BIG MATCHES SET FOR WEMBLEY- ONGOING AEW COLLISION REPORT

It is Saturday and AEW Collision is live at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, NC. Our commentary team is Ian Riccaboni and Nigel McGuinness. And I wonder if I am the only wrestling fan watching Collision instead fo Summer Slam

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) AEW Tag Team Champions vs Big Bill and Brian Cage w/Prince Nana

Cash and Cage start off the match. Cage starts by beating down Cash. They run the ropes and Cage runs right through Cash. Dax tags in and he tries to take down Cage with shoulder tackles, and he is unable to, but Cage gives a hip toss.  Cage tries a gorilla press, but Dax is able to reverse it and drops down onto Cage for a one count.

Dax slides through Cage;’s legs, but can’t lift him, so he instead gets an O’Conner roll for two.  Dax tags in and Cage runs through both of FTR and tags in Bill. Bill misses an elbow drop and gets in blows on Bill, but Bill is able to grab, slam him and cover for two. Dax tags in and they give him a double chop, and then work Bill over with a quick tag. This sets off the tag team siren and all four men are in the ring. FTR tries for the shatter machine, but can’t get Bill up and he instead slams Cash onto Dax.

Bill gorilla presses Cash out of the ring onto Dax again as we go picture in picture.  

When we return to full screen, Bill  is beating down Cash in front of his mom on the floor. He taunts her and she slaps him.  This makes Bill beat down Cash harder. Bill rolls Cash into the ring and tags in Cage. Cage suplexes Cash into the ring while on the second rope and covers for two. Bill is tagged in and mocks the crowd chanting for FTR. Bill puts Cash in the torture rack and then drop him. Cash is able to get a schoolboy rollup but the ref can’t even count one before Bill escapes and then clotheslines Cash.  

Cage is tagged in and Bill whips him to the corner, but Cash dodges.  Cash then suplexes Bill and crawls for the hot tag. He goes after Cage and Bill and finally knocks Bill out of the ring and is abel to stagger Bill with blows and clothesline attempts.  Dax puts Cage on his shoulders for Cash to get a leaping bulldog off the top for two.

Cage is able to hold up box Dax and Cash and tosses them both. Caeg puts Cash in a stalling suplex and Bill hits Dax with a jack hammer for two at the same time. Bill puts Cash on his shoulders and Dax pulls him down before they can hit the doomsday device. FTR is tossed out of the ring and Cage hits a leaping dive.  Bill gets the big boot on Cage for two.

Cash shoves Cage into Bill on the apron and FTR is able to turn that into the Shatter Machine for the pin and the win.

Winners and still AEW Tag Team Champions:  FTR

Dax grabs the mic and says he’s gonna get in a little trouble tonight. He said ten years ago, they said they would be the greatest tag team of all time and they have won titles everywhere. He said there is one thing left for them to do. Young. Bucks.  At Wembley Stadium. 

Tony Schiavone is in the back with Juice  Robinson and the cardboard Jay White. Jay knocks it down and says the Gunns will show him how to do commentary. They mock Tony. Jay says tonight, it will be lights out for Metalik.  They all put the Bullet Club symbol in Tony’s face. 

Kris Statlander (TBS Champion) vs Mercedes Martinez

Martinez goes right at Statlander and beats her in the corner, but Satatlander fires back and does the same to Martinez. Martinez escapes a suplex and picks the legs, but Statlander trips her and hits a somerset plancha. Martinez is up and stomps Statlander and into the corner. Martinez gets a pair of butterfly suplexes. Statlander blocks the third. Statlander gets a slight flurry before Martinez hits a series of blows and covers Statlander for two.  Martinez works her over in the corner as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Stalander gets a series of clotheslines while taking control. Statlander runs into an elbow, but then knocks Martinezs out of the ring. Martinez dodges a crossbody but Statlander hits a back breaker on the floor. She rolls Martinez into the ring, and Martinez rolls to the other side of the ring. Martinez is able to hit a guillotine on the top rope.  She charges Statlander, who hits a power slam for two.

