It is Wednesday and AEW Dynamite is at the Moody Center in Austin, TX. Our commentary team is Excalbur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone.
Wardlow is on his way to the ring in street clothes as we are told it;’s been a great day to be an AEW fan. Wardlow says Christian Cage made a lot of promises that he’d like to see him follow through on and calls him out. Christian and Luchasaurus come to the ring. Christian gets in Wardlow’s face without a mic, and Wardlow takes out Christian. Luchasaurus attacks and Christian gives Wardlow a low blow. Christian then mounts Wardlow and nails him repeatedly as Luchasaurus brings a ladder into the ring. Christian then nails Wardlow with the ladder.
Luchasuarus sets up the ladder in the corner and Luchasaurus choke slams him through it. Christian then hits a Killswitch on the ladder, and then raises the TNT Title in the middle of the ring.
The announcers then remind us that Don Callis stabbed Kenny Omega last week, and he will answer all of our questions this week.
Orange Cassidy and Daerby Allin vs Lee Moriarty and Big Bill
Cassidy and Lee start out the match. Moriarty starts with strikes and they move to a series of rollups back and forth. Cassidy has tape on his back and hand, as he is working “injured”. Bill Bill is tagged in and Darby tags in as well. They lock up collar and elbow, and Bill swings Darby around and let him go to spin slam into the mat.
Bill charges at Darby, and Darby pulls down the rope for Bill to go over the top. Lee comes in and is tossed to the outside as well, allowing Cassidy and Darby to dive into them as we go picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Bill grabs a stalled vertical suplex, and Darby is able to get a blind tag, but the ref didn’t see it, so the ref forces him to get out of the ring as Cassidy is slammed. Cassidy is set up in the corner, and he gets a big boot on Lee and dodges Bill. He then leapfrog’s Lee and tries to get a tag, but is grabbed by Bill. Bill tosses him to the corner. Cassidy goes for the tag again, but Lee stops him. Cassidy is able to escape, shoves Lee into Bill before going for the hot tag, casually.
Darby is in and cleans house. He gets forever elbows on both Lee and Bill in opposite corners. Darby fights out of a chokeslam and goes to the top. He leaps into Bill’s arms. Bill hits a sidewalk slam for two. Cassidy tag in and hits a spinning DDT on Bill for two. Moriarty gets a quick roll up for two. He then hits a spinning slam on Cassidy and grabs a rear chinlock. Cassidy rolls and puts Lee in a pin for two.
Lee is put on the top turnbuckle, and Darby and Cassidy hit a double avalanche superplex. Cassidy is having back pain, and Bill hits a running clothesline on both Cassidy and Darby. Bill picks up Cassdidy who turns it into Stundog Millionaire and Darby then hits a Code Red on Bill. Lee charges into the ring, but Darby is able to get a drop step waistlock. They trade waistlocks until Lee is shoved into Cassidy for the Beach Break.
Cassidy stops Bill from attacking, and Darby hits the Coffin Drop from the top. Darby then hits a side headlock takeover on Lee for the pin and the win.
Winners: Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin.
In the back, Alex Marvez asks the Bucks about Kenny Omega, but the Blackpool Combat Club shows up and they are instantly brawling in the back. The Bucks are taken out easily and Mox says they are the only Elite in this business.
Renee Paquette is with Wardlow with the doctor. Arn shows up and Wardlow says what happened is why he told Arn to stay in the back. Arn asks what are you prepared to do to him. Wardlow then challenges Christian Cage to a ladder match at Double or Nothing.
Renee is then with Orange Cassidy,= and she asks him about Kyle Fletcher attacking him last week. Cassidy says he should find Tony Khan, because he’ll fight him at Double of Nothing.
Sammy Guevara vs The Already In The Ring Exodus Prime
Sammy gets a running knee strike, followed by the GTH for the pin and the win.
Winner: Sammy Guevara
Sammy has a mic and says his tough times have brought him here today, and he’s made a lot of mistakes. He says it takes a few wrong turns to get to the right place where he will prove the naysayers wrong. He listens to his heart and his heart tells him he will be the next AEW World Champion. We then get a video package showing the history behind all four men in the World Championship Match at Double or Nothing.
Tony Schiavone is the ring to interview Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. They are joined by Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh. FTR attacks them on the stage, and Stanam Singh is knocked off the stage. Dax destroys the clothing of Jay Lethal and Cash wails on Jarrett with a chair. FTR has destroyed Jarrett and Lethal and Jarrett is rolled into the ring where Cash works the ground and pound.
