Christopher Dean sent word that former NFL defensive back Adam "Pacman" Jones, who had a short run in TNA where he was Tag Team Champion, was arrested early this morning after police responded to a report of an "unruly passenger" at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
"Jones was booked on misdemeanor counts of alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct and terroristic threatening, Captain Kevin Klute of the Boone County Jail said. He was later released. Airport spokesperson Mindy Kerschner said that police were called at 6 a.m. Monday to help crewmembers with an unruly passenger on a flight scheduled for departure. Kerschner confirmed that Jones was the passenger "arrested prior to takeoff and taken to Boone County Detention Center."
Upon being released from custody, Jones told WKRC-TV that had had asked to be moved to another seat on the plane as the phone chargers in the two seats he purchased did not work. He claimed he was then told that they would have to turn the plane around. He "vehemently denied being intoxicated" according to ESPN and also rejected the terroristic threat allegation, noting the entire situation was "embarassing."
Jones and Ron Killings (currently R-Truth in WWE) held the TNA Tag Team Championship together during a period where Jones was brought into the company during a time period where Jones was suspended from competing for the NFL for one year. When the Tennessee Titans learned of the TNA deal, they gained a restraining order, as he was under contract to them, to prevent him from physically performing. An agreement was met where Jones would be involved but not take any true physical punishment with Consequences Creed (currently Xavier Woods in WWE) becoming part of the act. Jones was only with TNA for several months but later returned for a cameo where he and another NFL player DeQuin Evans got involved in an angle with Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian, getting into an altercation with them while sitting in the front row and entering the ring, bodyslamming the team in November 2013 on an episode of Impact TV.
