WWE DESERVES EMMY CONSIDERATION FOR THE BLOODLINE, KHAN’S MONEY, WHY THIS OLD MAN ISN’T GOING ANYWHERE AND MORE

Why would Tony Khan waste so much money to use copyrighted music? I read where it is an much as a wrestlers contract. Why? The “Final Countdown” isn’t going to make me watch, a good build up will though.

The easy answer is that Tony Khan is a billionaire and wanted to use the music for the match so he paid the rights fee.  The ultra-rich are different than you and I!

Isn't Cody Rhodes actually the best argument against some of the more popular beliefs that several internet fans, wrestling influencers and even Cody himself expressed during his time in AEW, meaning that time of clear heels and babyfaces is done? Just look at the man. He tried hard to walk that line, to blur the lines, to work for both camps and he flopped HARD in AEW, where diehards would probably cheer their favorites for taking a dump. Since he jumped to WWE, he is still organic, but actually plays a pure white-meat babyface, with a clear-cut story, a clear-cut agenda and clear-cut morals and people effing LOVE him, they would let him kiss their babies. He's the most popular good guy star in the business and it's not even close. So maybe the old adage about good and bad still works just great? I love well nuanced and grey characters in TV and film, but in wrestling, when so much of the psychology depends on getting the appropriate reactions for your actions from the audience, why would some people insist on confusing audiences and intentionally dividing fans? The mixed reaction did work for John Cena, but let's face it, 99,9% of wrestlers aren't John Cena.

I think the same people who thought that the face/heel dynamic was dead also thought that all AEW had to do was put the kind of wrestling that Five Star Match fans like out for the masses to see and they would pass WWE in no time.  That failed because what that subset of the fan base doesn’t realize is that while they watch wrestling to see moves performed, more fans like the drama of the stories being told.  Heels vs. Faces is a huge part of that drama and will always be a part of the business that the majority of the fan base likes.

At most RAW, Smackdown and PLE's there is usually this dude in the front row or nearby with a Trinidad and Tobago flag? Do you know who this super fan is? Does he have connections with WWE to usually have front row seats?

I have no idea.  Sorry.

Some months ago I had sent in a question asking if you had ever considered quitting wrestling as a fan or journalist because of a bad product. You adamantly stated that you weren't going anywhere (kudos!) But does the recent rash (and I do mean "rash") of bad journalism make you feel like you're fighting the tide, per se?

The recent spate of piss poor journalism has actually had the opposite effect on me.  I now see my role to be calling out the agenda and the lies that other supposed reporters spew to their followers.  I never felt the need to do that when a reporter simply got a story wrong in the past since people make mistakes, they are human after all.  But now that we have people purposely skewing “reports” to fit their agenda and that of their source buddies?  I will be calling them out until the day I die.  The truth matters to me, as does being fair and honest.

The Bloodline storyline has been so great, that I'm just curious - has WWE ever submitted anyone for an acting Emmy or Golden Globe or any type of drama award before? I'm not saying they would win, but it'd be great PR, and the performances have been super compelling all around.

I agree it has been great and it’s worthy.  It’s up to the awards people to nominate them.  I know WWE would love to get the nomination but as far as I know it’s out of their control.  Maybe if the writer’s strike continues that could change if there isn’t enough new programming for the Academy to consider.
