By Adam Cardoza on 2023-08-12 11:35:00

ACTION Wrestling “Into the ACTIONverse”

8/11/23 - Tyrone, GA

We’re live on IWTV! Scott Hensley is our ring announcer. Dylan Hales and Johnny Mosely are on commentary…and we’re kicking things off with the ACTION title match?!?

Match 1: Adam Priest(c) vs Billie Starkz (for the ACTION World Championship)

Priest shoves Billie and Space Jesus unloads on him with forearms. Running basement dropkick sends the champ to the floor. Starkz with the suicide dive! She’s going for the Swanton so early….Priest with a boot and gets into a scrap on the apron. She’s going for a Rubik’s cube….Priest does a hair pull to slam Billie to the apron. Priest is absolutely heeling it up and the crowd is starting to respond in kind. Wait…..why is the Good Hand are ringside? They are clearly observing the match. CEO Matt Griffin tries to go get them out of there. Priest with a snap suplex for two as the Good Hand retreats back through the front door. Billie with the rebound kick….Priest catches her off the top with a rana. Brain buster! Kick out! He tries the ddt but Billie hits a trio of germans for two! The crowd is on fire for this and VERY much behind Starkz. Neckbreaker. Bill hits the Swanton! Kick out! Priest tries a crucifix pin but Billie kicks out….she’s hung up into the ropes…..Priest hits the snap DDT and gets the three but Billie’s foot is CLEARLY under the rope.

Winner: Adam Priest2's as

Priest tries to go for a hug but Billie storms off in frustration. Noah Hossman is out here with Jaden Newman. He’s looking forward to his match with Damyan Tangra. But first, he’s got a bone to pick with Matt Griffin. WHY didn’t he book Noah for the last ACTION show? He demands that Griffin message him before every action show to make sure he knows. Hossman is ALSO mad Jaden Newman because he got hung out to dry and left to be destroyed by Krule. Noah bowls Jaden over with a lariat. Damyan Tangra hits the ring to get in Noah’s face. Matt Griffin is trying to bring some order to things. Jaden is mad. Noah is mad. Damyan is stuck in the middle. Matt Griffin makes this a triple threat….and it’s gonna be THE MAIN EVENT!

Match 2: The Good Hand (Suge D & Kevin Ryan w/ The Wall Tyler Stevens) vs Squatting Dragons (Erron Wade & Kody Manhorne)

Good Hand doesn’t let the Dragons get their pose in and bowls them over. Matt Sells joins the commentary table as this starts up. The Dragons manage to clear the ring and double kick on Suge. Wade unloading a flurry of kicks but Ryan breaks it off. Suge choking him with a shirt. Snap suplex from Ryan. Suge with a dropkick to the spine for two. Kevin Ryan runs up the ropes and sentons down. Slick spot. Butterfly suplex from Suge for two. This is very one-sided as Erron gets taken apart. Wade firing up as Suge lands spots…..Wade with a spinning head kick! Tag to Kody! Kody unloading on Kevin. The Dragons with a chest kick German combo for two! High low on Suge! The crowd chanting for squats. Kody comes flying through the ropes but the Wall catches him. He tosses him back into the ring and the Good Hand catches Manhorn into a ddt. Double Crucifix Bomb to Wade finishes the fight and the crowd booooooooooos the hell out of Good Hand’s ability to win.

Winners: The Good Hand

The Wall is in the ring. He’s going to kill the Squatting Dragons. Guys are coming out from the back to stop the assault….but the Wall is just destroying everyone. Matt Sells grabs a chair and tries to make the save but Suge tries to talk him down. Sells is not cleared to wrestle. Suge says he doesn’t want to beat up a FAN. Suge says nobody fears him because he can’t do anything. The ring is for active roster members only. Sells looking devastated. This was a f***ing BRUTAL verbal takedown.

