CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF YUJI NAGATA & MORE: 6/18 NJPW ROAD TO STRONG RESULTS FROM CHIBA, JAPAN

6/18/23 Results from New Japan Road - Road to Strong From Chiba, Japan:

1 - Kosei Fujita vs. Ryohei Oiwa

Both men fought to a draw.

2 - Tiger Mask and Oskar Leube vs. Boltin Oleg and Ryusuke Taguchi

Taguchi pins Tiger Mask with a roll up crade.

3 - YOH, Togi Makabe, Toru Yano and YOSHI-HASHI vs. Dick Togo, SHO, Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL

YOH hits a Direct Drive on Togo for the pinfall win.

4 - Drilla Moloney, Clark Conners and Gedo vs. Francesco Akira, TJP and Great O-Khan

Bullet Club takes the fight into the crowd, destroying guardrails and throwing United Empire into the crowd.

TJP traps Gedo in the Pinoy Stretch and gets the win.

5 - Gabriel Kidd and Alex Coughlin vs. Yuto Nakashima and Hirooki Goto

War Dogs hit a Spike Piledriver on Nakashima. 

Kidd pins Nakashima. 

War Dogs continue to beat on Goto.  YOSHI-HASHI makes the save.   War Dogs hit a Spike Piledriver on YOSHI-HASHI.   

Kidd takes the mic and swears at the crowd.   He challenges them for the Tag Team Titles.   

Kidd and Coughlin looked good here as  vicious heels.  They looked like beasts.  The swearing was too much and it is getting ridiculous.

With the New Japan Strong Independence Day PPV coming on July 4 and 5, the pushes for Gabriel Kidd, Alex Coughlin, Clark Conners and Drilla Moloney makes sense.  They are all being built as big heels to challenge for titles on a PPV stage.    This should be a big two nights for these men who trained in both New Japan and Los Angeles Dojos.

6 - Shota Umino, Ren Narita and El Desperado vs. Tomoaki Honma, Tomohiro Ishii and Kazuchika Okada

Umino pins Honma after a Death Rider.

After the match, Umino and Narita start fighting.  They will face each other in the first night of the G1 Climax.

7 - Yota Tsuji, Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi and Tetsuya Naito vs. TAKA Michinoku, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Taichi and SANADA 

Tsuji hit Curb Stomp and a Spear on TAKA.

Tsuji pins TAKA

8 - Yuma Anazi, Atsuki Aoyagi, Yuma Aoyagi and Kento Miyahara vs.  Master Wato, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Satoshi Kojima and Yuji Nagata

Nagata forces Yuma to submit to a Nagata Lock 54.  

This was an exhibition match showcasing wrestlers from All Japan.   Yuji Nagata is the All Japan Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion and this was a match to celebrate his 30 years in wrestling. 

New Japan will be busy with Forbidden Door on June 25, then a New Japan Strong Pay Per View on July 4 and 5.  The next New Japan World event will be on July 15 with Night 1 of the G1 Climax 33.
