'GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3' FEATURING DAVE BAUTISTA TOPS $340 MILLION AT BOX OFFICE

James Gunn's excellent Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3, which was designed to close out this iteration of Marvel's cosmic team and is expected to be Dave Bautista's final performance as Drax The Destroyer has already topped $340 million worldwide at the box office for its debut this weekend, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com.

The film brought in $138,421,568 million in the United States.

Internationally, it has brought in $205,600,000 million more.

Thus far, the film has garnered $344,021,568 as of Sunday.

The plot of the film - "Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill must rally his team to defend the universe and protect one of their own. If the mission is not completely successful, it could possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them."

The film is Bautista's seventh outing as Drax, following the first two Guardians films, appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder and the Disney+ Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which serves as the lead-in to GOTG Vol. 3.
