HOUSE OF BLACK VS. CMFTR & MORE: AEW COLLISION REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2023-08-12 20:39:00

It is Saturday and AEW Collision is live at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC. Our commentary team is Ian Riccaboni and Nigel McGuinness.

We start with a lot of hype for All In before a recap of last week’s main event between CM Punk and Ricky Starks.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring to interview Ricky Starks. After Starks comes out, Tony tells him because he beat Ricky Steamboat with his belt, he’s been suspended from wrestling for 30 days. Starks says that because Steamboat did something bad, he had to be beaten like a parent would whip a childs. He then says he has a manager’s license so he will be on the show every week, and he tells Tony to quit looking at him like that or he’ll beat him as well.

He then tells Punk it is all his fault.  He can live with the loss but can Punk live with the win with Steamboat interfering in the match. He says he’s going to put this company on fire starting next week.  He says he’s ready to start a war because the company went to war on him.

We then get a video package of the past matches between FTR and the Young Bucks.

The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) vs The Already In The Ring Iron Savages (The former Bear Country, now just going by Boulder and Bronson)

The Acclaimed come to the ring with Billy Gunn’s boots.

Bowens starts off with Bronson, and Bowens grabs a side headlock after a long stall job. They trade chops and blows. Bronson goes for a suplex, but Bowens escapes out at the back and chops Bronson to the corner. He tags in Caster who charges into Bronson, Bounder tags in and manhandles Caster, tossing him into his corner when Bowens is tagged in. Bowens tries to pick up Boulder, but he’s just too big. Bowens comes off the ropes and Boulder catches him.  Caster leaps onto Boulder as well, and Boulder carries both of them and hits a double fallaway slam as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Caster has been the babyface in peril and he avoids a flying head butt by Bronson and gets the hot tag.  Bowens cleans house. Boulder stops him by tossing him when he comes off the ropes. The Savages hit a double slam for a two count, broken up by Caster. The Savages go for their Human Stack finishing move and Caster kicks them down.

Caster is tagged in. Jack Jameson, the Savages’ manager takes a Scissor Me Timbers. The Acclaimed hit double Famousers for the pin and the win.

Winners: The Acclaimed

Caster grabs a mic and says the best two man team in the sport has returned. He says they will wrestle again on Dynamite, and they have the spirit of Billy Gunn with them. He then says the fans never got to say goodbye to Billy Gunn, and tells them to make some noise for Billy Gunn.

Backstage, Lexi Nair is with Bullet Club Gold. Jay says they are the most elite version of the Bullet Club ever. He then says the Young Bucks think they are the best brother tag team in AEW, but the Gunn are better. The Gunns then tell them not to bring super kicks to a gunfight.
