Ever since Nick Khan joined the WWE back in 2020, PLEs have increasingly been held at large stadium and international arenas (this year’s MITB being held in London as an example) as well as eliminating matches from kickoff shows due to the belief that they are unnecessary as the PPV model has shifted to the livestreaming model as kickoff show matches were used to entice viewers to order the PPV. With that being said, do you think that kickoff show matches as well as PLEs being held in American and Canadian arenas (with the exception of New York City’s Madison Square Garden and Chicago’s Allstate Arena) are a thing of the past in the WWE and why?
Kickoff matches? I think they are done and that's fine by me. They add nothing to the show in my opinion. They aren't trying to entice people to buy a PPV anymore so they aren’t needed. As for PLEs, there is no way I see WWE only running a few big cities in the US and Canada. I think we are just in a cycle where outside countries made sense to run.
At this point, have Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair eclipsed the Four Horsewomen (Becky, Charlotte, Sasha, Bailey) when it comes to setting the standard of women’s wrestling?
The women you mentioned are awesome so I won’t word eclipsed. I think they are adding to the standard.
Has Bianca moved past the need for her signature ponytail? With her athletic ability and charisma, has she identified herself enough that it takes nothing away from her if let’s say some nasty heel cuts that ponytail off?
She doesn’t need it, for sure. But if she wants to keep it, I am fine with that. When she’s a face, the heel can use it against her. If she turns heel, she can use it as a weapon.
There’s rumors that Brock is going to retire at Wrestlemania 40. If that’s the case, should the guy retiring Brock get the same kind of push Brock got from ending Undertaker’s streak at Wrestlemania 30, the final boss type heel that ragdolls everyone he wrestles and only the top top guys can beat him after multiple finishers? And should the guy who gets that push be Gunther?
It depends on the situation. If, for instance, that ends up being the last match between Cody and Brock, Cody should win but he shouldn’t rag doll Brock. And honestly, I don’t think if Brock is going to retire that the floor should be wiped with him. If he is going to lose, it should be in a war where the guy who beats him gets the rub. Gunther would be a great candidate for that because the guy is awesome.
Should Dom Dom get a run with the World Heavyweight title the way he is now? He’s a Weasley heel that the fans HAAAATE but he also has the Judgement Day backing him up and him being champ would almost be like Rhea has the world title by proxy.
Right now? No way in my opinion. He is great in his heel role but to have him beat Seth Rollins? Nope, not now. And not any time in the near future. Down the road? Maybe then we could consider it but for now, nope.
