WOW Episode 39: Broken and Blindsided

BK Rhythm vs The Debuting Ariel Sky
Ariel Sky has wrestled under the name Nikii Duke on AEW Dark.
They lock up and Sky goes for a side headlock takeover, but BK blocks it. BK misses a kick and Sky gets a quick roll up for two. Sky gets another side headlock and uses the ropes for a takedown. BK grabs a head scissors, but Sky escapes and gets another headlock. BK grabs a hammer lock, but Sky gets a head scissors takedown to escape. BK goes to the corner and Sky follows as BK gets a foot up. BK tries to charge at Sky in the corner, but Sky goes up and over and then charges into BK.
Sky gets an Eat the Feet for two. Sky goes to the top, but BK grabs her feet to knock her down, and then BK lays in the stomps. BK gets a snap suplex and covers for two. BK gets a rear chinlock. Sky starts to escape and BK gets a snap mare for two. BK locks on an abdominal stretch and then drops Sky to the mat. BK runs into a boot from Sky. Sky gets a series of clotheslines, a side headlock and then a bulldog. Sky goes to the top and hits a moonsault for the pin and the win.
Winner: Ariel Sky
This was a solid, well worked match that would not have been out of place as an under card match on NXT or AEW’s prelim shows. Nothing super flashy and everything looked sharp.
David McLane hits the ring to interview Ariel Sky. He asks if being a cheerleader helps her in wrestling. She says it did, and says as a teenager, she was told she would never be anything more than a pretty face, so she is thankful for the opportunity in WOW.
Americana vs Fury w/Razor and Mesmeriah
Americana charges into the ring and hits a Thesz press on Fury. Fury and Mezmeriah come into the ring and attack, and Stephy Slays and Jennifer Flores hit the ring to drive them off.
No winner: Double DQ
Americana says that they broke Jesse Jones’s leg and her son’s tablet. She says it’s not over.
Coach Campanelli and Randi Rah Rah talk about how they have defeated Samantha Smart, and they talk about how you never know who you’ll be fighting when you fight Exile. Randi says they should have their own squad.
Coach Campanelli and Randi Rah Rah vs Ice Cold and Genesis
Randi and Genesis start off as Genesis dodges a lock up, so Randi gets a surprise roll up for two. Randi then gets an arm capture cradle for two, then a jack knife finish for two. Coach and Cold tag in. Coach gets a front face lock and Cold shoves them both into the ropes for a break. Coach gets a snap mare and then hits a drop kick for two. Randi is tagged in, and Coach gets a leg sweep and Randi gets a cartwheel elbow drop.
Randi grabs a leg for a two count. Cold gets a hammer lock and gets a snap mare. She then grabs Randi’s arms with a knee in her back for a stretch. Randi powers out and Cold goes for another snap mare, but Randi goes with it and lands on her feet. She hits a drop kick on Cold.
Genesis tags in and Randi gets a quick arm drag. Randi cartwheels into the corner, but Genesis escapes through the ropes and nails Randi with a kick. Genesis works over Randi and covers for two. Genesis ties up Randi’s arms, and Randi is able to turn it into a step up superkick. Genesis takes Randi to her corner, and they work over Randi with quick tags. Randi is finally able to hit Cold with a kick and tag in Coach.
Coach cleans house, Coach gets an airplane spin on Cold. Coach tags Randi and they hit Cold with an assisted senton bomb. Coach is tagged in and covers for the pin and the win.
Winners: Coach Campanelli and Randi Rah Rah

Miami Sweet Heat (Laurie and Lindsey Carlson) (AEW Tag Team Champion) w/Lana Starr vs Stephy Slays and Jennifer Flores
Slays and Lindsey start off, Slays grabs a side headlock and takes Lindsey down. Lindsey is able to roll over for a two. Slays keeps the headlock on and they work to their feet. Lindsey is able to shoot Slays off into the ropes, and Slays hits a cross body for one. Laurie and tags in and Slays gets a drop toe hold and then a drop kick. Slays gets a monkey flip and then goes for a flying cross body. Laurie grabs and slams her instead.
The ref is distracted by Flores trying to come in to help, and this allows Sweet Heat to double-team Slays. Laurie stays in the ring and chokes Slays against the middle rope. Lindsey pops Slays from the outside and Laurie puts Slays on the ropes again. She distracts the ref and Lindsey pulls on Slays’ arm on the ropes. Laurie is tagged in and hold onto Slays while mocking Flores. Slays gets a series of strikes to try to fight back, but Lindsey clubs her in the back and then slams her.
Lindsey goes for another slam, but Slays floats over and grabs a schoolboy for two. Laurie is tagged in and works Flores over in the corner. Lindsey holds Slays upside down for Laurie3 to drop kick her. Lindsey gets the rear arm stretch and Slays is able to escape with a drop down and then a kick into Lindsey. Flores is tagged in and cleans house. Flores covers Lindsey after a drop kick and Laurie breaks it up.
Flores gets the double noggin knocker. Laurie whips Flores into the ropes and Flores covers off with a cross body. Laurie caught her, but Slays hits a drop kick on them so that Flres lands on top of Laurie for a two count, broken up by Lindsey. Lindsey knocks Slays off the apron. Lindsey and Laurie hoist Flores up and hit the heat wave for the pin and the win.
Winners and Still Tag Team Champions: Miami Sweet Heat
After the match, Lana Starr says her group is the most dominant faction in WOW. She says everyone is at the back of the line and only gets a match if she says so. The Tonga Twins get in the ring and face off with Sweet Heat.
