It is Saturday and AEW Collision is live at the XL Center in Hartford, CT. Our commentary team is Ian Riccaboni and Nigel McGuinness.
Once again, the show starts with short promos by everyone involved in tonight’s shows.
Andrade El Idolo vs Buddy Matthews in a “Andrade’s Mask In A Ladder Mask”
Jul;ie Hart is on the apron and as Andradre is asking the ref to tell her to leave, Buddy attacks. Buddy and Andrade give each other chops in the corners. Andradre is able to clothesline Buddy out of the ring. Andradr5e gets in a few kicks as Buddy tries to grab him on the apron. Andradre leaps onto the ladder and then hits a moonsault from the ladder onto Buddy on the floor.
Andrade shoves ladders into the ring. Buddy gets a series of kicks and knees until Buddy shoves him into a ladder. Andradre then hits two suplexes, but before the third, Buddy escapes and when Buddy runs at Andrade, he whips Buddy into a ladder. Andrade puts a ladder in front of Buddy and charges, but Buddy tosses the ladder into Andrade. Buddy goes out fo the ring to have his arm checked as we go picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Andrade is on the floor and Buddy has set up a ladder bridge from the ring to a ladder on the floor. We are told the doctor adjusted Buddy’s shoulder. Buddy also sets up a ladder between the ring and the announce table and Buddy tosses Andrade into it. The crowd chants for tables, and AREN’T LADDERS ENOUGH?
Buddy and Andrade fight on the apron They tease being knocked onto the ladder with their fight and finally Andrade appears Buddy through the ropes, but Buddy is able to turn it into a DDT on the ladder. Buddy then makes the crowd happy by pulling out a table, which he sets up in the corner and then runs Andrade into it. Buddy climbs the ladder and Andrade tips him off it and then hits an uppercut, knocking Buddy on the ladder bridged on the other side.
Andrade climbs the ladder benign used to hold up the bridged ladder Buddy is on. Buddy starts to get up and calls for Buddy to join him. Andrade hits a sunset bomb onto the bridged ladder. They bounce off the ladder onto the floor. Andrade gets into the ring and slowly starts climbing. Buddy starts up on the same side as Andrade tries for the mask, and Buddy pulls Andrade off the ladder, and nails a rising knee as Andrade falls.
Julia Hart has pulled out handcuffs, and Buddy mounts Andrade on the ring apron and handcuffs him. Julia is teasing him with the key, and as Buddy comes at him with a chair, he kicks it into Buddy, and it ricochets, knocking the key out of Julia's hand.
Andrade frees himself and rolls into the ring. Buddy pulls him back onto the apron, and Andrade puts the handcuffs on Buddy. Andrade takes the keys and tosses them. Julia hart gets bolt cutters as Andrade climbs the ladder. Julia gives up and gets on Andrade’s back. Buddy is able to cut the handcuffs and he climbs the ladder to be knocked down by Andrade. Julia gets off Andrade’s back and is on the opposite side of the ladder and she starts slapping him. He grabs her hand and tosses her into Buddy, and they go through the table as Andrade grabs his mask.
Winner: Andrade El Idolo
In the back, Tony Schiavone is with Miro and he asks about Miro’s battle coming soon, and instead, Aaron Solow goes after Miro with a chair. Poor choice by Aaron, as Miro just beats the hell out of him and yells for Tony to come back.
Darby Allin vs Minoru Suzuki
Darby said he wanted a fight and didn’t care who it was.
Poor choice, Darby. That’s two poor choices in a row tonight.
Darby attacks Suzuki during the Big Moment of his song and then dives onto him. Darby sets Suzuki in a chair after biting him and then hits a drop kick off the apron.
Then the bell rings.
Suzuki gets in the ring and sits on the mat. Darby punches him and it makes Suzuki gets up and Darby keeps punching and Suzuki doesn’t move until he nails Darby, knocking him across the ring. He then batters Darby off the apron and tosses him around at ringside. He rolls Darby back in the ring and keeps beating down Darby getting a two count after a brutal kick to Darby’s chest.
Suzuki starts pulling at Darby’s bandages around his ribs as we go to picture in picture. When we return to full screen, Darby is crawling back into the ring and Suzuki whips him into the ropes and knees him as he comes off. Suzuki whips Darby into the ropes and Darby gets a surprise roll up for two. They stand up and darby chops Suzuki.
