8/31 AAW ART OF WAR RESULTS

By Jeremy Boone on 2023-09-06 12:28:00

Match #1: Conan Lycan & Heather Reckless def Clutch Jessie V & Taylor Rising in 6:38

The match was originally Heather v Taylor, but Taylor was accompanied by a towering Jessie V.  Jessie V stands tall over Heather Reckless and gets in her face, only for Conan Lycan to come out to even the odds.

Match #2 Primetime Catena Open Challenge Match: Solomon Topu def Primetime Catena in 6:00

Note: Fun match, Catena has been building himself as a hated heel over the past few AAW events.

Match #3 - 4 Way Scramble Match: Joe Alonzo (w/ Chuck E. Smooth) def Gringo Loco, Fuego Del Sol & Isaiah Moore in 8:20

Note: Joe Alonzo and Chuck E Smooth are quite possibly the biggest heels in AAW at the moment.  Fun match with Joe Alonzo stealing the pin after Gringo Loco finished off a debuting Fuego Del Sol.

Match #4: Big Beef Gnarls Garvin def Hartenbower w/ John E. Bravo, Sean Logan in 12:59

Note: Initially the crowd thought that Hartenbower (as part of the Bravo Family) was defending the AAW Heritage Title on behalf of Davey Vega.  As Beef celebrated with the heritage title, AAW officials announced that the title was never officially on the line.

Match #5: Gary Jay def Silas Young in 9:15

Note: Originally to be Silas Young v Thrillbilly Silas Mason, Silas came out and said that Thrillbilly wasn't man enough to be in the ring with him, and had to miss today's event due to sickness.  Since Silas is ready for a fight, he had an open challenge for any "man" in the lockerroom.  Gary Jay came out and received the upset victory over a legend in AAW history.

Match #6 - AAW Women's Championship Match: Masha Slamovich v Sierra - No Contest

Note: This match turned into an all-out brawl going through the crowd until the chaos returned to the ring.  Sierra knocked out the ref on accident, only for more refs to come out to restore order.  Masha decked out another ref, only for the main official Perch to come back to his senses and declare the competition a no-contest due to the aggression towards the officials.  The locker room came out to separate the continued madness, with Masha escaping with her AAW Women's Championship.

Match #7 - AAW Tag Team Championship Match: Russ Jones (c) & Levi Everett def Ren Jones & Xavier Walker in 14:43

Note: SCHAFF was unable to make the event due to logistics, which led to a backstage segment earlier where Russ Jones looked for a new partner for the night, finding Levi Everett in back.  Fun match, the crowd loves Russ, and they also love Levi.  Both "churned" their opponents for the win.

Match #8 - AAW Heavyweight Championship Match: Davey Vega w/ John E. Bravo, Hartenbower & Sean Logan def Jake Something (c) in 11:58

Note: We have a new champion in Davey Vega!  Davey is now the current AAW Heavyweight Champion and AAW Heritage Champion.  The mixed crowd violently booed this and cheered madly for this win.  Davey uses the heavyweight belt to cheap shot Jake Something and knock him out, setting him up for his brainbuster.

Match #9 - No Rope Barbed Wire Match: Robert "Ego" Anthony def Mance Warner in 30:05

Note: This match was bloody as hell.... What a spectacle.  When Mance Warner looked like he had Robert Anthony at the edge, the lights went out and out came Jon Moxley to the aid of his old friend Robert Anthony.  Jon lays out Mance, only to begin to leave and hear the 3 count get kicked out of.  Mox returns to the ring and brawls with Mance only for Ego to finish Mance with a chair and a Death Valley Driver.

AAW returns to Chicago on 9/29 with THE CHAOS THEORY at Joe's on Weed Street.  Limited tickets with this intimate venue at $20 each!
