A ton of readers sent word that The Rock returns to his role of Luke Hobbs in a post-credits scene in Fast X, which just had its world premiere yesterday in Italy.
There is no word on the nature of the scene, but the appearance is Dwayne Johnson's return to the franchise for the first time in a number of years, in part due to issues between he and Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel. Those issues generated lots of headlines in Hollywood circles at the time. Johnson had previously blown off public overtures by Diesel for Johnson to return to the franchise.
The appearance sets Johnson to return in future Fast films, including a potential sequel to his own Hobbs & Shaw spinoff film, which he co-starred in alongside Jason Statham.
The return also potentially sets the stage for Johnson and John Cena, who has since joined the franchise, to appear on screen together for the first time outside of WWE performances.