The crowd chants that Darby made a mistake and Suzuki drops Darby with a single chop and then calls for Darby to try again. He does for the same result. Suzuki puts both hands behind his back and Darby tries a few strikes and a sunset flip for two. He then whips Suzuki into the corner, but Suzuki gets a sleeper hold and starts the Gotch style piledriver, but Darby gets out of it. They run the ropes and Darby gets a coffin drop off the ropes and then one from the top. Suzuki turns it into a sleeper, but Darby flips over and holds on for three.
Winner: Darby Allin
On the big screen, Christian Cage and Luchasaurus, and he says that Darby has too much going on to go for his…um..their title. Cage says they will send Darby back to the mall without the title.
Samoa Joe ROH TV Champion vs The Already In The Ring Gravity
Will Gravity be making the third poor choice in a row?
Gravity does his slow walk gimmick and then grabs a waistlock on Joe, and Joe escape4s. Gravity does the slow walk again and Joe hits a kick to the midsection and whips him into the ropes. Gravity gets a hurricanrana and another move before Joe catches him and works him over in the corner. Gravity is whipped into the corner, and he climbs the ropes to leap onto Joe.
Joe just gets out of the way. Joe then lays in blows and hits the muscle buster for the pin and the win.
Winner: Samoa Joe
After a break, Tony Schiavone is in the ring to talk to CM Punk. A lot more cheers for Punk than last week, but you can hear boos as well. The crowd chants CM Punk as he gets in the ring.
Tony asks about the bag Punk carries. Punk says he just got to town two hours ago because of terrible travel, but he always makes it to the towns for the people. He then says he is the first wrestler to mention Wembley Stadium and we’ll know who he is facing by the end of the night. He then talks about how Ricky Starks can only beat him by cheating. He says about the bag, he has been left holding it, and it’s a responsible position he is in.
The crowd chants “What’s in the bag.”
He says that Starks thinks his kindness is weakness. He says he’s not going to be nice any more and he pulls out the title belt and says he is the real champion. Because he earned it. He says no one has beaten him for it since last September. He then says he has his symbol on it, and he spray paints an X on it. He says the X means he is straight edge and being straight edge means he’s better than you.
He says he is the real world’s champion.
Ricky Starks comes out and says he wants a real entrance and tells the truck to play his music.
Starks then comes to the ring for his full entrance.
Starks grabs a mic and says Punk told a great ol’ story, but Ricky is sold on gold and Punk would have done what he did. Starks says what is on Punk’s shoulder belongs to him because he has beaten Punk twice. Punk asks if the referees beat him twice. Starks says a win is a win and the title should belong to him.
Punk says that Ricky wants a title shot and Ricky says he deserves a title shot. We get dueling chants. Puink says if they wrestle again, he’ll want a special guest referee, and Starks says fine, since Punk has no friends here even if he has to go to Stamford to get someone.
Punk asks if Starks wants a shot at the champ, and Punk says he’s got it. They shake hands and the match is next week. As Ricky leaves, Punk tells Tony to announce the guest referee. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat.
We get a video package to build up FTR vs Adam Cole and MJF for the tag team titles.
The Gunns (Colton and Austin Gunn) and Juice Robinson vs Darius Martin, Action Andretti and El Hijo Del Vikingo
Colton and Darius start off and Colton shoves Martin to the ropes. They run the ropes and Darius hits a cross body as we go to picture in picture. We are told that Dante Martin is recovering ahead of schedule, which is great news.
When we return to full screen, Vikingo is our babyface in peril and there is a cardboard cutout of Jay White at ringside. Vikngo gets the hot tag to Andretti, and he hits a series of flying moves against the Gunns. It ends with him getting a Spanish Fly on Austin and Juice breaks it up. The Gunns and Juice are on the outside as Vikingo is tossed onto them by Andretti and Martin on the top.
The Gunns return to the ring and they take out Martin and Andretti. The Gunns hit 3:10 to Yuma on Martin for the pin and the win.

Kiera Hogan vs Mercedes Martinez
Martinez nails Hogan with a big boot and then beats her down in the corner. Hogan is able to get boots up and a drop kick. Hogan goes for a wheelbarrow and Martinexz solamas her instead. Martinez hits a stalled vertical brain buster for two. Hogan tries to fight to her feet, but Martinez gets a fireman’s carry. Hogan fights her way free and goes to the top. Martinez meets her there. Martinez gets a draping neckbreaker for two as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Hogan gets a two count after a cover. Martinez is up and gets a series of strikes. Hogan answers with a pair of kicks and Martinez is able to get a suplex. Mercedez gets a bayonet and follows with the Brass City Sleeper.
