The majority of the WWE Employees did not return to the office today as originally scheduled. We are told the company has pushed that mandatory return to the office back to next Monday 5/9.
WWE NXT Women's Championship was vacated tonight by Indi Hartwell, who was injured while successfully defending it at NXT Spring Breakin' last week and was then called up to the Raw roster. There will be a tournament to crown the next champion kicking off next week that will climax at the 5/28 WWE NXT Battleground PPV in Worcester, MA.
WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn retained their titles on NXT TV tonight and teased they would be taking the belts with them to Smackdown to defend on multiple brands.
Scrypts was unmasked as Reggie on NXT TV tonight, so it appears that character is done.
Damian Priest is already in Puerto Rico doing local media to promote Backlash this Saturday. On the show emanating from Puerto Rico, Priest told elnuevodia.com, "It is an honor. I know the importance of this fight, for the company, for Latinos, for me. When I fought in Puerto Rico (2021) it was special and I thought it was going to be one of the most important things in my career. Now in Backlash, it will be the most special moment in my career. The world will see us fighting in Puerto Rico. I never thought it was possible,”
WWE will be live streaming a press conference Friday afternoon from San Juan with all the top performers from the show.