Match 3: Ava Everett vs Devlyn Macabre

This was originally announced to be for the WxW Women’s Championship but Ava has since dropped that belt to Delmi Exo. Ava’s demeanor is something else tonight. This is not a crowd that is super familiar with her and she makes a point of getting in their attention immediately. That confidence showing through the early moments but Devlyn just smashing Everett. Devlyn arguing with the crowd, big lariat bounces Ava off the mat. Hip attack. Running knee in the corner. The crowd is behind Ava but Macabre keeps taking her over with suplexes. Kick out. Devlyn steals water from a fan, spits it in his face and pours the bottle into his crotch. Ava gets the time to recover, Ava plants Devlyn into the fans laps and chops the hell out of her. Missile dropkick launches Devlyn across the ring. Devlyn kicks out the leg, roll up for two. Ava with a snap ddt but Macabre kicks out. Macabre blocks a sweet chin music….cutter for two! Ava blocks a headlock driver to a blue thunder! She’s tuning up the band….Devlyn uses the ref as a shield. Mist into the eyes of Ava! Headlock Driver puts Ava down for the three! This was fantastic. This MAY have been the best women’s match ACTION has even put on.

Winner: Devlyn Macabre

Match 4: Terry Yaki vs Bobby Flaco

Flaco and Yaki with a handshake. This is going to be a fast paced affair. Bob’s here with the quick roll up attempt. HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! Yaki pays that back with a AY-YOOOOOOOOO. Bobby with the slide through the ropes on Yaki. Springboard crossbody. Yaki back with a dropkick. Yaki with an incredible leg trip through the ropes and a slingshot senton. Stupidly smooth. Bob changing speed and starts landing hard. Double stomp to the chest for two. Bob has turned a corner and showing his mean streak. Yaki with a flips dodge and a German out of nowhere! Roaring elbow stuns Bobby. Hangman’s DDT! Spinning blue thunder! Kick out! Yaki with a bounce kick to the back of the head. Flaco with a cutter and ddt but can’t finish it. Crowd right behind Terry Yaki. Flaco isn’t sure what to do with this. Bobby goes for the AYO Driver. Reversals…..Bobby trips off the apron. Huge somersault to the floor! Run up the rope ddt! Yaki is going so wild that Dylan Hales is just making noises on commentary and his words are failing him. This is awesome, says the crowd. Terry calling for the Yaki Crusher. Bob taking shots to the leg, Terry is hurtin’…..Bob eats an enziguri…..Flaco pushes him offf…..rewind cutter! AYO driver! That’s the three. Holy hell this was wild. All go, no slow. Bobby may have won but he shows Yaki how the crowd is doing a full-on Please Come Back for him. This was a hell of a moment for Terry Yaki.

Winner: Bobby Flaco

Mach 5: Out of this World (BK Westbrook & Erik Royal) vs Nawfside Heroes (Shoota Gabe & Jose Manuel)

I’ve seen Nawfside Heroes a few times on Next Up a while back but this is really their first shot on a bigger stage to show their stuff. Knocking off OotW would make for one HELL of a debut. Shoota Gabe trading holds with Westbrook and proving that “Shoota” moniker is well deserved. BK with a shoulder tackle but Gabe with an arm drag to cut it all off again. Tandem dropkick! Jose trying to hold BK down. Gabe in but Erik hits a blind tag. Gabe tosses to the mat. It’s time for the Acegawd’s power. Huge Royal tackle launches Gabe to the floor where BK puts the puts to him. Knee to the gut. Tag to BK, flying elbow. Royal picks up BK and drops him into Gabe for two. Jose break up the pin but the tide has turned DRASTICALLY. Gabe getting stretched…..Royal pulling BK for extra leverage. Ref Kim is missing all this bad behavior as OotW keeps cheating. Gabe goes for the leg of the Acegawd but Royal suplexes him hard to the corner. Gabe with some fight left in him, he escapes and tags Jose! BK eats a superman punch! Jose dodging the Acegawd and the bottom rope breaks! Ace is down and out but BK flies in to break up the pin! Back back drop from Gabe. Double clothesline sends BK out! Jose Manuel was a dive over the top! Nawfside trying to put down Royal! Jose hits a double stomp! Royal kicks out! BK with a flippcutter to Gabe! Jose comes down and hits nothing. BK picks up Jose and we get an ally-oop Kobe for the win! Good match.

