Marty Damato and his team at TMart Promotions bent over backwards for fans planning to attend next month's The Gathering IV in Charlotte, NC after a vendor pulled out, canceling all 18 guests who they were bringing in.
Although not under any responsibilty for the situation, Damato began reaching out to all of the talents involved, offering to provide them with free vendor space if they wanted to come for the event anyway, setting the stage for Frank Dusek (who will be making his first-ever convention appearance), Missy Hyatt, Beastmaster Rick Link of Memphis Wrestling fame, Kevin Sullivan, Andrew Anderson, Princess Victoria, Gary Royal, Judy Martin, Leilani Kai and The Original Midnight Express to retain their appearances at the Gathering next month.
Joyce Grable, Bushwacker Luke Williams, Wild Bill Irwin and Greg Valentine will no longer be appearing due to the vendor pull-out.
The event has announced all 24 of their VIP Superticket guests for this August, as well as their signing schedule:
Friday August 4th at 1 PM: Greg Gagne, Jim Brunzell, Brian Blair, Steve Keirn, Gerald Brisco, Larry Zbyszko, Bob Roop and Denny Brown.
Saturday August 5th at 1 PM: JJ Dillon, The Barbarian, Manny Fernandez, Denny Brown, Big Mama, Ray Apollo (The final WWF Doink the Clown), The Rock N' Roll Express, Tim Horner, Tommy Rich.
Sunday August 6th at 11 AM: Kurt Angle, The Headbangers, Maven, Gangrel, The Godfather, Ahmed Johnson, Terri Runnels.
Memphis Wrestling Legend, former Mid-South Wrestling booker and WCW performer Bill Dundee will be honored at the banquet dinner on Friday 8/4 by Bobby Fulton. Also being honored at the banquet are Tommy Rich (by Ricky Morton), Verne and Greg Gagne, The Killer Bee (by Steve Keirn), and the late Brian Pillman (by Terri Runnels) with Brian Pillman Jr. accepting. The banquet will be hosted by Maven Huffman as the traditional host, former WWE and AWA announcer Ken Resnick will be missing the weekend due to a health issue.
