Wrestling Open Week 84

8/10/23 - IWTV.live

We’re back in the White Eagle and we have a good chunk of the Eliminator Cup’s Opening Round on the card for tonight!

Spotlight match: Eric Chacha vs DJ Powers

I took one look at Powers and knew I was gonna hate him. Chacha taking the brash Powers over and over. Big dropkick. Powers grabs a chin lock. That chin sure is locked. Powers back dropped into the rope. DJ guts him on the top rope. He comes from the top. Chacha catches him with a cutter! That’s the three!

Winner: Eric Chacha

Match 1: Ricky Smokes vs Landon Hale

Smokes makes a point to pull in Skully, Landon’s skeleton “fan” and drop an elbow on him. The Good Doctor adjusts those bones and sends him back with a clean bill of bone health. Smokes running his mouth hard and trying to get in Hale’s head. The Good Doctor weathers the storm and hits a dropkick to get going. Ricky with a code breaker monkey flip out of the corner. Ricky is loud and very much all about showing the crowd that this is HIS show. Landon with a Springboard forearm and handspring stunner! Fishermans’s suplex for two! The “Smokeshow” up to the top…Land runs up the ropes and hits a Spanish Fly from the top! Hale can barely make the pin and Smokes twitches free of the there just in time! Hale goes for another handspring but Ricky grabs him out of the air, hitting a belly to back suplex transitioning to a cutter on the way down for the three. Really enjoyed this. Awesome finish. Very hot start for Open tonight and I hope this sets the tone for the rest of the card1

Winner: Ricky Smokes

Match 2: Brad Baylor vs El Jhonny Santos

The crowd is hyped as hell for Santos but the Baylor Brigade is here too.  Santos taking Baylor down over and over. Baylor sweeps the leg and Santos hits the back of his head on the buckle. Cutter drops Johnny. Baylor landing elbows. Jhonny firing up…quick rollup for two! Dropkick from the second! Tornado ddt! Baylor keeps kicking out. Baylor catches Santos on the ropes and swinging him down with a neckbreaker for the win.

Winner: Brad Baylor

Match 3: The Even Stevens (Steve Azure & Steve Somerset w/ Brother Greatness) vs Miracle Generation (Kylon King & Dustin Waller) (Eliminator Cup Opening Round)

Miracle Generation are the defending Eliminator Cup Champions AND the IWTV tag team champions. This should be a breeze, right? King is just tossing these Steves around. Dustin caught caught though and he’s subject to some double teaming but again, Dustin’s a champ. He weathers the Steve Storm and gets to Kylon. Rolling DVD sets up the big combo and a moonsault ends Azure and the Church’s hope of advancing.

Winners: Miracle Generation

Brother Greatness enters the ring to berate the Steves. He’s tired of them losing. He asks WHAT HAPPENED? He storms off because he is DONE.  Are the Church even going to make it to Americanrana???

JGeorge is here with a message from Max Caster. Something something he wants to bulldoze Worcester. Max even includes a se tin on how he is counting on JGeroge to beat Boofa tonight.

Match 4: JGeorge vs Dezmond Cole

Cole is just making JGeorge’s life miserable. The director needs to run away. And away. Boofa does like thing and chases him down on the apron. JGeroge with a hotshot and back suplex out of the blue. Cole chopping out of danger but JGeroge dodges a sweep right into a Legdrop for two. Back stabber out of the corner but Boofa kicks out. Springboard moonsault reversal! Split legged stunner. Superkick trapped in the buckle! Flying spin kick! Swanton bomb for the win!

Winner: Dezmond Cole

Why is there a bingo ball roller?!?

Oh. I see. Next Thursday is NO RESPECT! It’s the no respect roulette. The first two names drawn will be in a tag  match against the second two names. The winner of the tag match will face each other to determine the number one contender for the Wrestling Open Championship! So based on this setup, it’s gonna be:

Channing Thomas & Bobby Orlando vs Bronson & Fancy Ryan Clancy….wait wait wait, aren’t (f*** it, let’s call them the) FANCY SAVAGES fighting tonight????

Match 5: MORTAR & Brian Milonas vs Shook Crew (Bobby Orlando & Bryce Donovan) (Eliminator Cup Opening Round)

Mortar has the water cannon. He makes us (more) wet. Thank gourd, SOME of us had the foresight to bring our umbrellas. Mom is wilding on Mortar. We are very wet. Milonas steps in and Bryce has to bring the power of the Shook to the table. Bryce can’t stop clowning around and Milonas tries to take advantage. Bryce can dodge a big running man though. Shook goes for the double chokeslam but Milonas chokeslams both of them. Vertical suplex to Orlando and Mortar is back to be a cannonball. Bobby getting smashed. Bryce in but Mortar has a handle on this? Ripcord black hole slam! Bryce has the anaconda vise but Milonas just walks in, breaks the hold, drags Mortar back to the corner and tags in. Bobby tries to fly at Milonas but gets caught in a double slam for two. They have Orlando set for the finish but Bryce bombs him off the top! Double chokeslam to Milonas of the second! Bryce slams down Mortar and Bobby finishes the wet boy off with a dab elbow for the win!

