Luchasaursus’s eyes and dives onto Cage. He tosses Cage into the ring steps, then into the ring, hits a Destroyer on Cage for two. He dives onto Luchasaurus and when he gets on the apron, Cage whiplashes him on the top and Luchasaurus tosses Darby into the barricade.

Cage ins in the ring and sets up his chair. Darby is rolled into the ring and Cage puts Darby on the chair and stands on his back while pulling the top rop;e. Cage then chokes Darby on the back of the chair. Luchasaurus suplexes Darby in the chair. Luchasaurus goes to cover and Cage tells him to go get something, and Cage sneaks in for a two count.

Darby is tossed to the floor. Cage and Luchasaurus work over Darby on the floor as we go to picture in picture. When we return to full screen, everyone is back in the ring and Darby dodges a charge from Luchasaurus’s chargeand hits a shoulder on the ring post. Cage charges at Darby, and Darby dodges and gets a rollup for two. Darby goes to the top, and Luchasaurus pulls Cage out of the ring, so Darby hits his coffin drop[ of both of them. Darby rolls Luchasaurus into the ring, 

Darby leaps into a chokeslam from Luchasaurus, but Darby flips out of the hold and gets an over the top stunner from the top. Cage tries to charge into Darby with the title and Darby dodges and hits a shotgun drop kick on him. Luchasaurus is able to drive Darby into the mat. Luchasurus then picks up the title, fascinated. Cage comes into the ring and asks him to hand it back to him.

Cage screams at him for the belt and Luchasaurus hands it over. Darby charges into the two of them, and Darby then hits Luchasaurus with the belt for two. Darby hits a coffin drop, and Cage tosses Darby out of the ring and covers Luchasaurus for the pin and the win.

Winner and NEW TNT Champion: Christian Cage

Cage hugs Luchasaurus and Luchasaurus holds Cage’s hand in victory. Cage then gets on Luchasaurus’s shoulders to hold up the belt. 

We then get a recap of Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega teaming up to go after Don Callis. 

In the back, Alex Marvez is with Don Callis, Sammy Guevara, and Kanasuke Takeshita. Don says that Jericho and Omega teaming up makes him sick. And then putting Kono Ibushi in danger is just as bad. Don says he has another family member, and it’s Will Osperay, and they will face a Don Callis Family that has never been stronger.

Tony Schiavone is with Care and Luchasaurus, and Cage dedicates the win to Nick Wayne’s mom and his dead dad. Cage’s first title match will be at WrestleDream in a two out of three falls match with Darby Allin. Cage storms off.

Hook (FTW Champion) and Rob Van Dam vs Matt Menard and Angelo Parker w/Anna Jay and Jake Hager

Hook and Menard start off and Menard gets a side headlock takeover. Hook gets his own side headlock takeover. Hook tries for an arm bar, but Menard works out of it and tags in parker. Anna grabs Hook’s foot and Parker drops Hook with the distraction, leading to Menard tagging in. They work to Hook corner and RVD tags in. RVD gets an arm drag and Menard charges into RVD. 

Parker is tagged in and RVD is able to take Parker and Menard out with kicks. RVD does the “Rob Van Dam” pose as we go picture in picture.  

When we return to full screen, Hook is in the ring and he tosses Menard and Parker out of the ring, but Parker stops Hook from tagging out with a tackle. Hook hits an exploder suplex. Both men are down, crawling and RVD gets the tag. RVD cleans house until he covers Parker, and Mendar breaks it up with a stomp. RVFD hits Menard with a big kick, and as the ref is distracted by Anna, Hager comes into the ring with a chair.  

That means, of course, RVD kicks it into his face. Hook goes over to pull the ref away from Anna and yell at her, and Hook is grabbed by Parker, who almost hits Anna. Hook locks on Redrum, RVD hits the frog splash on Menard for the pin and the win.

Winners: Hook and RVD

We get comments from Eddie Kingston now that he is a double champion. He says he has to defend his titles against Katsuyori Shibata.

