WWE CEO Nick Khan announced today during a discussion at the MoffettNathanson's Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference that WWE would finally return to India this September for a live event. He did not announce a date or city.
This would be the first live WWE event in the country since December 2017.
WWE produced a TV special designed specifically for the Indian market, The Superstar Spectacular timed for Republic Day in January 2021. The company had been slated to run there in January 2022 with a Smackdown brand house show but delayed the event in part due to the merger of several television broadcast companies, Sony and Zee.
