8/6/23 RESULTS FROM THE G1 CLIMAX 33, B BLOCK WINNERS DETERMINED

From Osaka, Japan:

1 - DOUKI and SANADA vs. Ryohei Oiwa and Kaito Kiyomiya

SANADA forces Oiwa to tap out to Skull End.

2 - Tomohiro Ishii and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kosei Fujita and Mikey Nichols

Tanahashi forces Fujita to tap out to a Texas Cloverhold.

Ishii and Nicholls brawl after the match.  They will meet in the C Block final night.

3 - Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Tama Tonga vs. HENARE and Jeff Cobb

Cobb pins Tenzan after a Tour of the Islands.

4 - Togi Makabe and Eddie Kingston vs. Chase Owens and David Finlay

Finlay pins Makabe after Into Oblivion.

5 - BUSHI, Yota Tsuji, Shingo Takagi and Tetsuya Naito vs. Dick Togo, SHO, Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL

Naito pins Togo after hitting a Destino.

After the match, EVIL tried to shave Takagi’s hair.  LIJ chases him off.  That could be a storyline going forward.

B BLOCK Matches:

6 - YOSHI-HASHI vs. KENTA

KENTA reverses out of Karma and rolled up YOSHI-HASHI with an inside cradle and a pin

KENTA earns 6 points and YOSHI-HASHI finishes with 4 straight losses.

7 - Taichi vs. Great O-Khan

O-Khan locks in a vicious head and arm choke.

Taichi taps out.

8 - Kazuchika Okada vs. Tanga Loa

Okada took Tanga out to the floor and smashed him into the English announcer desk.   Some boos from the fans for Okada.  Some chants for “Loa”.

Okada hits the Rainmaker and pins Tanga Loa.

Okada wins the B Block with 12 points.

9 - El Phantasmo vs. Will Ospreay

Great match.   They hit every finisher.  Countered each other’s moves.  Two counts.  Ospreay hits a Hidden Blade and a Storm Driver ‘93.

Ospreay pins ELP.

Ospreay wins the 2nd place in the B Block with 10 points.

Really great match.   Even in defeat, El Phantasmo looked great.   Ospreay sold for him and brought him up to his level.  Check out this match if you have a chance.
