Why is it so hard to find the Gary Hart biography?

There was a small print run and the story that makes the rounds is that the co-author was concerned about the legality of reprinting some of the things in the book after Hart's passing and (thus far) has never given his consent to giving the book another print run - or selling the rights off to someone else.

The announcement that Tod Gordon is writing a book made me wonder three things: one, wasn't there supposed to be a book (perhaps this one?) years ago?  What happened to it?

The original Tod Gordon book was a different project that was never written or published.  My understanding is that Tod sat down for interviews with the scheduled co/ghost-writer but that the book kept getting delayed and eventually, it was dropped.

What happened to the Bob Ryder book that was announced?

Bob Ryder began work on his announced book but later decided that he'd rather not burn anyone he'd potentially write about and took a pause on the project since he was focusing on his TNA/Impact Wrestling duties.  He unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer and from that point on, had far different priorities and never returned to writing on the book.  I don't believe much work on it was ever completed.

Whatever happened to the Paul Heyman book that was announced?  It would be interesting to match up his and Gordon's versions of events to see how they mesh or don't.

Heyman went back to WWE, which pretty much ended the work on the book.  I know that he had done a lot of writing on it, but my feeling is that we probably won't see any book project from him until he's done with his WWE run or WWE decides to publish a Heyman project.

I am also trying to track down a book titled Pile Driver: The Life of Charles "Midget" Fischer - I see it listed online from time to time but I am not sure it is a real book.  Do you know of anyone who has actually seen a physical copy in the wild?

Well, if Texas counts as "in the wild", I found a copy of it years ago while in Dallas and have it in my library of books I keep for reference.  My belief is that it was independently published with a very small print run, as that's the only copy I've ever actually seen.