As FTR wait for Jarrett to get up, Karen Jarrett hits a low blow on Cash and The Stroke on Dax. Does this mean Miss Dixie is coming next?
Satnam Singh storms to the ring and Choke Slams both members of FTR at once. Jarrett and Lethal have guitars and nail FTR as they struggle to get up.
Renee is in the back with Darby Allin, and congratulates him on his victory tonight. He says the headlock takeover is a message to MJF, and this is the biggest match in his career. Sammy shows and says he respects Darby. He then says Darby was right when he said he needed to stop being a follower, and they needed to take the belt off of MJF.
Toni Storm and Ruby Soho w/Saraya vs Hikaru Shida and Britt Baker
All four women start brawling before the bell and when the bell rings, Shida is beating down Soho in the corner. Shida hits a missile drop kick on Soho and but Soho recovers with a knee strike and tags in Storm. They trade strikes until Baker is tagged in and Baker nails Storm with strike, followed by a spinning slam for a two count.
Saraya sweeps Baker’s legs and Storm hits a hip attack to knock Baker to the floor as Saraya keeps up the attack on Baker. Storm tosses Baker into the barricade and then back into the ring as we go picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Baker gets a sling blade on Storm and crawls for the tag. Baker gets the tag first, but Soho is tagged in as well. Shida lays in a series of forearms and just batters Soho down. She they lays out Storm and Saraya. Shida then gets a flying crossbody on the floor on Storm and Saraya. She gets a jumping knee on Soho for two. Storm tries to sneak in but Shida gets a question mark kick. Shida hits a falcon arrow on Soho for two.
Baker is tagged in and she hits a butterfly suplex. Shida gets a Meteora off the top and Baker covers, with Storm breaking up the pin. Storm accidentally hits a DDT on Soho, and Baker covers for two. Baker tries for the lockjaw, but Soho rolls her over for two. Siho hits No Future kick and Storm knocks Shida off the apron, but runs into an Air Raid Crash from Baker, followed by the stomp. Satraya gets on the apron, and Storm is passed the spray, which she uses on Baker. Storm then hits a DDT for the pin and the win.
Winners: Toni Storm and Ruby Soho
In the back with Orange Cassidy, Renee says 20 people went to Tony Khan for a chance at his AEW International title. Cassidy says he’ll fight them all in a Blackjack Battle Royal.
It is time for Tony Khan’s Big Announcement! He says that AEW Saturday Night Collusion will start 6/17 on TNT. They then have a tour of Canada and he will announce where Collusion will be coming from on the 17th next week.
Roderick Strong vs Chris Jericho Falls Count Anywhere with the Jericho Appreciation Society banned from the building.
Strong comes in hot, with knees and chops on Jericho before Jericho can take off his jacket. When Jericho gets his jacket off, he fires back and they trade chops in the middle of the ring until Strong gets a leaping kick followed by a suplex slam on Jericho for two.
They go back to chopping each other and until Jericho clotheslines him out of the ring. Strong is able to slam Jericho on the apron for two. They go back to trading blows and Jericvho slams Strong face first into the timekeeper’s table. They return to the ring and Strong tries for a drop across his knees, but Jericho escapes and locks on the Wall of Jericho. Strong is able to make it to the ropes for a break as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, they are brawling through the crowd. They brawl up the steps and to the concession stand. Jericho then suplexes Strong through a table for two. Strong then suplexes Jericho onto the concession counter. They brawl down the hallway and Jericho grabs a stanchion to attack Strong. They then move to the stairs and fight on a platform in the stairwell.
They move back to the hallway and Jericho grabs a chair. Strong throws the container of plastic forks at Jericho and then nails him with a handful of ice cream. They return to brawling down the hallway. Jericho tosses a garbage can at Strong and Strong heads down the hall toward the outside. Jericho follows him and since he is outside the building, Adam Cole is there.
Cole beats the tar out of Jericho and nails him with the Boom Knee. Strong hits his running knee and covers Jericho for the pin and the win.
Winner: Roderick Strong
The announcers let us know that Superstar Billy Graham has passed.
We go back to the building for the next match immediately.
Rush vs Jungle Boy
JB offers a handshake to Rush because he has no idea who he is. Rush slaps him and then clotheslines him out to the ring. Rush tosses JB repeatedly into the barricades. After a series of those attacks, we see JB is busted open and Rush tries to pull the wound apart. He keeps up the attack as we go picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, Rush is whipping JB into the corners. JB is able to get a comeback clothesline and Rush no sells it. Rush goes back to attacking the head wound with a head butt. JB hits a series of chops followed by a kick until Ruch cuts him off with a jumping knee. JB is able to get a drop kick, but takes too long to follow it up, so Rush is able to get a thrust kick.