They fight on the top turnbuckle and Martinez gets a suplex, hooking her knees on the top rope to stay there. Martinez gets a running knee for two. Statlander reverses a fisherman’s buster for one. Statlander gets a fisherman’s buster driver for two. Statlander goes for a wheelbarrow, but Martinez reverses it for two. Statlander is able to get a rollup and bridges back to hold on for the pin and the win.

Martinez attacks after the bell thinking she kicked out at two. Diamante shows and starts beating down Statlander as well.  Willow Nightingale runs to the ring for the save.

In the back, Tony Schiavone is with Toni Storm and says she won’t freak out and asks if she is a star any more. She says this is not what is right for her. She says the interview is over and tells Tony to shut up. And when he tosses back to  the announce team she yells at him to shut up from off screen.

Samoa Joe (Ring of Honor TV Champion) vs The Already In The Ring Serpentico

Serpentico is slammed and put in the Coquina Clutch in record time.

Joe challenges CM Punk for a match at Wembley since a roll up is not a good enough finish to their feud. He then says if he has to wait for next week, he will convince Punk.

We get a video package for Andrade El Idolo.

Tony Schiavonte has a per-taped sit down with The Acclaimed and asks them about Billy Gunn leaving his boots in the ring.  Bowens says Gunjn is firm in his decision that he is retired, and he feels he lost a step in big pressure matches. Max says that he respects Billy’s decision, but Billy gave them so much and he still has so much to give. Bowens says Billy was the one person who believed in them and he hopes Billy knows how much they and the fans love him.

The House Of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) AEW Trios Champions w/Julia Hart vs Lee Johnson, Action Andretti, and Darius Martin

The Lee Johnson team seems like they went to catering and said, “Who wants to be on TV tonight” and they are the first three to raise their hands. The chosen stipulation is that Julia Hart is banned from ringside.

We start with King and Martin, and King tosses him to the corner. Martin leaps at King and King doesn’t move and then drops Martin. Martin tries for a subset flip and King grabs him. Martin gets in a series of kicks and goes to the top for a cross body and bounces off King. Black tags in and Andretti is tagged in. Andretti gets a hurricanrana. When he follows Black to the floor, Black takes over again.

Andretti is rolled into the ring and King takes down Andretti with a leg sweep and tags in Matthews. Matthes tosses Andretti onto the top rope and hits a big kick as we go picture in picture. 

When we return to full screen, Andretti gets the hot tag to Johnson who cleans house. It ends when he tries a splash into Black in the corner and misses so they are able to drop him. King is tagged in and hits a cannonball.  King pins Johnson and Andretti break it up at two. Andretti hits a dive on Black and Matthews. Martin is tagged in and hits a leap  onto King for two. Martin and Andretti hit a series of kicks on King, but the entire House fo Black is abel to stop them, and King hits a clothesline on Martin for the pin and the win.

We are told next week, the House of Black will face CM Punk and FTR.

In the back, Tony Schiavone is with Powerhouse Hobbs, and QT Marshall interrupts and tells Tony to leave. He gives Hobbs Cuban links and a big match in All Out in Chicago.  Hobbs says he doesn’t want or need help, but he’ll take the gold chains.

Tony is with Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Cage’s daughter. Cage says he is nwo a role model for children, and how Darby Allin is monitoring an 18 year old kid.  Cage’s daughter asks for the belt, and he asks if she won the belt. He then says only he wins the belt and tells her to leave. He then tells security that she is not credentialed and to remove her from the arena.

Jay White vs the already in the ring Metalik

Jay White comes out with the entire Bullet Club Gold and cardboard Jay White.  The Gunns join commentary. Jay teases tossing his shirt to the crowd and instead he tosses it to the Gunns.

