Wrestling Open Week 87

9/7/23 Worcester, MA

Spotlight Match: Dante Drago (w/ Percy Ryan) vs Stanley Dragowski

Drago is overconfident as he rolls up Stanley over and over. The Polish Eagle shows that he’s been learning as he returns the quick tests. Stanley fires up after taking a chug of Drago’s white claw. Drago trying to take over but Stanley keeps overpowering him. Great bicep curl fall away slam for two! Is this the Pierogi Press? Drago tries a rebound lariat but Stanley blasts a shoulder tackle and hits the POLISH HAMMER for the win!

Winner: Stanley Dragowski

Let’s kick It off: Paul Crockett is rolling solo on the table as Rich Palladino is your announcer. Big Business is out here right away: it’s TJ and Bacon and they think TJ is up for a Wrestling Open title shot after he pinned Ichiban last week. Brad is looking straight through to the Finals. But he wants to let Dezmond Cole know they will be watching his match tonight….because Boofa is still on their books.

Pedro Dones is out here now. He is ready to take Ray Jaz out. But first, he’s calling his shot on Hammer Tunis’ arm.

Match 1: Pedro Dones vs Hammer Tunis

They take a moment to trade disrespectful pie faces. Dones eats a spine buster and powerslam as Tunis tries to dominate early. Pedro isn’t targeting anything really. Dones with a snap cradle suplex. The fires are coming as Dones hits shoulder blocks, a fisherman’s suplex and puts Tunis down with a shoulderbreaker.

Winner: Pedro Dones

Ray Jaz is out here. He’s got some dirty secrets of Dones to share. We don’t f***ing care. Dones says he can leave or get beat. Jaz really thinks this envelope is his key….Dones is about to leave as Jaz says “How’re your wife and kids?”. Dones immediately goes for Jaz and chase him out!

Match 2: Zayda Steele vs Kennedi Copeland

Welcome back to Worcester, Kennedi Copeland! Zelda is mad we aren’t chanting for her. Kennedi might be caught in the moment as Steele beats her down. Massive handspring slap to the face. Great spot. Steele doing a good job of grinding Kennedi down while disrespecting everyone around her. Love her energy. Copeland rallies back with a jawbreaker and a hard payback slap. Zeyda is dropped and Copeland blasts a shining wizard for the win. The crowd was pretty hot for this 2-min contest.

winner: Kennedi Copeland

Match 3: Mortar & Brian Milonas vs Shook Crew (Bryce Donovan & Bobby Orlando)

I’m gonna start calling Mortar and Milonas the Wet Boys. Anyways, Shook Crew is still mad as Milonas for costing them their spot in the Eliminator Cup. Milonas thrown off kilter by Bryce but a well timed distraction from Mortar and Milonas hits a massive cross body. This is becoming a typhoon of pain. Milonas storms around the ring and throws his weight around. Mortar is starting to get distracted by the fans and misses a crucial tag. Brian calls him out on his lack of focus and Bryce chopblocks and gets the tag to Orlando. Milonas hits the buckles but no one’s home. Mortar drops an elbow to break up a pin. Bobby uses Mortar as a weapon to take down Milonas, who starts clutching his head on the hit. Bryce tags in, Orlando with the superkick, Donovan with the chokeslam and Mortar eats the pin right in front of Milonas.

Winners: Shook Crew

Milonas and Mortar go head before Milonas attacks. He runs his (former now) partner into the buckles and hits a series of body splashes. He says “we’re done before hitting the swining uranage and stands on his chest.

Match 4: Griffin McCoy vs Marcus Mathers

McCoy is promising fair play and no bad guy stuff. Hmmm. This turns real quick as a fair play hand shake turns to a German and heavy kick beatdown. Griffin is an EVIL MAN…who had us all FOOLED! This is a hard hitting battle as Marcus finds his way back into the fight and starts landing his own heavy shots and slams. McCoy dodges the double stomp but ends crushed in a seated Seaton cradle. Off with his head cuttter! 450 connects for three! This flew by, super fun fight!

Winner: Marcus Mathers

Match 5: Stetson Ranch (BRG & Danny Miles) vs Waves & Curls (Traevon Jordan & Jaelyn Brandyn) (Eliminator Cup Quarterfinal Match)

If BRG was upset last week at their loss to Fresh Air, he has to be furious at how the start of this match is going for the Ranch. Every time they have a way out of W&C unique dance combat, Traevon and Jaelyn just keep dropping them. Danny finally pulls the leg from under the rope and BRG starts laying it in. Hard shoulder block but JB refuses to stay down. He escapes and just eats a spear. BRG pulls JB out but he gets blasted to the apron. Tag to Jordan! Traevon running wild, lays em out and hits a bronco buster on BRG. Traevon goes for the chokeslam but eats a gutbuster and Unprettier! JB breaks up the pin! JB head scissors Danny to the floor. BRG is accidentally tripped up. “Danny you idiot!” He yells at he eats the Wave Check. Danny was pretty sure he tripped the right man so he doesn’t even watch and is shocked when Waves & Curls is announced the winners!