We get a promo from the Dark Order, and they say the world has gotten out of control, and you need structure and rules. You need order. The Dark Order. And they’re good. 

 

The Kingdom give a message about Neck Health, and the Best Friends, those Melvins, need to pay for not caring about neck health. 

Kiera Hogan vs Julia Hart

Hogan charges into Hart and works her over into the corner and into the ropes. Hart knocks Hogan down by pulling her hair. She keeps her down with stomps and slamming her head into the mat. Hart hits a suplex and follows up with a ground and pound. They get to their feet and Hogan gets in a series of strikes and kicks, but Hart drops her with a trip and a standing moonsault for two.

Hart grabs a rear chinlock. Hogan fights out with strikes and gets a sling balde. Hogan hits a shotgun dropkick in the corner When Hogan charges again, Hart slams her into the turnbuckle with a drop toehold and then hits a snap mare after beating down Hogan in the corner. Hart hits a sliding elbow and then locks in Hartless, and Hogan has to tap out.

Winner: Julia Hart

Hart grabs Hartless again after the win and Skye Blue charges the ring to break it up. Hart comes from behind Brody King and sprays mist into Blue’s eyes.  Brody King says this violence will not end until they get to The One. The Last Boss, Kris Statlander, and that will be at Wrestle Dream, or the body count continues to rise.

We get a video package for The Righteous. 

Jay White w/The rest of the Bullet Club vs Andrade El Idolo

Cardboard Jay White joins commentary.  

They lock up and Andrade shoves Jay into the corner. When they break, Jay slaps him. Andrade grabs a side headlock and Jay shoots him off into the ropes. Andrade hits a shoulder lock and the Bullet Club members get on the apron. This allows Jay to get a side headlock takeover. They go to the floor and Andrade drops Jay with chops. He tosses Jay back in the ring and goes to the top for a flying cross body.

Andrade hits the three amigos suplexes, but Jay lands on his feet on the third. Andrade is able to knock Jay to the floor with a leaping drop kick from the second rope. Jay gets back in the ring and Andrade covers for two.  Jay is whipped to the corner, and he dodges a charge from Andrade and hits a DDT for two. 

Jay then worlds over Andrade in the corner with chops and shoulder thrusts. Andrade gets his kick in and Jay grabs Andrade, drops him on the apron and then nails him, sending Andrade to the floor as we go picture in picture. 

When we return to full screen,  Jay has a rear chinlock on Andrade, who then works to his feet and breaks free with elbows. Jay pulls him back to the mat, but gets caught in a small package by Andrade for two. Jay hits a chop on Andrade, who is on his knees. Andraded works to his feet, still taking chops. Andrade fights back and they hit double clotheslines. 

They get to their feet and throw chops. Andrade is able to get a dragon screw when Jay comes in with a kick, then hits a flying forearm. Andrade kips up and poses for the crowd as Jay is down in the corner. Andrade starts to charge and the Bullet Club pull Jay out of the ring, so Andrade has to hit a top rope moonsault onto everyone on the floor. Jay is rolled into the ring and Andrade hits a double moonsault for two. 

Both men struggle to get a hold and return to chops. Andrade hits a massive knee into Jay in the ropes. Jay suplexes Andrade out of the ring to the floor. Jay rolls Andrade into the ring and hits a HIGH ura Nage for two. They fight in the corner and Jay hyperextends the knee of Andrade. Andtrade nails Jay with a back elbow and falls on White for two. Andrade hits double running knees into Jay and covers for two, but Juice Robinson puts Jay’s foot on the ropes. 

Andrade locks on the figure four and then bridges up for the figure 8, and Juice breaks it up as the ref deals with the Gunns. Jay is able to get Blade Runnerfor the pin and the win.

Winner: Jay White

We then get a promo from Ortiz about his issues with Mike Santana.

We get a promo from Shane Taylor about his history with Keith Lee and Lee has to face Lee Mortiarty.

