WWE SMACKDOWN REPORT: REMEMBERING FUNK AND WYATT

Your announcers are Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves, and Michael Cole.

We begin with graphics in memory of Terry Funk and Windham Rotunda.

All of the wrestlers and staff are on the stage.

Michael Cole mentions that two members of the WWE family passed away, Terry Funk and Bray Wyatt.  He says tonight they will honor their legacy and honor their lives.  Two incredible men who touched all of us with their passion, creativity and their spirit.

Cole asks for a moment of silence and they do the ten bell salute.

We take a look at Bray Wyatt with a video package.

The crowd sings "He's Got the Whole World in his Hands'

We see a rocking chair in a spotlight as we go to commercial.

We are back with a clip from the video package for Terry Funk.

Michael mentions that Cody Rhodes will pay tribute to Terry Funk later in the show.

Michael says Terry and Bray wanted to entertain the fans and that is what they are here for tonight.

We are told that Cody Rhodes will be on a special edition of The Grayson Waller Effect at Payback.

Match Number One:  Rey Mysterio versus Grayson Waller in a Non Title Match

They lock up and Waller pushes Rey to the mat.  Waller with a wrist lock and Rey with an arm drag.  Rey mocks Waller.  Rey with a forearm but Waller with a knee.  Waller with a side head lock.  Waller with a shoulder tackle.  Waller with a side head lock and take down.  Rey with a head scissors take down that sends Waller into the corner.  Rey with a forearm and punches in the corner.  Waller goes for an Alabama Slam but Rey holds on to the ropes.  Rey with a head scissors that sends Waller into the ropes but Waller with a back body drop to send Rey to the apron.  Waller with a boot to knock Rey off the ropes on a springboard move.  Waller slides to the floor but misses a clothesline.  Rey with a head scissors that sends Waller into the ringside barrier.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Rey with an Irish whip and Waller floats over and double stomps Rey for a near fall.  Waller with punches to the ribs.  Waller goes to the ropes for a springboard elbow drop and hits it for a near fall.  Waller with a leg lariat and he gets a near fall.  Waller kicks Rey in the head as Rey gets back to his feet.  Waller with a hard Irish whip.  Waller with a hard Irish whip and he sets for a power bomb but Rey with punches to counter into a rana that sends Waller shoulder first into the ring post.  Rey goes up top and hits a seated splash and a springboard cross body.  Waller with an Irish whip and Rey floats over and hits a tornado DDT for a near fall.  

Waller with a back elbow and a boot to Rey.  Waller with a flip Unprettier for a near fall.  Waller gets Rey on his shoulders but Rey escapes.  Rey with a clothesline and a back senton.  Rey with a drop toe hold that sends Waller into the ropes.

Austin Theory's music plays and he makes his way onto the stage and walks to the ring.  

Waller with a rollup for a near fall.  Rey and Waller with cross body presses at the same time and both go down.  

Santos Escobar attacks Theory from behind.  Theory with a clip to Escobar.  Rey with a drop kick to Theory on the floor.  Waller slides to the floor and hits a clothesline.  Waller punches Santos and Rey avoids a slingshot rolling cutter for a head scissors and a 619.  Theory holds Rey on the apron but Santos with a super kick.  Rey with a springboard splash for the three count.

Winner:  Rey Mysterio

We take a look back at the first Wyatt Family promos.

We are back with social media posts about Bray Wyatt.

Corey mentions the warehouse in Tampa where he worked with Bray.  He says Bray always brought a smile to everyone's face.  He says he will never forget Bray's laugh.

We take a look at Zelina Vega's victories over Iyo Sky in the last few months.

Damage CTRL is with Kayla and she asks Iyo about her match against Zelina and the two prior victories.

Bayley calls Kayla biased and asks if she is trying to join the LWO because they only hire short people.  Bayley says Iyo is a once in a lifetime talent.  She is a former NXT Champion, a former Tag Team Champion and the current Women's Champion.  This is Iyo's Era.  Bayley tells Kayla to enjoy the ride and she cackles to the ring.

We go to commercial.

We are back with footage of the debut of The Fiend.

Match Number Two: Iyo Sky (with Bayley and Dakota Kai) versus Zelina Vega for the World Championship

They lock up and Iyo with a waist lock and Vega with a wrist lock.  Iyo with a reversal.  Vega flips using the ropes to reverse the hold.  Iyo with a side head lock.  Iyo with a cartwheel and round off.  Vega with a wheelbarrow into an arm drag.  Iyo goes into the ropes to talk some strategy but Vega grabs Iyo.  Iyo sends Vega into the ropes throat first and she kicks Vega in the back.  Iyo with a slam for a near fall.  Iyo with forearms and she goes for another slam but Vega escapes and gets a rollup for a near fall.  Vega with a rolling kick and she goes to the turnbuckles but Iyo stops her and Iyo with a press slam.  Iyo gets a near fall.  Iyo with a cross face.

Iyo with a knee and Vega with a side head lock.  Iyo goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Vega lands on her feet.  Iyo misses a splash and Vega with a kick and she runs Iyo into the turnbuckles.  Vega with a clothesline and a hammer lock DDT.  Vega goes to the turnbuckles for Meteora for a near fall.  Vega gets a few more near falls.  Vega misses a splash when Iyo moves out of the corner.  Iyo with a springboard drop kick.  Iyo goes for a slam but Vega counters into a DDT.  Vega goes for Code Red but Iyo escapes and Iyo goes for a power bomb and hits it.  Both women are down.  Iyo pulls Zelina into position for the moonsault but Vega pulls Iyo off the turnbuckles.  Vega with Code Red but Iyo rolls to the floor.  Vega gets Iyo but Iyo sends Vega into the ring steps.

Iyo sends Vega back into the ring and Iyo sets for the running double knee strike and hits it.  Iyo pulls Vega into position and Iyo with a moonsault for the three count.

Winner:  Iyo Sky (retains Championship)

Cody Rhodes walks in the back as we go to commercial.
