AEW BIDS FAREWELL TO IMPORTANT BEHIND THE SCENES STAFFER

By Mike Johnson on 2023-06-07 19:59:00

Before AEW Dynamite went on the air tonight, a number of AEW personnel including President Tony Khan brought out long-time costume designer Sandra Gray to pay tribute to her as she is retiring from her work for the company.  Gray has worked over the course of her career for WCW, WWE and finished her career out in AEW.

AEW played a series of video tributes to her from a number of talents, including Ricky Starks, Chris Jericho, Wardlow, Nyla Rose, Dasha and Powerhouse Hobbs.

Dustin Rhodes, who kicked off the ceremony, noted she has been doing his gear since 1996 and she will always be part of the family, thanking her for everything she has done for him and everyone else in professional wrestling.  Rhodes then led a "Thank you Sandra" chant.

Tony Khan told Gray she was a huge part of the AEW fan and while she is retiring, this isn't goodbye and she will be part of the AEW family forever.  Gray had been with AEW since it was formed in 2019.

We are told this was a really nice ceremony with several other AEW talents and staffers, including Jake Roberts appearing and that Gray was very obviously touched by the moment.

Although her work is extremely well known, Gray was most prominently featured publicly on the old WWE Total Divas reality series.

Thanks to Billy Krotchsen.