Winners: Shook Crew

Tristan Kyle is here for a debut. Joe Ocasio was probably his opponent but he isn’t dressed to wrestle. Joe hits his spine buster and yells at Gal Barkay again. Barkay is here! He hits his pendulum chokeslam on Tristan. Joe uses Tristan as a weapon to get out of the ring and challenges Gal to a rubber match next week at No Respect! Hype for this match and Tristan is just left for DEAD.

Match 6: Big Business (Brad Hollister, Victor Chase & Julio Cruz w/ TJ Crawford) vs Love Doug, Rex Lawless & RJ Rude)

Love Doug gives Brad an invitation to his wedding this weekend. Hollister rips it up! Doug throws flower petals and had some smooches for Bradley Baconfarts. Doug serving up dropkicks to bricks. The Bachelor Party is running this show, Rex and Victor trading punches…Chase eats a fallaway slam! RJ pops up to a splash for two! RJ gets caught in the business and I’d love to call this cheating but they didn’t start this….but they were BOUND to do it. Rex is laying bricks on the mat. Bacon uses his focus to blindside with a German. Doug and Rex toss them out, Julio eats a lionsault for two! Bacin and Chase pull Doug and Rex off the apron. Triple business is booming to RJ…KICK OUT! Triple pickup of RJ…Rex bowls them all over! Huge brawl in the ring, Ref Gina has completely lost control and calls the match over.

Winners: No Contest

Match 7: Fancy Ryan Clancy vs Bronson

This has been brewing for a few weeks…and now they have to fight…and tag next week…and maybe fight again??? Bronson tries a blindside but Clancy is ready! Brawl right to the floor!  Robson bounced off the apron but is right back with a snap powerslam. Stupidly loud crack on a chop. Press flapjack and lariat to the fancy one. This isn’t wrestling…this is a beating. A senton squashes Clancy for two. Clancy with a slam! Dropkick! He’s getting some fire! swinging head scissor! He tries a sunset flip but Bronson just drops and squashes him with a seated senton. Clancy whipped into the ref…which allows Bronson to kick him in the junk and rolls Clancy up for the win.

Winner: Bronson

Main Event: Mane Event (Midas Black & Jay Lyon) vs Number One Beasts (Alec Price & Ichiban) (Eliminator Cup Opening Round)

Price and Ichiban are just running over the circus boys. We are still booing Mane Event by the way. Midas uses his body as a shield and Lyon hits a great lariat shoulder block combo! The Mane event giving the beatdown to Price. Double stomp to the spine. Midas tries to grind him down…Price with a boot and hop to the tag! The champ running wild on Mane event! Springboard double dropkick! Lyon catches Ichi out of the air…STO/Flatliner combo. Price booted off the apron! Lyon throws Ichiban high up and he comes down into a Midas cutter! Midas launched into a swinging ddt! They try to fly but Ichiban gets the knees up on both of them! Double flatliner! He’s too exhausted to make the pin or the tag. Ref bill is counting them out…..wait…WHO IS THIS MASKED MAN??? Price has been replaced by the returning X! X is flying high and wiping out Mane event over and over! This is wild. Swanton to Midas! Kick out! X is going for the kill shot and the Stetson Ranch hits the ring! Stetson and Miles join forces with Mane Event…MANE EVENT SUPERKICKS THE STETSON RANCH OUT OF THE RING! The hula hoop is out! Lyon dives through the ring at the ranch!!! We have turned mane Event back! Price and Ichiban share fist bumps with the circus act and confirm they are cool now. Ichiban sent flying, Grand Finale to Price! Ichiban makes the save. Lyon eats a destroyer! One more time cause Midas is trash! Flatliner! Ichiban flies out at Lyon as Price hits the Suuuuprize kick for the win! Sick main event.

Winners: Ichiban & Alec Price

Price gives Ichiban the ring so he can confront Ray Jaz. Jaz is here. I hate it. We all hate it. He cuts a promo about how he’s taking the Wrestling Open championship at No Respect. Ichiban has a new phrase for us: “49 and 1”. Will Ray Jaz take the title and go 50 wins undefeated….or will Ichiban hold onto the title? Until next week.

But this Sunday? Alec Price is going to fight Matt Tremont for the IWTV championship at Americanrana. He’s ready to bring the belt to Worcester and defend it every week.

And that’s it for this week! We set up a LOT of stuff for No Respect next week but it also served as a go-home moment for Americanrana, this Sunday. Will Alec Price be able take the IWTV gold away from the Bulldozer? We’ll see VERY soon.
