It is time for AEW Rampage, which was recorded after Dynamite at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit MI. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Jim Ross, and Tony Schiavone.
Kip Sabian, Butcher, and Blade vs. The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn
Anthony Bowens and Sabian start with Bowens getting a quick shoulder tackle, then mocking Sabian. They run the ropes again, and Sabian gets a hip toss with a leg drop. Bowens gets a series of kicks and an over the top Famouser. Max Caster tags in as does Blade and Caster gets a big back body drop on Blade. Caster slams Blade and tags in Bowens for the Scissor Me Timbers. Butcher tags in and drops Bowens, followed up by knocking Caster and Gunn off the apron. Bowens is whipped into the ropes and takes a knee to the back by Sabian.
Butcher, Blade, and Sabian mock the scissoring. Sabian and Blade work Bowens over outside the ring with Sabian getting a split legged moonsault from the top rope to the floor. Blade tosses Bowens into the ring and Butcher nails him in the head with a fist and then tosses him to the corner. Butcher pulls Bowens to the corner when Blade starts to work him over. Blade keeps Bowens from tagging out as we go picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Butcher, Blade, and Sabian are using quick tags to keep Bowens in their corner. Bowens is able to get a superkick on Blade and both men are down. Blade tags in Sabian and Bowens is able to tag in Billy Gunn for his first time in the match tonight.
Gunn cleans house, but finally falls to the numbers game. Caster hits a missile drop kick on Blade and Gunn hits a Famouser on Sabian after Caster gets a flapjack slam first. Blade breaks it up at two. Caster takes out Blade with chops. Bowens is tagged in and works over Sabian with stomps before hitting The Arrival and Caster hits the Mic Drop for the pin and the win.
Winners: The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn
Yeah. I know. Caster was not the legal man. JR slips in that it was bowling shoe ugly.
Oh, and the sign I love in the crowd for this match is “It’s Pop, Not Soda.”
We then get a video from The Gunns and they say the refs screwed them over AND they haven't gotten a rematch yet. It will not take long for them to be back at the top. Ethan Page comes in and asks them for help.
Toni Storm w/Saraya and Ruby Soho vs. the Already In The Ring Allyson Kay
Kay asks for a handshake because she hasn’t watched the show in months, obviously. Toni instead takes her down and stomps away. Storm struts in the ring and Kay gives her a kick and then mounts for a ground and pound. Kay beats Storm down in the corner. Saraya grabs Kay’s boot before she charges into Storm, giving Storm the chance to attack and take Lay down. As Storm kicks away at Kay in the ropes, the ref pulls her off, giving Soho a chance to attack from the floor.
Storm knocks Kay to the floor where Saraya and Soho attack. Storm works Kay over on the floor. Kay is tossed into the ringpost and then back in the ring. Storm gets a two count. Kay is tossed to the floor again. Kay fights off Soho and Saraya and then gets in the ring dropping Storm across the top rope and then getting a swinging neckbreaker. Kay gets a two count.
As they both get up, Storm gets a swinging DDT off the ropes. Storm goes for a Storm Zero, but Kay reverses it. She holds on as Soho tries to break it up. The ref shoves her out of the ring and Saraya starts to slide in, but Kay has to release the hold.
Storm is able to get a small package for two. Storm gets a German Suplex and Storm hits the hip attack in the corner, followed by Storm Zero for the pin and the win.
Winner: Toni Storm
A longer match than I was expecting, and Allyson Kay always looks good.
Kyle Fletcher vs. Action Andretti w/Darius Martin
They lock up and have very similar tights, white with green swirls. They break and then move to arm bars. Kyle gets in a couple of kicks as they break. They lock up into the ropes and Andretti gets a leaping arm drag, followed by a Hurricanrana, and then with a drop kick. Andretti gets a spinning crossbody off the ropes for a two count.
Andretti goes to the top rope, but Kyle catches him and tries for a Casadora, but it doesn’t quite work, so he instead goes for an arm drag, which Andretti reverses. Kyle gets a kick on Andretti, who was on the apron. Andretti is knocked to the floor and Kyle slams Andretti on the floor as we go picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Fletcher was in control on the small screen, and Kyle body slams Andretti. Andretti is tossed into the ropes, and is able to get a back elbow handspring off the ropes. Kyle tries for a half and half suplex, but Andretti lands on his feet. Kyle charges at him, and Andretti dodges, and gets a scoop slam. He clotheslines Kyle out of the ring and leaps over the top rope into him.