Aussie Open shows in suits. They are joining commentary.

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) AEW Tag Team Champions vs The Workhorsemen (Anthony Henry and Jo Drake)

Dax and Henry do a lot of mat grappling to start off and Henry is able to get a pair fo drop kicks to get away and tag in Drake. Cash is tagged in and they run the ropes. Drake and Cash trade LOUD chops and Drake is able to drop Cash for a one count. Henry is tagged in and they keep Cash in their corner. Drake tags back in and gets a cover for two. Drake and Henry work over Cash with quick tags.

Cash is finally able to get a sheer drop brainbuster on Henry, but Drake cuts off the tag and Dax is knocked off the mat. Drake hits a moonsault from the top for two. Drake leaps at Cash again and Cash catches him and puts him in a sharp shooter, and Drake has to tap out.

Winners and still Tag Team Champions: FTR

Aussie Open get in the ring with a mic and tell FTR to keep the tag team championships tight because they are coming for them. Kyle says something that has to be censored, and Dax telsl them to bring their best, and he’s begging them to bring their best.

Lexi is with Miro’s Wife, who is now known as CJ, and she says she wanted to come and help him become champion again. Miro shows and says that his temptation is her and her temptation is the fame. She says the hustle is what she lives for. CJ says she does not need saving and he needs to do what he needs to do, and she will do what she needs to do. She says if he has any love for her, not to lay a hand on any of her clients. 

Ricky Starks vs Bryan Danielson in a Texas Death Match

Jim Ross joins commentary.

Ricky charges into Bryan as he enters the ring and they brawl in the corner. We are told Ricky told Big Bill to stay in the back. Bryan is knocked to the outside and Ricky dives into him. They brawl over the barricade and into the crowd. After Bryna hits Ricky with a plastic garbage can, they fight up the stairs. They fight through the crowd and then back to ringside. Bryan is dumped into the crowd and Rickky goes to the top and leaps on Bryan in the crowd as we go picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, they are fighting in front of the announcer’s table and Bryan is busted open. Ricky then beats on the cut before rolling Bryan back in the ring. Ricky then beats Bryan in the head with a microphone. Ricky then goes after Bryan with a chair against the ring post and then in the ring. Ricky wraps the leg around Bryan’s leg, and when he goes to the top, Bryan is up with the chair and nails Ricky with it. 

They fight on the top turnbuckle. Ricky bites on Bryan’s wound and the crowd lets him know they think is a sick human being.

They don’t change human being.

Bryan suplexes Ricky to the mat and hangs on to the top. He then nails Ricky with a shotgun dropkick from the top. Bryan then hits the Yes kicks. Ricky grabs for the chair as he recovers. Bryan charges and Ricky throws the chair at him. As Bryan pulls himself up the crowd wants tables and the spencers want time so we go picture in picture again.

When we return to full screen, Rikcy has a chain around his fist, and Bryan drops him with a side kick. They trade chops and the chain has fallen off. Ricky gets a spear and grabs the chain to choke out Bryan. Bryan starts to fade out and his head turns purple. Ricky lets go of the chain and the ref starts to count. Bryan is up and 9 and Starks grabs the chain and starts again, choking Bryan on his back. Bryan flips over and grabs Starks in the crossface. Ricky taps, but it doesn’t matter. Bryan wraps the chain around Ricky’s neck.

The Best part of this is Nigel cheering when Ricky was doing it,a nd protesting when Bryan is doing it.

Ricky is able to fight out of it and they trade blows on the mat. They both collapse on the mat. Both crawl to the ropes to pull themselves up. Ricky misses with a chair and Bryan hits the psycho knee into the chair into Starks and Starks is now busted open. Bryan stomps his head in on the chair. Ricky spits in Bryan’s face and Bryan goes back to stomping. Bryan pulse down his knee pad and wraps a chain around his knee. Bryan hits a running knee with a chain around his knee.

Ricky is unable to answer the ten count and Bryan has won.

Winner: Bryan Danielson