They fight in the corner and go to the top. After they trade chops and strike, JB gets a hurricanrana from the top. Rush misses a leaping strike and JB gets the snare trap. Rush is able to get to the ropes with Jose pushing the rope toward him. They trade chops on the apron, with Rush wiping JB’s blood on his chest.
Gross and stupid.
Rush lays in a kick, calls for JB to charge and then suplexes JB to the floor. He tosses JB back in the ring and stands on JB’s chest for two. JB slaps Rush and Rush hits him with a forearm strike and then beats him down in the corner. The ref pulls him off and Rush argues with the ref. JB uses it for the most devastating move is all of professional wrestling, the surprise roll up for the pin and the win.
Winner: Jungle Boy
Preston Vance and Jose hit the ring with a cable to go after JB. Darby rushes to the rescue but is cut off by Vance. Sammy joins in and they are finally able to take out Vance and Jose. They all spend time staring at each other before slowly leaving together.
In the back, Renee is with MJF. MJF looks highly stressed, and she reminds him he does not need to be pinned or submit to lose. He knock the mic from her hand and walks off.
We are shown that Jamie Hayter is not cleared, and we show when she got injured last week. Renee is with Toni Storm and says she has four wins in the last five days. Toni says this shows she is better than the champion, and if Hayter has any guts she’d put the title on the line at Double or Nothing.
Looks like Don Callis will be the end of the show because it’s time for the Main Event.
Jay White w/Juice Robinson vs Ricky Starks
Ricky charges after White, who bails from the ring. He returns from the ring and after they go to the ropes, White goes to the outside again. Ricky chases him and White returns to the ring. Ricky gets a series of strikes and kicks in the corner and the ref pulls him off as White rolls to the outside again. Ricky follows and White gets a knee to the midsection. Ricky then slams White into the barricade.
They return to the ring and White is able to drop Ricky on the top rope for a two count. White then goes to work methodically with chops in the corner. Ricky is able to get a back body drop. And White rolls to the outside. Ricky follows him and White is able to slam him into the apron twice, which, as we all know, is the hardest part of the ring. Ricky is able to slam White head into the apron, and as he tells Juice to go away, White slams Ricky on the apron and we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Ricky is attacking White in the corner and White fights his way out with a rising knee. White tosses Ricky to the corner and Ricky pops out with a clothesline and both men are down. White is up first and runs into a reverse atomic drop from Ricky, who follows it up with a rising elbow in the corner. Ricky gets a belly to belly suplex and hits the rope assisted DDT for a two count.
Ricky tries for a butterfly, but White drops to the mat. Ricky tries to reposition and White gets a kick to the midsection and a DDT. White drops Ricky on the top rope and then follows with an uranagi for two. White tries to set up for Blade Runner, but Ricky fights his way out and hits a series of elbows. White dumps Ricky over the top.
White follows him out and rolls him back in the ring. When White follows, Ricky gets an inside cradle for two. Ricky gets a swinging neckbreaker and follows with a high scoop slam. He gets a two count. They run the ropes, and Juice grabs Riclky’s foot. Ricky escapes the Blade Runner and hits a spear. White stops Ricky’s next move by gouging the eyes. As the ref is dealing with White, Juice comes in the ring with a chair. Ricky takes it from him and nails White in the back as the ref calls for the DQ.
Winner via DQ: Jay White
Tony Schiavone is in the ring to ask Don Callis why he betrayed Kenny Omega last week. There is no music for Callis and security is flanking the ramp as he comes to the ring.
The crowd lets Don know they think he is a piece of excrement. Don says instead of talking about what he did to Kenny, he will talk about what Kenny did to him, and HE is the victim. He goes over all of the matches Omega had and won because of him.
Kenny’s music hits and security moves to the top of the ramp and he goes after the security, and the Blackpool Combat Club attack Kenny. Mox hits Omega with a paradigm shift and they go to the ring. Mox says the war is already over. This is Omega’s final warning, and they are what everyone in wrestling pretends to be.
The Young Bucks come out with a garbage can full of implements of destruction. The BCC call for them to attack and Adam Page’s music hits and he joins Kenny and the Bucks. And it’s a pier six brawl!
The BCC take off and Yuta is the one who doesn’t get away so he can take the beating. Yuta takes a BTE tripper and a buckshot lariat.
Page has a mic and says they are the heart, soul and spirit of this place and they are The Elite. He says they will be having an Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing.
