It is Friday and this week, AEW Rampage was recorded after AEW Dynamite from he SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, SK Canada.. Our commentary team is Excalbur, Chris Jericho, and Tony Schiavone.
Angelo Parker and Matt Menard vs Dustin Rhodes and Keith Lee
So, will Dustin bleed tonight?
Lee and Parker start off and Parker is upset the crowd is cheering for Lee. He is having issues with his comb, and Lee has no time for this and double chops him down. Menard rushes into the ring and Lee scoops and slams him on Parker. Dustin is tagged in and Lee drops Dustin on both of them. Dustin gets a pair of arm drags, one on Menard and then one on Parker. He grabs another arm drag on Menard and holds him down. He then drops a leg and covers Menard for two.
Menard shoves Dustin into the corner and works him over with shoulder thrusts. He tries to whip Dustin into the corner, but Dustin reverses it. Menard tries to go up and over, but Dustin had stopped short, and when Menard lands, Dustin hits the drop down uppercut. He knocks Parker off the apron, then mounts the top and gives Menard ten punches. When Parker gets on the turnbuckle, Dustin gives it to him as well. Dustin rushes at Menard, who ducks and Parker pulls down the top rope so that Dustin goes to the outside.
Dustin is rolled into the ring and Menard covers for two. They then work over Dustin in the corner with quick tags. Dustin is finally able to get the hot tag when we come back from picture in picture, but we get the drama of Lee not being there the first time due to being knocked off the apron.
Lee smashes Parker and Menard in the corners over and over. He then tosses Parker into Menard. He then tosses Dustin into Menard and Parker. Menard and Parker run Lee into Dustin on the apron and then hit him with a double DDT. They cover Lee for two and Dustin breaks it up. Parker tries to springboard off of Menard, but Lee catches him and tosses him back at Menard. Lee hits the supernova on Parker for the pin and the win.
Winners: Keith Lee and Duistin Rhodes.
DUSTIN DIDN’T BLEED!
We then get a QTV segment where QT Marshall says he will fix things up between them on Collision. Johnny TV challenges The Acclaimed to a match next week.
Taya Valkyrie vs The Already In The Ring Izzy McQueen
Taya hits the spear, followed with the curb stomp and pins for three.
Winner: Taya Valkyrie
Toni Storm and Saraya come to the ring. Toni calls her a loser and says it’s because she’s Canadian. Taya asks if Toni should worry about her championship. Toni says she’s beaten everyone. Taya says they have never wrestled and then challenges her at Battle of the Belts.
After Taya taunts her, Toni agrees to the match.
We get a video where Hook accepts Jack Perry’s challenge for the FTW title next week.
Trent Beretta w/Chuck Taylor vs Lance Archer w/Jake Roberts
Lance has returned after being gone for ages, yet again.
Lance charges into Trent before the bell and then tosses him around the ring once the bell rings. After Trent gets in a few shots, Lance just beats him down. Trent is able to get a low bridge and a few moves on Lance on the floor.
Trent rolls Lance into the ring and as the ref is checking Lance, Jake gets in a punch and a short arm clothesline on Trent. We then go to picture in picture, and when we come back, Trent knocks Lance off the top and hits a drop kick. Trent goes to the corner and waits for Lance to get up. When he does, Trent tries for a knee strike, but Lance picks him up.
Trent escapes out the back and lance charges at it. Trent side steps and gets a half and half suplex, followed by the knee. Trent hits a pile driver for two. Lance slowly gets up, absorbing Trent’s attacks, and then drops Trent with a jumping body block. Lance goes to lift Trent, but Trent turns it into a casadora for two.
Trent hits a running knee. Trent goes to the top and Trent nails him with a leaping knee. Lance then hits the blackout. He follows with a short arm lariat for the pin and the win.
Winner: Lance Archer
Chuck comes into the ring to help Trent, and gets taken out. Lance grabs a mic and demands Orange Cassidy come out and accept a match for the International Title at Battle of the Belts. Casdiy comes to the ring and Lance grabs him. Jake stops him after grabbing the backpack with the belt and says if he wants it back, he has to take it Saturday night.
We then get Jeff Jarrett’s team on video arguing. Matt Hardy’s team vows to eliminate Jarrett’s team in the Royal Rampage next week.
Konosuke Takeshita w/Don Callis vs The Already In The Ring Mentallo
Takeshita comes out to the Don Callis Chord Of Doom. Callus has a mic and when the bell rings, he says he wants to add that Mentallo is the childhood friend of Kenny Omega, and Omega’s training partner. He’s here because Omega has a weakness, a need to be surrounded by his idiot friends. Don asks if Mentallo knows the Japanese word for kill. He then yells it and Takeshita attacks.
Mentallo gets a flurry of offense, and Takeshita gets a clothesline. When he tries for a knee strike, Mantallo grabs the leg and gets a dragon screw. Mentallo gets a German suplex and holds on for two. Mentallo goes to the top and Takeshita meets him there and hits a delayed vertical suplex from the second turnbuckle.
Takeshita hits a pile driver and goes to the top for a senton for the pin and the win.
Winner: Konosuke Takeshita
In the back Renee Paquetee is with the Dark Order and she asks why they turned their back on Adam Page. John Silver says he is tired of people l;eaving them. Alex Reynolds says they became soft and they were reminded that they were bred to be the lions of AEW. Evil Uno says it’s time for them to rebuild.
It’s out Main Event
Athena vs Willow Nightingale in an Owen Hart Tournament match
Athena tries for a waistlock slam, but Willow reverses it and slams Athena. Athena grabs a side headlock, Willow shooters her into the roses and drops her with a shoulder tackle. They run the ropes and Athena gets a pounce. Willow then gets a head scissors takedown followed by an elbow strike in the corner.
Athena rolls to the outside, and Willow gives chase. Athena tries to do an elbow drop when Willow rolls into the ring, but Willow avoids it. Athen catches Willow's leg and wrenches it into the ropes Athena works over Willow and covers for two as Ruby Soho looks on in the back. Athena hits a series of kicks and covers for one as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Willow’s knee has been hurt. Willon and Atthena each try to lift the other and fail. They run the ropes and Willow gets the pounce. Willow nails a couple of clotheslines and hits a spinebuster for two. Willow tries for a doctor bomb, but Athena blocks it and rolls up Willow up for two. Athena gets a front slam and follows with a right hand for a two count.
Both women are exhausted and struggle to get up. They throw chops while on their knees. They get to their feet and keep up with chips. Athena gets machine gun chops and Willow hits a scoop slam. Willow goes for a senton and Athena dodges and hits a standing moonsault for two. Athena locks on a crossface, and Willow rolls over for two. Willow hits a Death Valley Driver for two.
Willow’s straps come down and she charges, but Athena gets a diving chop block to the knee. Athena goes for a slam, but Willow is able to reverse it into a surprise roll up for the pin and the win.
