The Bloodline Tribal Council segment on last night's edition of Friday Night Smackdown ran longer than originally planned, PWInsider.com has confirmed. The segment was excellent but the length led to a ripple effect where later segments had their time cut to fit the FOX broadcast.
The AJ Styles vs. Karrion Kross bout was originally slated to go longer than it actually did.
One source also believed the segment with Asuka and everyone else involved ran faster than originally envisioned and there may have been other segments with time cut as well.
For those who have asked about whether Vince McMahon made any major changes to tonight's taping, we are told that he did not and any changes were minimal as the original plans for the show stayed basically intact with the exception of some time cuts.
There was a big sense of pride backstage among execs over the company hitting the biggest live gate for an event at Madison Square Garden ever, in part because this show was in all likelyhood the final WWE event in the building under McMahon family ownership before the Endeavor acquisition takes place sometime in the near future.
Since we had a few emails asking, Triple H and Bruce Prichard were backstage tonight per usual.
There were raves for Grayson Waller's work against Edge backstage after Smackdown.