Winners: Out of this World

Match 6: Rico Gonzalez vs Brogan Finlay

Brogan comes in with the aggression but Rico’s been on such a hot streak of matches lately. Rico with the high flying reversals and flying dropkick. He goes for a double moonsault but eats knees. Backbreaker for two. Big suplex for two. Brogan wants to end it but Rico intercepts him on the top. Rico dropping bobs to the back! Rico got for a superplex…..Brogan up and over and hits a cross body for two! Brogan goes for a MACK 10?!? ON RICO?!? Rico says hellllll no to that s***. Flying forearms! Rico with a taunting slap and a wheel kick! Brogan heads to the floor but Rico topes right out at him! Round the world driveway boot! Brogan almost steals the win with a rollup. Rico with the rollup back, He rebounds off the kickoff to a double stop for another near fall. Rico comes running….in a huge lariat! Michanoku driver doesn’t finish the job. Brogan can’t believe this wasn’t it. Brogan puts on top...he shoves him onto the stage. Rico runs back to the apron with a hard forearm and flies in with a double stomp to a standing Brogan. They crash to earth and Rico gets the three. Sick.

Winner: Rico

Main Event: Noah Hossman vs Damyan Tangra vs Jaden Newman

KRULE’S MUSIC JUST HIT WHY IS KRULE HERE HE’S GOT HIS VACATED IWTV TITLE AND HE’S STORMING AROUND THE RING. KRULE GETS IN SCOTT HENSLEY’S FACE AND FORCES THIS TO BE A 4-WAY MATCH FOR THE “REAL” IWTV CHAMPIONSHIP. OMG.

Main Event: Noah Hossman vs Damyan Tangra vs Jaden Newman vs KRULE(c?) (for the IWTV Independent Wrestling Championship?)

Krule destroys Hossman. Damyan and Jaden team up and try to flurry the big man…nope. Krule just threw Jaden into Tang’s back. Tangra hits a big boot….no effect. Tangra smashed to the apron. Krule is just handling his business around the ring. Hossman avoids a chokeslam  on the apron and Hossman cannonballs to the monster….Krule went down! Jaden and Hossman trading hands in the center! Krule and Tangra pull them out and go to town. This is just so much chaos we’ve had to go to full on split screen. Dylan Hales is confirming that Krule is NOT defending the official sanctioned IWTV title but he sure is defending that belt. Jaden blasts Krule with a chair! Everyone taking turns dropping bombs into the monster…Krule right back up and tosses Tangra into the ring. Tangra throwing hands and leg kicks….he comes running into a trip elbow drop combo. That ruled. Tangra trying to take him down with flying European uppercuts….and runs right into a choke breaker. Hoss sends Tangra flying and he Germans Krule! Hossman Lariat! Krule kicks out! Tangra tries his luck but Jaden breaks it up. He wraps the hangman’s clutch on Tangra. Hoss breaks up the submission but Krule catches Hossman with a Scorched Earth for the win! The triple threat was going to be good but I didn’t expect a Krule-based main event. This was a pretty cool little preview of the energy he’ll be bringing up to Worcester this Sunday at Americanrana where he faces Sawyer Wreck…but also where Matt Tremont will be defending the OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED IWTV Championship against Alec Price. Until then!

Winner: KRULE

And that’s it for “Into the ACTIONVerse”! - As our first Action show in a post-AC Mack world, this was pretty great. Starting with the title match initially felt weird but seeing how the show progressed, this was absolutely the correct move. I said it before but I’ll repeat it: Devlyn Macabre vs Ava Everett was probably the best women’s match ACTION has put on to date. This show was an opportunity for a lot of folks. Terry Yaki stood WAY OUT. Nawfside Heroes were destined to fall but showed they could hang with an ACTION Futures winner and former ACTION champion. Main Event Hossman AND Tangra? Yes please. That Suge promo to Matt Sells? Jesus that was brutal but awesome. The main event went through a crazy metamorphosis through the show from a potentially very good mid-card match to a really cool triple threat main event…to an absolute chaotic war that actually closed the show. From a production standpoint, the camera feed quality and white balancing could use some tightening up but the overall show audio was NOTICEABLY improved over recent events. Made it a very easy watch that flew through its 2-ish hours. You know where I stand with ACTION so obviously I’m prone to enjoy it but this one felt more so than usual? I called this the first show of a post-AC Mack world and if this is a sort of “reboot” or “season premier”…I think they are headed in a good direction.
