PWInsider.com is sad to pass on that longtime Carolinas wrestling announcer Dan Parris passed away yesterday morning in his home. A mainstay in that area for over three decades, he worked as a ring and play by play announcer for many promotions in that area. He published a weekly newsletter covering the scene and was also an area correspondent for the Pro Wrestling Illustrated family of magazines. On behalf of everyone at PWInsider.com, we'd like to send our deepest condolences to Parris' family, friends and fans.
The late, great Eddy Guerrero was named to the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame and will be officially inducted tomorrow.
"He was just as good at being a heel or a baby face — in wrestling terminology a good guy or a bad guy," . Dean Malenko told The El Paso Times. "Eddie's the guy you want to hug, kiss him on the cheek, then two seconds later he could do a Jekyll and Hyde in the ring and you'd want to kill him, you wanted to beat him up. He had that kind of mannerism. Guys like that, it's a very small list of guys. Eddie happens to be one of them."
