1:09 PM: Weather conditions in New York City today led to the cancellation of the Men's event at the 2023 edition of the annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest this afternoon in Coney Island, Brooklyn in NYC.  Lightning and potential storm conditions led the New York Police Department to pull the plug on the contest, which is held outside of Nathan's on a stage erected on the corners of Surf and Stillwell Avenue.  The event traditionally brings in around 30,000 fans to watch live and is a big local spectacle.

Ronnie Hartman, who has parlayed his appearances for Major League Eating into an independent wrestling career as Megabyte Ronnie was slated to compete today.  Hartman was seeded 15th in the competition, which was to air live on ESPN.

Hartman has competed for AEW, Wrestling Open, Black Label Pro, Canada's C*4, Pennsylvania's LVAC and many other independent promotions in recent years.