Kyle is tossed into the ring and Andretti goes for a split legged moonsault., but Kyle gets out of the way. Andretti charges into the corner and runs into a thrust kick in the corner. Kyle gets a running kick and then a sheer drop brainbuster for two. Kyle pulls Andretti to the corner and they fight as Kyle is on top. Andretti leaps to the top rope and hits an avalanche German Suplex from the top. Andretti goes to the top and hits a springboard 450 for two.
Andretti tries for a fireman’s carry., but Kyle fights out of it. Kyle hits a roundhouse kick and a leaping kick into Andretti in the ropes. Kyle gets a spinning spike pile driver for the pin and the win.
Winner: Kyle Fletcher
Tony Schiavone is in the ring to talk about the Firm Deletion with Matt and Jeff Hardy, and Isaiah Kassidy. Matt and Isiah say their contracts with the Firm have been DELETED. Jeff says they are back for their final run and want to be the AEW Tag Team Champions. The Gunns come to the ring and say no.
They still get the biggest Heel reaction of anyone on the roster. They say Ethan still wants to beat their asses and so do they. Matt says he has no problem fighting them, but he is sick of Ethan Page. Matt says that if they beat the Gunns, they get control of Ethan’s contract. As the Gunns confer, Jeff tells him to quit the contract talk.
The Gunns say Ethan accepts and as long as they are here, they will never touch the titles. Matt says they will be happy to DELETE the Ass Boys.
Mark Henry interviews us in the Main Event. Swerve Strickland says that The Mogul Embassy now has the Ring of Honor Trios Champions and Prince Nana as members now. The Dark Order asks if they will join the Dark Order. Nana says they will put the Dark Order out of business tonight.
The Dark Order (John Silver and Alex Reynolds) vs Mogul Associates (Swerve Strickland and Brian Cage)
Reynolds and Swerve start out with a collar and elbow tie up and Reynolds backs swerve into the ropes. Swerve grabs an arm but Reynolds escapes and runs the ropes. They go to the corner where Swerve dodges a charge, gets a tijera and leaps to the top. Reynolds retreats and Swerve stays on the top, but comes down to tag in Cage.
Silver is tagged in and they have a pose off. Cage gets in a kick and then whips Silver into the ropes. Silver is picked up for a slam but instead hits a flying leg scissors for a takedown. Cage then does the same things to Silver. Cage tries a flying cross body on Silver, who catches, holds and then slams him. Cage goes for a suplex, and Cage slams him instead. Silver is tossed into the ropes, and Swerve holds the ropes open for Silver to go to the floor as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Cage sets up to suplex Silver, but he reverses it and suplexes Cage. Reynolds and Swerve are both tagged in and Reynolds works over Swerve. Reynolds gets a Tiger Driver and a pile driver for two. Reynolds puts Swerve on top and Price Nana throws a tantrum on the apron. Swerve uses the distraction to knock Reynolds to the mat and tries for the stomp, but Reynolds avoids it.
Silver charges in and he and Reynolds double team Swerve with strikes and kicks. Silver gets a German Suplex, Reynolds gets a jack knife and converters for two. Silver leaps out of the ring into Cage’s grasp. Case slams Silver into the barricade, then brings him to the apron for a kick from Swerve.
Cage tags in and tries to hit Reynolds with a power bomb, but Reynolds gets out of it and grabs a small package for two. Cage hits a pop up powerbomb, and Cage and Swerve get a double cutter for two. Cage calls for the Drill Claw, but Silver runs into the ring and hits Cage with an insigiri. Silver grabs a waistlock on Swerve and pulls him to the corner, where Nana grabs Silver’s foot, allowing Swerve to get a leaping rear kick.
Reynolds charges into Swerve with a kick, but Cage nails Reynolds with a circus lariat. Cage hits Reynolds with a drill claw and Swerve hits Silver with a JML driver for a double pin and the pin.
Winners: Swerve Strickland and Brian Cage.
The Mogul Embassy beat down the Dark Order until Keith Lee and Dustin Rhodes charge the ring. The Embassy bails and we are desperately out of time!
