WWE Supershow: Cincinnati
Crowd was loud and into every match. A very family friendly atmosphere, much like what Mike Johnson recently described at the Hartford show.
WWE made this show feel special with a great lineup and PLE quality matches.
By intermission, literally every single child sized shirt was sold out.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn retained the Undisputed Tag Team Titles against Dom Mysterio and Finn Balor, with Zayn pinning Mysterio. Crowd was into every second. Huge welcome for the champs and the heels were booed big time.
Austin Theory retained the United States Title over Sheamus. Theory used his feet on the ropes after pushing the ref in front of Brogue Kick. Post match, Sheamus hits the kick.
Bobby Lashley defeated Karrion Kross with a running power slam. Hard hitting match that saw Scarlett really working the crowd.
Shotzi, Zelina Vega, Michin & Becky Lynch defeated Chelsea Greene, Zoe Stark, Bayley and Io Skye when Lynch forced Greene to tap out. Crowd chanted “We want Becky” until she finally tagged in and cleared house. Many people in attendance called this the match of the night.
Seth Rollins retained his World Heavyweight Championship over Damian Priest. Seth wins with a Curbstomp in 14 minutes after interference from Dom Mysterio. Crowd sang Seth’s song for over 5 minutes before the match. Seth had an ear to ear smile, soaking it all in. After the match, Seth thanked the crowd for how loud and energetic they’ve been. Intermission followed.
Alpha Academy defeated Viking Raiders in a fun comedy match that the crowd really enjoyed.
Gunther retained his Intercontinental Title in a Triple Threat Match over Riddle and Nakamura, pinning Nakamura. Match took a few minutes to start clicking but once it did, it was a tough, physical match.
Roman Reigns (with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa) retained the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship over Rey Mysterio. Crowd gave Roman a heroes welcome until he started heeling the crowd big time, then the arena was filled with defeating boos. Rey was dominated for 90% of the match. Rey had the title won while the ref was out, leading to Solo interfering, which lead to The Usos hitting the ring to a huge reaction. Jey super kicked Solo over and over all the way up the ramp, with Jimmy following. A new ref came out, which Roman beat up and threw out of the ring out of anger. A third ref came out and Rey again had the title won, but this time Dom Mysterio broke up the pin. Rey with a suicide dive to take out his son, before rolling back into the ring and eating a spear from Roman for the pin.
Overall, one of the best WWE shows in Cincinnati in many, many years. WWE treated us like a big market with a PPV quality show and the crowd was into every second. Lots of happy people leaving the arena tonight.
