Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman have been enlisted by Peacock to remind everyone that the 2024 Summer Olympics are coming.
In a new ad campaign rolled out this week, Reigns and Heyman are featured alongside music legend Dolly Party and beloved animated characters The Minions to push that everything, incluing Roman defending his title, stops in July 2024 for the games:
Jenny Storms, the CMO for entertainment and sports at NBCU, told the Hollywood Reporter that the spot is a "combustible moment," explaining, "Some are definitely part of the organization. But in many cases, it’s just people who are fans of the Olympics and the Olympic movement. We’ve done a body of work with the minions and their love for Olympics in the past. We know that the WWE superstars are big Olympic fans. So it was just about bringing to light the story and the idea and the concept, and these are the biggest superstars that you can get in entertainment to kind of come together for this campaign and launch it in a really big way.”