Winner: Mercedez Martinez
Martinez is slow to release the hold so Kris Statlander runs to the ring. Martinez gets out of the ring, and Statlander checks on Hogan. Martinez grabs the belt and nails Statlander with it, but Willow Nightingale runs down to make the save.
FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) AEW Tag Team Champions vs MJF and Adam Cole
FTR is booed LOUDLY. Then we get dueling “Double Clothesline” “FTR” chants.
Cole and Dax start off and Cole gets a quick arms drag. Dax gets a headlock takeover. They lock up and Cole forces them to the corner. Dax gets a chop as they break and after a second chop, Cash is tagged in. Cash gets a quick one count and then Cash gets a side headlock on the mat. They work to their feet, Cole shoots Cash into the ropes and Cash gets a shoulder tackle. Cole answers with an insigiri and MJF gets in the ring. They shoot him into the ropes and Dax grabs him to stop the double clothesline.
MJF tags in and calls for Dax. MJF points for Dax to tag in and MJF charges him. MJF goes to the floor and struts, and Dax tags in. MJF picks the leg, and tries for an arm drop, but Dax dodges. Dax gets a side headlock, and MJF shoots him into the ropes and Dax hits a shoulder tackle. MJF gets a scoop slam. They run the ropes and MJF says he hurt his leg. The ref checks his ankle and then he cheap shots Dax.
He teases a crotch stomp, and Dax backs into the ropes. They get to their feet and everyone has words in the ring as we go to picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, FTR has been keeping MJF from tagging out. Dax has MJF in the Cobra Clutch. Cash tags in and MJF goes for the eyes when the ref can’t see, but FTR still blocks him from tagging out. MJF stretches to tag out, but FTR hits him with a double DDT. FTR whips MJF into the ropes for a double clothesline, but MJF rolls underneath for the hot tag.
Cole cleans house. Cole ends the flurry with a fireman’s carry neck breaker and a two count. Cash is able to get a tag, but Dax misses the clothesline. Cole gets a back stabber on Cash and a surprise rollup on Dax for two. He whips Dax into the corner, and Dax pops out with a cross body for two. Dax gets an O’Conner roll for two. Cole gets a super kick for two.
There’s a pause and MJF tags in. Cole and MJF try for the double clothesline, but Dax dodges and Cash pulls Cole out of the ring. Dax gets a rollup for two. Cash tags in and they counter pile drivers back and forth until Cole hits a kick so that MJF can get a two count. MJF gets a pile driver after Cole gets a pair of super kicks for two.
MJF calls for the double clothesline and tags in Cole. Dax pulls MJF out of the ring and Cash rolls up Cole for two. Cash hits a stampede into the turnbuckle and tags in Dax. Cole is on top and joins him. Cole fights them off and as Cole is setting up for Panama Sunrise, Dax knocks Cash into Cole. They then hit the suplex followed by a splash for two.
MJF tags in and he and Dax go face to face. They then trade chops until MJF gets an eye poke. MJF tries for the pile driver and Dax reverses for two. Dax hits a slingshot slam for two. Both men take a long time to get up and Dax is up first. He goes to the second turnbuckle and Cole knocks him down. Cash then gets a clothesline on the floor from Cole.
MJF is able to get a running kick on Dax and covers for two with MJF knocked to the floor. Cash gets into the ring and he goes for the Boom Knee, but it’s blocked. Cole is being set up for the shatter machine, but MJF knocks him out of the way so that FTR can't hit it properly. MJF sets up the heat seeker on Cash, but Dax is able to grab an O’Conner roll for the pin and the win.
Winners and still AEW Tag Team Champions: FTR
Cash holds a hand out to Cole and Cole shakes his hand. MJF is sitting in the corner, heartbroken. MJF starts yelling he blew it and Cole tries to console him. The crowd cheers for MJF and Cole gives him his world title. MJF looks like he’s about to attack Cole with the belt and Cole keeps his back to him.
Cole says “Do what you’ve got to do” and gives himself up. MJF drops the belt and they hug.
