Before Raw went on the air, WWE taped an episode of WWE Main Event with Nikki Cross vs. Indi Hartwell and Tegan Nox vs. Xia Li. Originally, Natalya was slated to face Xia but there was a change later in the day. Nick Aldis prouduced Cross vs. Indi. Bobby Roode produced Tegan vs. Li.
Tegan Nox was originally slated to challenge Becky Lynch for the WWE NXT Women's title on Raw.
Dragon Lee was brought in as part of the strategy to raise the profile of the brand across Raw and Smackdown to hopefully bring fans to Tuesdays.
Ricochet vs. Shinsuke Nakamura was originally slated to follow the Cody vs. Mysterio bout but the decision was made to push it back in order to push more starpower to later segments as Seth Rollins would be involved.