Winners: Waves & Curls

Danny Miles runs BRG down on the mic, says he shouldn’t even be in the ranch. He dares BRG to take a shot, if he does, Danny gets his paycheck?

This next match is going to be a showcase from today’s open tryouts! It’s a Test Your Might challenge against Ichiban!

Match 6: Nick Robles vs Ichiban

Robles, like Patrick Saint before him, is hungry to prove himself against our champ. Ichiban weathers the early storm and hits a tornado ddt that stuns the young rocker. Hard chops to the chest. Ichi goes for the handspring elbow but gets Germaned away. Robles rallying, great head scissor take down! Exploder with a bridge for two! We will rock you? The crowd still here for Ichiban as he hits the handspring elbow and a 5-star Frogcrossbody for the win!

Winner: Ichiban

Rich Palladino is here to interview Ichiban. this always goes well. How’s he feel about the victory? Ichiban Number One! Rich wants to know about his upcoming title defense against the newly evil Teddy Goodz? “Teddy bad” - NEW WORDS!!! Wait….I thought he was defending against Channing Thomas? Paul Crockett corrects the promo, Ichiban fights Teddy NEXT week in non-title action. World Class goes for the title in two weeks at “Anti-Hero”!

Oh Ray Jaz is here with his stupid envelope. He’s gonna show everyone his evidence…it’s photos of Ray Jaz hanging with Pedro’s wife and kids. He suggests that HE has been acting as a father to Pedro’s wife and kids while Pedro has been away. Is he questioning the parentage of Pedro’s kids??? Pedro hits the ring and chases him off but he is messed up with the thought that Jaz may have infiltrated his family??? This is some classic stuff and I love it.

Match 7: Brad Baylor (w/ Ricky Smokes) vs Dustin Waller (w/ Kylon King)

Baylor is working with Smokes to keep Dustin distracted. Dustin with a great swerve on Smokes that almost leaves him caught between both members of miracle generation. Baylor with backbreakers thought to keep flash down. Trading loud slaps, Flash with a boot but runs into a snap powerslam for two. Hard whip to the corner flips Dustin inside out as Baylor preens. Quick dodge and a phenomenal forearm staggers Brad. Flying back elbow. Handspring cutter! Kick out! Brad with a couple of huge slams but gets caught with a Spanish fly off the second rope. Smokes and Kylon get into a brawl.  Dustin and the ref are completely distracted as Baylor lands an uppercut to the balls and hits a TKO for the win. Booooooo!

Winner: Brad Baylor

Match 8: Ellis Taylor vs Dezmond Cole

Cole just out working Taylor early. Split leg dodge. Hard chops for everyone to to see. Taylor finally hits an enziguri. Hard PK off the apron! German into a corner axe kick! That was cool. Hard forearms and a sweep from Cole! Michanoku driver into a rolling legdrop for Two! Crowd heating up for Boofa but Taylor escapes a suplex…quicks changes of position, Taylor almost snags the rollup. Sweep and a head kick! Boofa hits a suplex reversal! Capo kick cannonball into the corner! Boofa wins!

Winner: Dezmond Cole

Big Business is out here. They know Cole with try to cost them their spot in the Eliminator Cup finals…they go for the kill while Boofa is alone and has no friends…the lights go out! It’s RYAN CLANCY!!!! He’s in a suit! That was some Fancytaker s***. Boofa has a friend and this one isn’t betraying him! This is a straight up brawl as Cole and Clancy unload on Bacon & Mayo. Side Russian from Clancy to TJ! Cole and Clancy have joined forces!

Main Event: Steven Stetson (w/ Danny Miles) vs Alec Price (No Holds Barred for the IWTV Independent Wrestling World Championship)

Stetson tries to attack but the Northeast cannonballs both him and Danny on the floor. Brawl right into the crowd! The IWTV champ is laying it in hard until Stetson reverses a whip and Alec gets tossed into the gaaaahbidge. Hard slam to the apron! Price ready to kill but Stetson hot shots him into the top rope. Stetson taking a beating from the crowd as he lays in on the champ. Alec with a high cross body and another over the top! Danny Miles attacks and this is basically a two on one. Danny setting up chairs. Stetson takes a seat on his chest but gets tripped into a trapped chair. Alec rallying back…there’s some doors in this house! Stetson fighting back and trying to put Alec through the wood. The champ throwing those dusty punches but Stetson blasts a big boot. Huge powerslam for two! Danny sets up some furniture. Price swinging for the fences…one more time cause he’s trash! Danny on the apron, it’s the moment Stetson needs to catch Price and spine buster him through the door…kick out!!! The ranch set up a sextet of chairs. Price trying to fight off the superplex….he punches both s*** cowboys down…Stetson double stomped through the chairs!!! Danny breaks up the pin! They call out BRG, he has a chain! They hold up Price for the kill…BRG decks Danny! He rips off his ranch shirt and throws it in Stetson’s face! Price with a block buster and suuuuuprize kick! Price wins and the ranch has a whole new problem!

Winner: Alec Price