Jay works over Metalik in the corner. Metalik gets a little offense before Jay hits a DDT and covers for two. Metalik is tossed to the outside and Jay tosses him into the ring post. Back in the ring Jay hits him with a back breaker for two. Jay gets a half crab and Metalik gets a quick rope break. Jay then slingshots Metalik into the bottom rope for two. 

Jay tugs at the mask and Metalik fights back. Metalik gets a sling blade and a hurricanrana from the second rope. Metalik then hits a moonsault onto Jay on the floor after Jay slides through his legs. In the ring, Metalik misses a moonsault and Jay hits a cobra clutch slam and a blade runner for the pin and the win.

Winner: Jay White

Jim Ross joins commentary.  Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat comes to the ring in referee gear. 

CM Punk (REAL AEW World Champion) vs Ricky Starks

Almost a half hour for the main event.  

They lock up collar and elbow and move to a side headlock. They run the ropes and Punk gett a hip toss and Starks rolls to the outside. Punk holds the ropes open for him. Starks get into the ring elsewhere. This time they lock up with arm bars. Punk takes Starks down for one. Punk hits a shoulder tackle and mocks Starks’s pose. Starks gets a waistlock and then moves to a side headlock. They run the ropes and Starks gets a hip toss and Punk rolls out of the ring.

Starks then mocks PUnk and holds the ropes open for Punk. Starks gets a kick to Punk’s midsection and then works him into the corner. Starks beats Punk down in the corner and then slams him into the turnbuckle  in another corner. SDtarks calls for the rochambeau and Punk escapes and tries for the GTS and Starks escapes. Starks clothesline them both over the top rope as we go picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Punk and Starks are slapping each other, and Starks then beats down Punk in the corner until Punk reverses it and does the same. Starks rolls to the outside and Punk follows him. They fight at ringside with Steamboat watching. Steamboat pulls Punk off of Starks when Punk won’t break.They roll into the ring. Punk is able to mount Starks in the corner and Starks drops Punk across the top rope. Starks then hits a baseball slide on Punk, knocking him to the floor. Starks follows and tosses him in the ring. Starks covers for one.

Starks hits a flying strike from the top for one. Starks then puts on a rear bear hug. Punk works to his feet and escapes with a series of elbows. Starks whips Punk into the corner and follows with a leaping stomp. Starks calls for the rochambeau and whips Punk into the corner again. Punk is able to get a leaping cross body for two. Punk then gets a spear through the ropes and tries for a sunset flip.  Starks holds the ropes.  Starks then drops an elbow for two and Punk grabs the ropes for a break as we go picture in picture.

When we come back to full screen, Punk is beating on Starks on the top and hits a superplex. Punk takes a long time to roll Starks over for a two count. Punk blocks strikes and knocks Starks down twice. Punk then hits a leg lariat as Starks comes off the ropes and follows with a neckbreaker. Punk hits the rising knee in the corner followed by a bulldog for two. Punk goes to the top and when he leaps, Starks rolls through for two. Starks is lifted for the GTS, but Punk gets a roll up for two. 

Both men go to opposite corner. Punk charges, and Starks grabs him and slams him for two. Starks pulls Punk to the corner and goes to the top to walk the ropes and Punk pulls him into the GTS. Starks escapes and shoots Punk into the ringpost through the ropes. Starks  charges at him and Punk leaps over so that Starks runs into the turnbuckle.  Punk gets a rollup for two. Punk gets a kick and covers again for two. 

Punk goes for a pile driver and Starks reverses it for an Alabama slam for two.  They start to run the ropes and Starks runs into the referee. Starks covers Punk with feet on the ropes and Steamboat knocks Starks’s feet off the ropes. Punk rolls up Starks and Steamboat rolls into the ring and counts the pin and the win.

Winner and still REAL AEW World Champion: CM Punk

Starks attacks Steamboat and starts whipping him with a belt. Punk tries to make the save and Starks knocks him out of the ring. Punk comes back with a chair and Starks bails.
