Many WWE graduates have gone on to get involved with weird and wonderful hobbies. There are plenty of things we know wrestlers tend to get involved in. For instance, a number of former wrestling pros go on to try their hand at acting.
Every time brings new trends that become hobbies after a while. And it’s very interesting to see the comparison between the older generation of celebrities and the younger ones. Most of our hobbies are now digitized. After the development of casino online games, most of the gamblers don’t even bother themselves to go to a traditional casino, but rather play from the comfort of their home.
We’ll cover some of the hobbies that you may not have known about in this guide. WWE stars have plenty of time after their careers to pursue things they are passionate about, and some may even surprise you.
While you won’t currently see Jeff Hardy or The Hardy Boyz in any of the WWE events, they have appeared in plenty. Hardy is known to be one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of WWE and is still involved in wrestling via AEW.
Jeff Hardy is known to enjoy a game of poker. There are even some specific poker chips that were manufactured with his image on them. He has been spotted in casinos playing the game and maybe you even remember the scene in a WWE event where he was playing poker with The APA and Ted DiBiase.
Saraya is a huge name in the world of wrestling and although she’s no longer involved with WWE, she retains millions of fans and followers from being involved in their events.
Some people may not realise that she is something of an entrepreneur, and she has started numerous ventures since her first retirement from wrestling. She’s back now with AEW, but in the meantime she has been involved in a coffee company as well as numerous clothing ventures including The Saraya Store in California.
Saraya is also interested in cosmetics and working with Hot Topic she released her own collection of makeup products.
Plenty of wrestlers love metal music, that is no surprise to anyone. However, not many go as far as Chris Jericho who is also a singer in a heavy metal band called Fozzy. In fact, they have been active for over 20 years and even released seven different albums including “Do You Wanna Start a War” and “Sin and Bones”.
He was also involved in an Iron Maiden tribute album back in 2005 and wrote a column for a metal magazine, plus he has his own radio show and podcast where he discusses music, too. Safe to say he’s very passionate about music and it is a big part of this former WWE-star’s life.
Kane was a huge face of wrestling in his time, but has gone on to other things since. Kane suffered with his injury problems while he was in WWE, which perhaps contributed to him moving away from the wrestling career, but he was formidable as part of the Brothers of Destruction where he was a in characters the half brother of The Undertaker, another huge name from wrestling history.
Glenn Jacobs is now the mayor of Knox County. In 2018 he was voted into office in one of the largest counties in the whole of Tennessee. Four years later he was elected for a second term!
He is incredibly not the first former wrestler to hold public office as Jesse Ventura was a governor in the 1990s after a successful wrestling career.
Well, there’s no surprise that The Rock is on our list of people who have gone on to do interesting things since appearing in WWE.
Of course, a lot of people know The Rock best as an actor now, and he has had unprecedented success. He’s been one of the top-earning actors in the world over recent years and was even introduced to a new generation when he starred in Moana.
We could have just as easily included singing on this list, as The Rock showed that he can certainly hold a tune, but something a lot of people don’t know is how much he loves fishing. He raises bass on his own ranch and enjoys fishing; he's even been quoted as saying it is “good for the soul”. In between a very hectic schedule of acting, he finds time to head back to his ranch in Virginia and do some fishing as well as a lot of working out.
Have any of these former WWE stars come as a surprise to you? Not many people realise that there are so many wrestlers who have strange and fascinating hobbies. From fishing, to launching lines of makeup, and even starring as the frontman of a heavy metal band, those who have graced WWE are some eccentric characters with hobbies and interests to match.
