The Guardian has released a review for Cassandro, the bio-pic on the legendary lucha libre exotico have been released, noting "Gael Garcia Bernal has his best role in years and radiates charisma and infectiously upbeat energy in this heartwarmer about a pioneering openly gay Mexican wrestler." The reviews for the film have been resoundingly positive, including this one from The Washington Post.
The El Paso Times featured a piece on Cassandro, who is originally from the area, celebrating the film's release with his family at a VIP event.
